Because of the brain injury he was agitated at times. He was put in a room with another patient ( no problem). The nurse asked me to leave the room so they could access him. The nurse and another woman came out not ten minutes later and said he was so uncooperative and aggressive that they were sending him back to the hospital. They were not going back In the room because he might be a danger to the staff and himself. Now why would you leave a patient that has a fall risk and or danger to anyone in a room with another patient . I couldn't wait for the transfer back to the hospital to be fast enough. I WOUND NOT SEND A DOG TO THAT HELL HOLE!

They also had a terrible bedside manner was supposed to give my father his meds and instead told me they're not giving him his medicine they had not fed him and left him soiled in his bed. He had a stroke and was a bit out of it and could not speak up for himself until my mother got there. I immediately pulled him out and brought him home where he passed with love and kindness. I understand this is a place to pass however, for God sakes please do as the family requests or go find another profession. Karma never sleeps!

They handed me 3 sheets of paper with 12 names on each sheet and said please choose and we cannot make a recommendation. So, I looked up reviews to help and there is really nothing of substance except typical fake 5 star reviews with "lovely place" or a 1 star stupid reviews with things like "bad sofa". Not helpful when I need to know that the woman who brought me into this world 62 years ago needs me to help her leave this world. Take your loved one to Carpenter House in River Ridge. Trust me. Do not think about it anymore. Don't worry that you might make the wrong decision. Take them to Carpenter House and your burden will be lifted. Mine was. I won't bore you with the 4 other places I met with their representatives, listened to their bs, visited their facilities, blah, blah, blah. Carpenter House is THE only one you should consider. From the moment the ambulance took mom there at 9:00 at night from East Jefferson Hospital they were wonderful, supportive, eager and capable to ease her discomfort. We spent 3 days there and I was there 22 hours a day (I went home to shower). I watched them with my mom; they explained everything I wanted and needed to know...what is happening with her, why it's happening and what I could expect. Their level of care was unlike anything I have ever seen in a medical facility and I could not have been more impressed with Terrence, Lourdes, Daphne, Ahsaki, Cathy and Carol. I truly believe that hospice is their calling and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. The facility is tucked away from traffic, dramatically clean, spacious and the absolute perfect place for your loved one who cannot make this decision for themselves. I have a family member who also works with this agency. She was receiving notifications about shifts at East Jefferson hospital but not me. I was told i would be making 23.00 an hour to do COVID swabs at a school. Turns out they lied. These ppl only give shifts to their white counterparts and not African American workers, i wasted my time energy and effort with these ppl.

Very awkward. The staff is nice, but the service and help is greatly lacking. My family member asked for assistance to the bathroom no one ever came. So soon the need to go to the bathroom past. Now the family member is scared to eat anything. One, the food is awful second they're afraid if they do have to have a bowel movement no one will help get them to the bathroom in time or they will not show up at all. I am there every day for hours and witnessed this. I am so disappointed in this place. Everything in the room is old. Wires stung across the wall. The food table doesn't roll. You have to manhandle the thing is get it place. I brought a tv remote because the remote there wasn't working. I asked 3 times about getting a new remote to no avail. The bed sounds like it falling apart when you move in the bed or raise the bed up or down. Physical therapy seem to be ok but the rest of the care needs a great amount of improvement. I would not sent my dog to this place

This place needs to be shut down. Patients are sitting in the hall facing the wall. It takes 3…read morehours to change a diaper on a patient. In the mealtime the patient goes again in the same wet diaper and it gets all over their clothes & bedsheets. The patient is stripped down and they have to sit in a wheelchair for another 3 hours before the sheets are changed. When the family takes their concerns and frustration to the Heather the manger, she addresses the issue with the worker and then worker will go into the room and confront the patient. This is intimidation so the patient will not say anything to their family about how they are being treated. I consider this a form of abuse. The thermostat in the room does not work. It's was 85 degrees in the room. I repeatedly asked 4x for this to be fixed. The food is served cold because the staff is too busy talking the in the hall or on their cell phones. The place has absolutely no supervision what so ever and it is worse on the weekend. My aunt was suppose to get her pain medication 3x per day. She kept complaining the medicine was not working. We found out they were giving her Tylenol instead of the prescribed medication. The nurse Haddie laughed and said she could not find the pain meds. Miraculously after questioning the situation, she found the meds. The front desk never answers the phone. There are no phones in the room so you cannot communicate with the patient. My list goes on and on. The staff does whatever they please and nothing can be done about it. I have never seen such poor management and the staff really does not care. Please don't put her family member in this place. It is a horrible. I am working on getting my family member moved ASAP and start an investigation on the facility.
