They also had a VIP tent, with liquors/cheese/and chocolate (but I can't review it - we did base) The place is 90% Colorado beers, and that can serve you just fine. Avery, Breck, Wits end, boulder brew, the list goes on (3 tents full). Some of the standouts - a Colorado Cider Company Lemon Grass cider . . .Paradox brewing barrel aged sour AND IPA. This event has one more day, score a ticket and go. Its fun. . .though get a designated driver . . .

Plenty of room to move and hang out with friends. Parking was easy, bathrooms were never a problem, and generally the clientele was well behaved! I also enjoyed the live music and various contests and raffles throughout the afternoon! In addition to three large tents full of beer, there were also a handful of tasty food trucks (pizza, tacos, ice cream, etc) to counter the liquid calories. I had purchased VIP tickets through LivingSocial, which was totally the way to go. VIP got you in an hour earlier and access to the distillery tent where they were pouring delicious local spirits, experimenting with some cocktail combinations, and also had a VIP-only BBQ tent that was handing out free samples. My 23-year-old daughter was refused service because staff claimed her valid Nevada driver's license was fake. We completely understand the importance of checking IDs and complying with liquor laws, but the way the situation was handled was unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. When I approached the bar to order a drink for myself and my daughter, I was largely ignored while staff discussed the situation amongst themselves. When my daughter presented her ID again, she was told it was fake because it did not pass a "flashlight test" and was sarcastically directed to a bar across the street that supposedly "accepts any IDs." What bothered us most was that multiple staff members openly discussed the situation in front of other customers and continued to watch and stare at our group throughout our visit. Rather than handling a concern privately and professionally, the interaction felt embarrassing, accusatory, and intentionally uncomfortable. If there was a legitimate concern about the ID, that would have been understandable. However, there is a professional way to address those concerns, and this was not it. The establishment itself has a lot of character, which is why we stopped in, but the customer service experience left such a negative impression that we will not be returning.

As good as it gets!" + SPACE: Mile High Station is a great venue for this Fest! It def embodies Colorado. It's a turn of the century steel and ironworks building that has been repurposed into and event space! Love the character. The only drawback here is the parking! The lot is super small. If you have a light-rail station near you I'd say take that to Mile High Stadium and walk over from there. It's not even a ten minute walk. + BREWERS: The line up is always fantastic! Obvs Colorado breweries dominate the show, but there's plenty of others in attendance too! Over the years I have even seen brewers from my hometown in Northern California in attendance. Colorado breweries often include names such as: Denver Beer Co, Stem Ciders, Crooked Stave, Grist, Wild Cider, Ratio Beerworks, Verboten, Weldworks, Strange Craft, Little Machine, Pikes Peak, Oscar Blues, and sooo many more. + FOOD TRUCKS: My personal favorite has been on-site for each Fest to date. Basic Kneads. It's pizza done awesome. Plus The Goods is usually on hand serving up some excellent smoked and grilled meats. Turkey leg anyone? + ENTERTAINMENT: There's a live band for each evening. This year featured Nevermind the 90's and Super Doppler. Usually the band is set up on a stage outside or in a tent area outside (depending on weather). They have speakers set up all around to ensure you can hear the tune regardless of where you are in the venue. + PRICE: At only $35 for general admission and $45 for VIP, I can safely say this is one of the cheapest Fests out there. But don't let the cheap cost fool you. They really deliver! A suggestion I would have for the future would be a two day pass offering. For those who want to check out both days of festivities. I say it's enough to keep me and my friend happy and all our curiosity about a few of the breweries were met. Here you'll be able to talk to the person responsible for the creation of the brew or someone who knows the history of the brew. This two story location can host a bunch of beer loving fun people. The food was hosted in a separate space past the tented area where the live entertainment is located. I had their amazing kielbasa and I'm regretting not asking for the lady's info :( This event has a two tiered ticket pricing. One for the VIP at a discounted rate of $45 if you purchase in advance. $55 at the door the day of. The VIP lets you in an hour early from 6-7. General admission starts at 7pm and will set you back $35 advance purchase and $45 day of. Tip: CASH ONLY AT THE DOOR. Free coat check. Your tix is only good for one day. Want to show up both days? Not just on their fabulous ciders, but also on their concept and execution. Plus everyone who works there is beyond friendly. Needless to say when I saw that they were having a fest: I was in! At $10 per ticket, this is one of the cheapest fests you're going to find in the Denver area. Plus your ticket cost goes towards a great cause: The Can'd Aid Foundation. Which supports music, arts, and culture! All the warm fuzzies! However, unlike most fests, you do pay per pour on top of your entrance fee. That was a little unexpected, but not terrible. The awesome folks at Stem Ciders had a few special tappings throughout the event. My personal favorite was a Hibiscus Ginger Firkin. I could seriously drink that one on the regular. Sooo yummy! They had several different bluegrass bands playing throughout the day, food trucks (including a vegetarian option), and a tricycle race. The tricycle race was hilarious! They divided everyone up by age so younger kids didn't have an unfair size advantage to the adult counterparts. Oh! Did I mention this was a family friendly event as well? It is! Love this new live music venue!…read more Tickets: The Federal has the same owners as The Oriental, so you can get tickets for The Fed at The Oriental's box office as well the box office at The Fed and online. You will save yourself some money on fees if you pay cash at either venue's box office. Balcony: There is a tiered balcony upstairs where everyone can see the stage while seated. Don't be the asshat that goes up to the balcony and stands in front of people. Upstairs is for seated enjoyment of the show. Downstairs is for standing. ADA Seating: There are a few ADA seats available downstairs near the stage. Be aware, the main floor is sloped, so you'll need to navigate that sloped floor to get to the ADA seats. Drinks: There is a bar downstairs near the main entrance that is double-sided, so you can get drinks in the lobby or at the back of the venue main floor (similar to Boulder Theater). If you use a card, they will close you out with each transaction (no opening a tab and no hassle to close your tab at the end of the show). Parking: There is no parking lot for the venue. All parking is on the street. Plan ahead and give yourself time to hunt for a spot. Rideshare: If you take a rideshare, DO NOT use the venue address, use an address around the corner. There is no space to pull off on Federal in front of the venue. Federal is a very busy street. It is incredibly unsafe to have your Uber stop on Federal in front of the venue. You are very likely to get rear-ended. Events: Highly recommend you follow the venue on Facebook. This is the way I hear about all the new shows they book, when tickets go on sale and when they do special deals on tickets.
