It was a fun experience and we decided to enroll for the school year. I absolutely love this school on so many levels. The staff are incredible. Waldorf is new to me but love the community and imagination based style of play, learning and life. They have so many traditions and events throughout the year that are magical. Nature based and a dim calm environment. The have a unique rhthym of the day that you won't find at just any school. They play outside, feed chickens, sing, open play, snack, story time, art, and so much more. I am looking forward to being part of the Acorn family for the next few years!

I love that the children have a rhythm and know what to expect each day. They get to take morning walks in nature, learn fun songs, feed chickens (and now pet the bunnies), learn how to chop vegetables, bake bread, learn finger crafts, molding beeswax, wet on wet painting, and everything about is natural. Lots of wooden toys to play with indoors & they get to wear cozy slippers, just like at home! The teachers are so comforting to the children when they need a little bit of love. My son needed that. I recommend you try their summer camps or ducklings classes.

Choosing a place for your child's early years is a huge decision, and our time at TLE in Clarkston…read morehas been a blessing. Over the years my son has spent here, we have watched him transform from a curious toddler into a confident learner. The process my son has made is incredible. The Curriculum at TLE goes far beyond basic childcare. He has learned Sign language and Spanish which is great in comparison to my childhood. It's been amazing to see him hit new milestones and develop strong social skills through their play-based approach. As he prepares to leave for "big kid school," the difference is clear: he is exceptionally prepared. Thanks to their focus on Kindergarten readiness, he isn't just meeting benchmarks-he's exceeding them. He has the academic foundation and the classroom confidence to step into his next chapter without missing a beat. The staff doesn't just watch the kids-they truly adore them. From the patient teachers to the wonderful administrators, the level of care is outstanding. We've always had complete peace of mind knowing he is in a safe, loving atmosphere where the teachers go "above and beyond." Clarkston is a tight-knit community, and the center is a big part of that. We have loved the events they host, which show how much they care about our local area. Some of our favorite highlights include Themed Adventures, Family Date Night and Community Connection. If you are looking for a place where your child will be loved, challenged, and treated like family, I cannot recommend The Learning Experience in Clarkston enough!!

Everyone is patient with us. Every teacher we have ever had, even the ones we were uncertain about at the start, have all adored our daughter and treated her better than family. Her current teachers, Rachel, Dina, and Gigi are so attentive and kind. We truly enjoy talking to them at pick up and drop off. Most of all, I want to acknowledge that daycare is expensive and it's hard to leave your baby with others. I can say with all honesty that my wife and I utter the phrase, "worth every penny," multiple times a month. Our daughter has excelled here and gotten so many experiences and built so many relationships that we would never have had the time or resources to provide working full time.

Haviland elementary school; First the parking lot is a joke…read more There is a teacher on a blow horn yelling out children's names like a military camp. In fact, the same teacher, first year of teaching doesn't have any control of her classroom, she sends students to other grades, and classrooms if she can't handle the child. She needs to take a class or, go back to school herself, and learn to respect children, and the right way to discipline children. She is a bad asset for this school. Haviland Elementary used to be a great learning environment NOT ANYMORE. Mrs. Matthews is the greatest teacher she needs to teach her peers how to be a great teacher. Beware if your child has Miss Watts no communication skills or, motherly love for children. So glad this year is almost over now, to rebuild my son's self confidence and insecurities that she destroyed.

This is Schoolcraft Elementary...The teacher last year and the principal were awful to me, my son…read moreand especially my daughter. The teacher excluded my daughter. She told other kids to tattle on my daughter if she talked (and she doesn't). The principal yelled at my daughter and even told her she did nothing wrong. When asked what she wanted in a teacher this year, she said one that doesn't yell and one that when you ask an academic question, it gets answered and you don't get ignored. The principal made it impossible to communicate with the teachers, even though there was a physical altercation with my son and other boys...as we were teaching our kids a lesson on the importance of homework, my daughter did not turn in homework for months..yes...months...and we were never contacted about it. She is above average in most subjects and since preschool her reading level as always increased..it stagnated this year...not surprising...she would come home crying from school wanting to be homeschooled or even a different school...at a meeting, the teacher didn't seem like she cared less and the principal looked inconvenienced and didn't care. I heard good things and awful things the summer before we attended there...If there are good teachers there...well...we really didn't get them. There have been complaints by families and employees about the principal there...and nothing has been done that I have seen. Second chances are one thing, but it should be looked into when children are involved.
