I just had the most wonderful experience with James Avery…read more Born and raised in Texas, I now live in San Francisco, Ca and work as a Certified Child Life Specialist at one of the local hospitals (we provide developmentally appropriate preparation and support for pediatric patients). One of our oncology patients finishes her last round of chemo next week, and as a celebration of the end of her treatment, our department, as well as her entire medical team at the hospital, is going to throw her a party. We were trying to think of a great gift to get her, a 16 year old girl, and when the idea of a charm bracelet was mentioned, I immediately thought of James Avery! We scoured the internet for various charms bracelets and charms, and no where else compared to James Avery in terms of selection AND price. For starters, James Avery was the only affordable place we could find whose selection was 100% sterling silver (which is crucial since our patient has an allergy to nickel). The charms were by far the most cost efficient, and not gaudy in the slightest (this is a California teen after-all). After we placed the order, I realized I did not note for the charms to be attached to the bracelet prior to shipping. We had paid for 2 day shipping in order to get the bracelet to CA before her party on Monday morning, and when I called to ask about attaching the charms, I was told that attaching the charms would take 3 business days, and that the bracelet would not be delivered until Monday during the day if we chose not to attach the charms-- either way, too late to present to our patient at her party. I was immediately connected to the manager, Casey (spelling ?). Casey was AMAZING! Not only did she expedite the order and get the charms put on immediately, she changed our shipping to overnight shipping, free of cost to us. My heart is so warmed by Casey and her generosity, and by this company. I cannot wait to see our patient's face when she opens up her charm bracelet! It's not very large, but you can get a nice idea of how jewelry was made, the forms, the designs, and the process as well. You can watch a few videos and sit in his old art desk, too. The other side has a lot of jewelry, which seems well-priced for what it is. I didn't get anything, but it's also nice to window shop sometimes. Parking is in a smaller lot, so it can fill up.

We waited six months for a custom 25th anniversary ring to be built, only to receive a final piece that was crooked and poorly made. After that, we were very discouraged about starting the process over, so we decided to search rings styles online in hopes of finding something ready-made. I came upon a beautiful semi-mount in an online supplier's catalog, but wasn't sure if I could even find a jeweler who had access to that manufacturer. A few days later, we walked into Diamonds of Kerrville on our way to San Antonio (without any expectations, just sheer curiosity). We spotted a stunning cluster diamond ring in one of the cases and decided to purchase it for when we travel (SCORE!). While getting sized for that piece, I happened to show Dara the anniversary ring design I saved on my phone, but didn't say the name of the manufacturer. I expressed my anxiety about trying to find another jeweler that could create something like what I envisioned. She offered to check their catalog to try and find something similar to the picture I had (I said "sure, why not")... and to my surprise, it was the EXACT SAME SUPPLIER. This is too good to be true! So now, not only can we order the VERY ring I fell in love with, but we get to work with this amazing, friendly and knowledgable company... right in our home-town. Their stellar customer service made the experience even better! Martin and Sherrie were amazing and answered all my questions about the design process (plus I got a very informative crash course on stones, settings, appraisals, and practical tips for day-to-day wear).
