When I saw the driver approach the locked bus marked 150, I simply asked "excuse me, but is this 150 bus active?" And all this woman said was "is that what he told you?" referencing my husband who was next to me, then proceeded to go into her bus and close the doors. A few minutes later the bus changed its designation to "Garage" picked up passengers from the 150 stop and took off. It takes zero effort to be polite and answer a question (do your job). I was gobsmacked.

I was on the bus thinking I'm leaving Miami Dade to go to Tri-Rail but I came back to where I was just picked up. I was trying to go take the bus and get off at the main downtown city. Luckily, there were nice passengers that noticed I was a lost tourist so they helped me out and said, 'yes you're on the correct bus, just stay on.' And they let me know which stop to get off of. I felt safe on the bus then with the helpful passengers around me. I suggest changing the map that's hanging on the bus. It was so confusing because I was looking for a Bus# and couldn't see any bus #'s on the actual train where the license plate is, nothing. I usually have no problem getting around and can follow a map, but the announcements weren't in sync with the Bus # I was trying to find and something was just completely off. Hopefully this gets fixed.

No food was provided this time. That should have been mentioned on the website because there were people in my group that were relying on the appetizers. Instead they bought food at Tokyo Blue and were pleased with it. Busses were running every few minutes so pickup was quick. Later in the evening the busses were very full and we had to wait for two busses to go by before getting on one at Tropic Cay. We skipped Sopranos at Beach Place because it has really gone downhill there. We went back to Bokampers and had more food. Overall, the loop was very efficient and the staff is friendly. Every place is so different from the last and they all have very decent drinks given they're free! I believe it was Lucky's that even had champagne as an option. The busses are a lot of fun as long as you get on with the drunken group of people falling all over the place, it's so much fun to watch them all. We found some pretty cool spots that any other time we really wouldn't walk into. The only stop that was a letdown was Fork and Balls- which looks awesome inside and smells of amazement as well, but the bartender claimed to have "Ran out of liquor" at 9pm on a Saturday night- so apparently they were pretty bitter and unwilling to stick to their agreement with the Bus Loop. Minus crappy service from the one place, I would definitely do this again and again. It's a fun night out for a great deal.

You could start at one of the many spots in Downtown than it goes up Hollywood Blvd. heading east to the beach. Now depending on weather you chose a North or Southbound depends on where you go next. We were on a Southbound so it drove up A1A as far as the Diplomat than heads Northbound up A1A. We were dropped off at Margaritaville. After it drops us off it continues North to Sheridan and A1A. It loops around Hollywood North Beach Park. This is the lowest priced transportation to get you to the beach for only $1. Per person. The parking is very limited and is way more cost effective than parking which could run as high as $4. an hour. Now you can also take the Broward County bus but that is $2 Per person. One evening several weeks ago we were out later than the last Trolley that leaves Margaritaville 10:30 PM. so we took Uber home. The City and County do a good job of having connections (Sun Shuttle, BCT [Broward County Transit]) - but a walk downtow will take a good 30 - 45 min. As to the actual station, there's not enough benches... or trash cans. There's also so much anxiety if the train is coming, if you're on the right platform, the trains don't run late enough, and the transit cops can often be... brusque. But it's such a net positive to have rail options (with signage and audio message in three (3!) languages) in this urban-surburban-car-dominated-megaopolis. This route circles the entire South Beach area and it has been one of the best services that you can find in the beach. It is so convenient! If you are ever on one end of the beach and want to get to the other the best way to get there is to just hop on the Local. No need to walk in our 90+ degree weather or move your car if it really is in a great parking spot. Cons -What keeps it from being a 5 star rating? Although most buses are in good shape, there are a couple that are dirty..graffiti, wear and tear and I know I have seen a couple of roaches in the back of one bus. ick. Sometimes the buses don't run 10-15 minutes apart, they are back to back, so you have to wait ages for the next one to pass by. But that is the exception not the norm. Pros - It is only 25 cents. It goes down West Ave from Publix and then down Alton and up Washington and through Dade Blvd. Depending on the time of day it runs every 10-15 minutes. It has a/c. For those who ride a bike, they do have a bike rack in the front of the bus. Great for going to the beach if you live on the west end. It normally is not very packed and all sorts of people use it. Not like the the metromover in downtown/brickell which serves as housing for our homeless population at times. All in all very good service for a very important local convenience. Check it out.

I was able to catch the trolley a couple of times, but no matter what time of day I caught it, It was packed. Standing room only. Sometimes it was so packed that the driver just passed me at while I was at the stop and just waved me off. The trolley was relatively clean,, but it appears that there are not many rules, at least ones being enforced. I saw people on the trolley with lots of luggage and even a motorized scooter. The trolley has clearly marked stops, for the most part, but appeared to not be on any type of schedule. There would be 30 to 40 minutes between trolleys, then you would have trolleys 2 back to back. I would say that I was able to catch the trolley about 50% of my attempts. You can track the trolley's movement via the app to keep you updated as to where they are at in real time. The trolley is ADA compliant and most have a lift in the back. They also have A/C, which is a plus. I almost wish that they would charge a small fee like a dollar to ride, to free up some space. It appeared that some people were riding because they were just bored. Anyway, I love this concept and that people have an affordable way to get around the city. I just wish there was more space available on them and that heir schedule was more reliable.
