We came to see the small museum exhibit about the craftsman and his art form more than the store side. It's not very large, but you can get a nice idea of how jewelry was made, the forms, the designs, and the process as well. You can watch a few videos and sit in his old art desk, too. The other side has a lot of jewelry, which seems well-priced for what it is. I didn't get anything, but it's also nice to window shop sometimes. Parking is in a smaller lot, so it can fill up. read more

What a neat stop! Definitely one of the bigger James Avery stores I have seen, and I loved all of the behind the scenes stuff connected to it. It's basically like a little museum! I wish there was a tour of the whole place because there were a lot of interesting buildings around. read more

I stopped at James Avery to get a gift for my nephew. When I asked if there was anything new for men, I was directed to a few bracelets that looked more at home on a 250-pound biker than a 20 year old student. NO new crosses. NO new rings. NO new pendants. When I asked one of the employees about that, I was told James Avery doesn't make much for men anymore. Which is a shame, because not all men wear bracelets. I just had the most wonderful experience with James Avery. Born and raised in Texas, I now live in San Francisco, Ca and work as a Certified Child Life Specialist at one of the local hospitals (we provide developmentally appropriate preparation and support for pediatric patients). One of our oncology patients finishes her last round of chemo next week, and as a celebration of the end of her treatment, our department, as well as her entire medical team at the hospital, is going to throw her a party. We were trying to think of a great gift to get her, a 16 year old girl, and when the idea of a charm bracelet was mentioned, I immediately thought of James Avery! We scoured the internet for various charms bracelets and charms, and no where else compared to James Avery in terms of selection AND price. For starters, James Avery was the only affordable place we could find whose selection was 100% sterling silver (which is crucial since our patient has an allergy to nickel). The charms were by far the most cost efficient, and not gaudy in the slightest (this is a California teen after-all). After we placed the order, I realized I did not note for the charms to be attached to the bracelet prior to shipping. We had paid for 2 day shipping in order to get the bracelet to CA before her party on Monday morning, and when I called to ask about attaching the charms, I was told that attaching the charms would take 3 business days, and that the bracelet would not be delivered until Monday during the day if we chose not to attach the charms-- either way, too late to present to our patient at her party. I was immediately connected to the manager, Casey (spelling ?). Casey was AMAZING! Not only did she expedite the order and get the charms put on immediately, she changed our shipping to overnight shipping, free of cost to us. My heart is so warmed by Casey and her generosity, and by this company. I cannot wait to see our patient's face when she opens up her charm bracelet! I don't think any jewelry business is as dedicated to quality and customer service than James Avery. Every store of his is exactly the same, and every employee cares that you walk out happy with your purchase, and their concern doesn't end there. I purchased a charm that I was unhappy with because of the way it was wearing. I phoned them and VOILA! Problem solved. I have not been impressed at all with the people who represent them at Dillards, but I understand they are Dillard's employees and not James Avery's which is a shame. I've been a customer for over 10 years when we first moved to Texas. I wondered what all the fuss was about this company, but one trip to their store and it was clear. This is such a classy place, set on beautifully manicured grounds just off I-10 in Kerrville. They have a small vistor center where you can hear the background of James Avery and a window that allows you to see the craftsmen at work. Their retail shop will tempt you with hundreds of fine pieces of jewelry, mostly set in silver. The prices are reasonable considering the quality. This is the headquarters for James Avery Craftsman, who now has shops throughout Texas and surrounding states. No charge for the visitor center. Allow about 1 hour for the stay. read more

We ended up stopping by as we were in the area and a friend had recommended checking the retail store out. I had never been to one of their stores but I love jewelry so we stopped in to check it out. The retail store and visitor center is very nice and modern. Excellent bathrooms too! There are places to sit for those who are not shopping. Beautiful showroom with a museum detailing the birth of James Avery Jewelry. My daughters love their products and my wife and I dropped by to pick up a Christmas gift for the oldest one. The staff was very friendly and professional. A nice gentlemen helped us as soon as we walked through the doors. There was no pressure to buy. I ordered two pair of earrings hours before noon on May 5, 2022 for Mother's Day because on my phone it read, "free 2 day delivery" I received a delivery May 9, 2022 the Monday after Mother's Day. In that package one pair of earrings was missing and one of the earrings that did arrive was defective in that the back did not catch on the post. On the 9th I sent a letter. By the following Saturday, May 14, 2022, I had not received any contact from James Avery so I took the packaging and defective earrings to my local store. The manager replaced the defective pair could not help with the missing pair despite the language at the bottom of my receipt. The receipt did not contain a phone number but the manager of my local store provided one. I called the 1-800 number May 14, 2022 and explained everything above, I was promised me the missing pair would be in the mail that day. May 18, 2022 Becky finally replied to my letter in which I requested compensation for the flowers I purchased for Mother's Day because I had no earrings on Mother's Day. She said 2 day delivery per James Avery Website means I would have had to order by May 3, 2022 to receive my package by May 7, 2022 and May 9, was the correct delivery date. She completely disregarded the fact that even by her math in which 4 days is a 2 day delivery per James Avery I did not receive a single usable pair of earrings on May 9, 2022. So this J.A place is the original place..Home to where it all started. I love that the campus was so big. I love that the staff have places outdoors they can enjoy. I love the little museum they have and the history lesson. It's inspiring and informative and we got a few posters to hang on the wall. They show you some of the process of how they make their items. You have a window where you can see the craftsmen work. Then you have the retail store. My husband got me a charm bracelet and some charms as there was a sale going on. They also put the charm on and the turnaround was just an hour or so. Loved it so much! read more

Go to the store and talk directly with the sales person. Web orders are a nightmare. I was not given a refund of $80 for three weeks after having to cancel an order due to their misinformation. I had to call 9 times, email twice and still it took three weeks. Each time I was told that I would have my credit within 24 hours. NIGHTMARE. Nice jewelry. HORRIBLE SERVICE over the phone if things go wrong. And the lady SHERRY who answered my call could not have been more rude.
