Called after the second text to see what the deal was. Had to reschedule. Received yet another text three days before the second appointment advising that the dentist yet again was not going to be in the office and had to reschedule. We'll see if they cancel yet again. My family has been going to this Mortenson for over 5 years, and we have nothing but great things to say about the people who work here. Dr. Lisa is kind and thoughtful, and while Candace is a dream on teeth cleaning, I trust everyone there to get the job done professionally. I can't speak to other folks' experiences, but the times I've had appointments that needed to be rescheduled, they were expedient and worked to get me in as soon as possible. My son needed his crown fixed and we had a lapse in insurance coverage (not their fault) I offered to pay out of pocket and they gave me the run around. The paranoia with these people is crazy and caused me so much stress running around trying to find someone to help my son. I guess they think I wouldn't pay out of pocket or something. The good... I do like Dr. Sauk. I have spent more than my fair share of time in a dentist chair and I have left many an office to never return. Dr. Sauk is not one of these dentists. With the treatment plan that we are working thru, I do feel comfortable with the work that is being done with very little after effects. The bad... This has nothing to do with Dr. Sauk, but rather the billing and my insurance company. While the front staff are polite and hospitable and do what they are paid to do, to this date I have not had a single bill reconcile with my insurance company. I do hope that this corrects itself soon, but at this point, the difference between the two statements is growing in more than uncertainty. read more

Looking for a new dentist in the Ft. Wright area and came across MFD. Checked online earlier this week and to my surprise they had appointments open in the same week! Scheduling online was a breeze and I was even able to fill out all of my paperwork ahead of time, which saved me a ton of time sitting in the office. The office itself was very clean and well kept. Staff was extremely friendly! My appointment was at 11:30, so I arrived a few minutes before. A quick check of insurance and ID, and I was immediately brought back. The X Rays were very quick and I waited maybe two minutes after this was complete before seeing the doctor for my exam. I needed some extra work done and they actually got me moved over to another room and completed all in the same visit. Sandra (dental hygienist) was phenomenal. She is newer to this location, but has been with MFD for many years. She was very detailed with my treatment plan and even covered all my insurance and cost out of pocket with me up front. She was very patient with me and extremely gentle as I let her know being at the dentist is one of my biggest fears! I look forward to seeing her again on my next visit! read more

This place is ridiculous. FOUR times my appointment for my cleaning has been canceled because the hygienist no longer works there. Why make the appointment with a specific person? Apparently there is a management issue if the employees are not the same after only 6 month. This is not a dependable office. I do not recommend them. read more

I'm moreso writing to give kudos to Sandra Gray, who was my dental hygenist. What is normally just a routine teeth cleaning was made an exceptional experience due to the kind, educational, and thoughtful nature of Sandra. The first appointment was on President's day February 19th. The day of, I get notified the offices are closed and I need to reschedule. The appointment got rescheduled to March 18th. The morning of March 18th I get a message to notify me that my appointment is canceled again due to staffing issues. If your time is important to you please find a dentist that will respect it. Have been going to this location for years. Had an upcoming appointment on the 13th of November and just received a text saying due to staffing shortage that they would need to reschedule. I call the office to reschedule my appointment and Elizabeth answers and puts me on hold saying she needs to get a supervisor, after 10 minutes the call ends. I call back and speak with a different person who tells me the earliest i can get in is April of next year. I have to be put on a wait cancelation list. If I could give this place no stars I would. When I first went to this place they were sweet and kind verified all insurance and I payed for the work I was going to have done, also put 1,000 credit into my account to have more work done. Well I did the original work that I payed for. About a month later I get a phone call I owe them 3,000 for the work they did on me because something went wrong with my insurance. I unknowingly was dropped from my insurance. When I said why did they do the work if I didn't have insurance.. if I didn't I wouldn't have done the work or paid the difference of my insurance. The lady screamed at me and they took the 1,000 credit from my account.... I feel due to the lack of someone not doing their job and verifying my insurance correctly I was swindled into massive debt. read more

What was starting out as a 3-star review really turned around during my first visit to Mortenson Family Dental. When it comes to the dentist, I have pretty awful anxiety. I recently switched from a different dentist, so my nerves were a bit high strung when I went into the office. So without further ado.... First, the bad: I signed in and filled out all the paperwork fifteen minutes prior to my appointment like I was instructed to. Then, I waited. The office was running about 30 minutes behind schedule and I was definitely starting to get antsy. The lobby was way too hot and I could hear other customers talking about the temperature as well. Even if there was a fan installed just to keep the air moving, I think that would help! So, on top of my anxiety, I was starting to sweat a bit, and then there were the children... the loud obnoxious children. Parent's reading this... It's true, I don't have kids and I'm sure I can't relate to the struggles. However, loud kids in an already unpleasant situation made this much worse. I think on my next visit I'll bring ear buds to make sure that I can zone out and do my own thing. I would definitely urge the office to check out the temperature of the lobby. Alright, now the good: So you might be thinking "gee Tyler, that sounds unpleasant... Why did you write a 5 star review?" Two reason. One, once I went back for my appointment, they acknowledged the wait. Had this been completely ignored/unaddressed, I think I would have felt like they didn't have a pulse on their service skills. They offered a sincere apology and it was clear that unexpected circumstances had caused the delay. It was also MUCH cooler + more comfortable in the service areas. The rooms were all private and the staff was beyond polite. I like that everything was explained as they took x-rays and examined my teeth. I've had some not-so-great dental experience in the past so the little things really matter. While I hope the waiting room experience is better next time, I'm definitely happy to come back for the great staff that does dental work. read more

Will never use this dentist again. They sent our account to collections, despite being paid by insurance. They also improperly filed claims multiple times for the same services, and were unable to file the claims properly because they refused to file under the female insured carrier, and kept filing under the male spouses name, despite being told MULTIPLE TIMES not to do that and being provided current complete insurance cards with the proper billing and insured information. They are unable to provide accurate accounting information and statements, and the "manager" of the location doesn't know what they're doing and can't resolve any claim. The last time I went, I ended up with water all over my face and back during the dental cleaning, and the practice continually tries to push additional unnecessary services to help pad their bill. Who likes going to the dentist? No one that I know of. I have always HATED going to the dentist, it's uncomfortable and definitely not of my list of favorites. I thought that that was just how it had to be, BUT going to Mortenson has totally changed my mind. They are extremely friendly, caring, considerate and everything about my visits are much more comfortable and something that I no longer dread. I have been going here for years. We moved 1 hour away and my crown fell off. Went to them to look at it. Pulled my tooth and took impressions for a bridge. Said they will call when it comes in. I paid up front $1689.96 for everything. March 2 I called to find out if my bridge came in. She said no I have to come back in for another impression. It has been 4 months and I wouldn't have known this because they never called me I called them. At this point I said to deduct what I owe for him pulling my tooth and refund the rest and I will go to someone around me. She said someone would call me back. No call back. I called 3-13-23 she said they sent to collections 750.52. Why I paid in full. She didnt know why but they sent that to collections on March 2 when I called. I would never go to them and will make sure all social media knows how they run this business and treat patience. After they pulled my tooth it was still numb but later it hurt so bad I called to asked them to send something in for pain. It hurt for 3-4 days.I was crying it hurt so bad. What a joke. Not a good dental experience. I could tell from the get go that my dentist was inexperienced and after further research into this place, I realized this place is a mill for young dentists just out of school. This is a corporate dental corporation and they really only care about production numbers and not the patients. The dentist turnover rate is very high, which is never good because the person I saw at my first visit probably won't be there when I go back. But I will not be going back anymore even after 1 visit. I had a filling fall out and wanted to just get it fixed with another filling and that's it. But they tried to push for pulling it and then an implant? what? and then she said they could just do a crown and I was interested in how the first diagnosis said the tooth was not restorable and needed to be taken out and then it switched to simply a crown. Obviously she was trying to sell me the more expensive thing and then switched. I finally just got the filling which was what I wanted all along and it seemed to go well until the numbing mediation wore off and it was so high it started hurting a few days later. I went back in and had to get it adjusted again but for my next dental appointment I am going to go to a private practice office with a dentist with some experience. read more

This dentist is fantastic!! I went there for a check up in July and they did a wonderful job with my cleaning and X-rays. Dr. Abadi is terrific and the whole staff are awesome! I recently had to go back for a chipped tooth and again they did a great job. They got me in quick and fixed my tooth right up. I highly recommend this dental office!!! read more
