Unrelated, but when calling them just now to reschedule an appt for my boss, Google lists two different numbers and their website has a third number. Shocker, all if the numbers lead to the same time with a menu to choose from. There is always ample parking out front and it is a safe area. They are located on the main floor, just follow the signs and you can find it easy peasy. The staff is always super nice and attentive. I am always greeted when walking in and not left to wonder if I need to sign in or if I am going to be left waiting or anything. I have always been taken back in a timely manner and have never had to be there more than maybe 45 minutes in total for a routine visit. Dr. Ott is super nice and a great dentist. The hygienists are always thorough, painless, and thoughtful. They think about the whole picture of your oral/teeth health and take your insurance into account when deciding on testing. I got talked into a consultation for crowns on my front 4 teeth - "to improve" my smile. Dr. M S played on an insecurity and I fell for it. Two days before the appointment I called to cancel. I had changed my mind. My gut was screaming at me to not do it. I told the office manager, Ms. M that I wanted to cancel my appointment. She said, "Sure, no problem. Can I have your name?" I gave her my name and she sucked in her breath dramatically and said, "Oh no, Michelle! You can't cancel. Dr. Marc has allotted 2-3 hours for you. There isn't enough time to get patients in to fill those slots. Why do you want to cancel?" I told her that I had changed my mind. That I didn't want to go through with the procedure. That I was extremely anxious and that my gut was telling me not to proceed. She said, "Why are you so anxious? Dr. Marc is one of the best. He does fantastic work and you'll be very happy with it when it's done." I started to cry. I told her I did not want to do it. She told me that I could not cancel the appointment. And against my better judgment I went to the appointment. That was the start of permanently ruining my teeth, my speech and my eating. My life has been turned upside down. The very first day when the numbing wore off I had searing pain in my teeth. I had extreme cold and heat sensitivity in my teeth. I was drooling and had a terrible lisp. I was told that it was because it was the temporary teeth and the permanent ones wouldn't cause a lisp and that the pain would go away with time. It did not. I called several times and had a few visits and many, many X-rays in the four month period after the first visit to get the crowns put on. Why? Because I was in so much horrible pain that I couldn't eat and I couldn't sleep. I was told that nothing was wrong. Well, I had abscesses! And my teeth had died because it had been left for so long. It took 4 months for them to find the infections and by then it took 4 rounds of antibiotics to bring the infections down. Which destroyed my stomach. I had pain up into my nasal cavities and cheek bones but I was told that there was nothing wrong with me for 4 months. I was then told that I needed root canals to fix the damage. Dr. M did the two root canals. And I still had terrible pain. I was told there was no reason for me to have pain and was being treated like it was all in my head. So, they finally decided to do a 3d panoramic X-ray. I had to see a specialist. I needed an endodontist and would likely need an apicoectomy. Surgery! I found an endodontist in my insurance network, since the one he referred me to and sent my X-rays to were not in my network. But they would not send my endodontist my X-rays. The X-rays were requested multiple times and were never sent. I had to go to their office and tell them that I wanted my X-rays for surgery. The endodontist said that there is significant bone loss due to how long the infections were let go in my mouth. Four months of ignored infections caused permanent bone loss. I had a new hydro-therapy procedure and the root canals redone. I was told that the root canals had not been done properly and the infection had not been properly cleaned out. I still had infection in my teeth 5 months on from getting the crowns. I have not had the apicoectomy. Yet. It is likely in my future because I still can not eat the way I used to. I can no longer tear or rip foods with my front teeth. I can no longer eat anything chewy or bite into things like crusty bread or bagels. And forget about ever biting into an apple again or eating corn on the cob. I still have pain in front teeth when there's any kind of pressure on them, ie - pushing with my tongue or my teeth coming together. It's been a year since the initial procedure and I still have pain. Oh, and I still have a slight lisp. Yep, at 53 years old I now have a lisp because of this dentist! I was also told that losing those teeth completely down the road is still a possibility. What a nightmare! Who wants to hear that they may lose their two front teeth! All of this has cost me thousands and thousands of dollars. When me and my family left this practice after what they did to me I could not get my dental records and X-rays sent to my new dentist. The office requested multiple times, and just like the endodontist, could not get them. I had to show up at the office and tell them that I wanted them sent right then and I waited in the office until they sent them over. If you value your teeth, your health, and your money then you should avoid this dentist office at all costs. My life has been permanently altered by this office and I will never eat or talk the same again.

Unfortunately, it is not a good one. I totally can empathize that emergencies happen. While they will tell you (and probably respond to this post) that I'm a "monster", it's quite the misunderstanding. In my opinion, if there is a personal emergency it's best to go take care of what you need to do. Context: I first had a scheduled for optional dental work October 16th. I was given proper reminders on October 14th for an upcoming appointment. It was mere hours when I was called to be informed I must be moved as Dr Lowe must provide anesthetic, and she had a personal emergency. Fine. I understand and had no problem. Unfortunately, I had moved all of my meetings / took time off for this planned 2 hour visit and considered it an unfortunate event. My next appointment date was scheduled for Monday, November 4th, three weeks after the originally planned date. I again take another half day off on the 4th. I was given prompt reminders, and a bizarre "warning" text a week out that failure to cancel in a 24 hour period of time would end up in a $100 cancellation. Ironic, but I sent a text back to confirm, ensuring that I would be there for this visit. Less than a business day before on Friday, November 1st in the afternoon, I receive another call from Clifton Dental Care. The receptionist informs me that due to another emergency, I must be moved again up to the 19th of November. Shocked - and time-constrained - I did in fact have more questions asked than answers and expressed concern. Again, I couldn't believe I found myself in another reschedule, another afternoon already approved to take off, zero consultation of a new date. It was as if they assumed that I could simply rebook meetings, work travel, etc. for this optional dental work. I simply stated (and, fairly, firmly) it was unacceptable. Sure, my frustration was noted, and I wanted to get in this same week of the cancellation if possible, or not at all. They left a message an hour later and, miraculously, got me in November 8th. I took a final half day off. November 8th comes - they complete the work, all goes very well. It was cordial, perhaps a little tense... sure, but fine. I paid for the work, and was sent on my way with after care instructions. Today, November 13, I received a MAILED LETTER stating "based on your recent interactions with our office, we think it's the best next step to find a new dental home where you will feel most comfortable, and perhaps you feel that way too." So... I guess my cleaning scheduled for December 12th isn't happening. How unprofessional. If you have a problem or we had a tense moment, state it in person; you were in the same room with me. Or, give me a call to express your feelings. Let me know that you felt offended, and please the provide me with more context so I understand why I was pushed so many times. In fact, maybe I was in the wrong, and I could have apologized. But this passive aggressive approach so unprofessional, especially without any concern for a patient taking a day and a half of PTO and having to cancel, reschedule and adjust meetings myself. Again, I must be clear: I absolutely understand things happen, but this is not how you treat patients, period. A gaslight soliloquy on mailed letterhead does not solve the issue. We have dental…read moreinsurance with 100 percent preventive coverage, and before each visit I confirmed with the front desk that our plan was active and in network. Despite that, I recently received two invoices--dated January 2026--for services performed in 2024 and 2025. These were the first and only notices I ever received. The statements show no insurance estimate, no insurance payment, and no prior balance, which strongly suggests the office either never submitted the claims or submitted them incorrectly. Preventive services should have been fully covered, and any failure to bill insurance or notify the patient for nearly two years is a provider issue, not a patient responsibility. When a dental office assures patients that insurance is in network, then sends surprise invoices years later with no explanation, it creates a serious trust and transparency problem. I hope they address the internal billing issues that led to this situation so other families don't experience the same frustration.
