Everyone says that Mosaic is the best caterer in Richmond, and they are right!! We had such an easy experience and LOVED working with Timothy. He was so FUN and listed to everything we said. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted for our big day. The food was incredible and our guests raved about it. The presentation was beautiful and their event staff was awesome. Literally no complaints.

My partner and I followed suit and hired For Love of Love, working closely with Ellie one-on-one for 19 months to plan and execute our wedding, which took place this past May. It's quite literally taken me three months to write this because I've struggled to put into words the effect that Ellie and her diligent, detail-oriented effort and positive, calm, encouraging demeanor (not to mention the quality of her taste/ eye for aesthetics...) had on not only the stellar outcome of the event itself but on my partner and me as humans, with little knowledge of the wedding industry, planning the most expensive event of our lives from across state lines. As creatives ourselves, we came to Ellie with lots of ideas and artistic preferences, and she helped us to get organized and translate those ideas into reality by working tirelessly to connect us with local vendors (like Olivera Floral Design, Common House, Richmond Photobooth, various rental companies and more) within our budget who understood our aesthetic, which required that Ellie truly know us as a couple. Her knowledge of the industry and best practices is extensive, and her willingness to go above and beyond for her clients is evident. Additionally, the professionalism that we experienced throughout the planning process was bar none...even in the most testing and emotional of moments involving family--Ellie's patience, positivity, and resolve were unwavering. The bottom line, booking the For Love of Love team is the best money you'll spend. Ellie and her team kept us in the know and ahead of our timeline. On the big day, we were enabled to be hands-off so that we could be as present as possible. I daresay Ellie became more than a wedding planner to us--she supported and encouraged our individualism, made light out of dark, and shared in celebrating our wins. We refuse even to consider what the day would've been like without her and the team. If you're waiting for a sign to take the plunge and hire For Love of Love--it's right here, baby!

Calling Lauren a wedding planner is an incomplete characterization. Lauren is a visionary, stylist, and strategist who is able to both design events and execute the logistics and tactics flawlessly. My husband and I (and our families) worked with Lauren for about 15 months to plan our recent Richmond, VA wedding for 170 guests at an outdoor venue. The entire process was not only painless but fun. As a super type A person, I was not sure I'd find a planning partner who would meet my micromanaging expectations. But Lauren was incredibly organized from Day 1 (I appreciate a good folder structure and Google Doc). She also made planning FUN! I was never overwhelmed, never felt uncertain on where things stood, and always was sure that Lauren and I were on the page with everything - aesthetics, budget, etc. Fast forward to wedding day, and dozens of wedding guests who had recently planned their own events raved that Lauren was the best wedding planners they'd ever seen in action. It was all perfect. She felt like family by end, and we will truly miss working with her!! Work with Lauren. Your wedding (and arguably, marriage) will be better if you do.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lindsay Kennedy and LK Events. From our first phone…read morecall with Lindsay I knew she would be the perfect mix of calm, reassuring, knowledgeable and incredibly detail-oriented. We hired Lindsay to be our month-of coordinator, but in the year leading up to the wedding Lindsay went above and beyond. Discussing details of the wedding with her was like talking to a close friend. We never felt like we were just a number or just "the October 1st wedding." She was so approachable, friendly and upbeat but her guidance showed a deep knowledge and shrewd understanding of all the inner workings of the wedding industry. She never let us get confused or led astray by other vendors because she instantly understood our personalities and our vision and put our minds at ease with every conversation. All of her preparations in the months leading up to the wedding allowed her to know our wedding like it was her own so that by the time we got to the big day I completely handed over all control and decisions to her and didn't have to worry or second guess anything. We had no hesitation trusting her to flawlessly execute every detail of the wedding - and she did! I am sure she answered a million last minute questions from vendors and guests and made quick decisions on things I would have never contemplated, but I never saw or heard it (and for that I am eternally grateful). Problems that could have derailed the day became insignificant hiccups - not only because of her quick thinking and creative problem solving, but also because she was calm, composed and smiling while she fixed the issues. You cannot help but feel relaxed and taken care of when Lindsay is in charge. She allowed us to keep our anxiety levels at a minimum and enjoy our day - something that is invaluable to any bride and groom. Lindsay is unstoppable. Torrential rain, mountains of DIY decorations to transport, last minute changes and even the birth of her child couldn't slow Lindsay down. Lindsay was on maternity leave just a few weeks before our wedding but she never missed a beat. She made sure we had coverage from her business partner Windy (who was also wonderful to work with) but we didn't even need it! She had everything so well-planned in advance of her short absence and she jumped back in so seamlessly afterwards that it was as if she never left. I was lucky enough to have a team of fantastic wedding vendors, but Lindsay was by far the best of the best. If you are debating whether or not to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, stop questioning it and talk to Lindsay at LK Events and Designs. You will not regret it!

EDITED: I added more photos to elaborate further on the review. I am a small business owner myself,…read moreso I know how imperative each contract can be. But because of that I think it is so incredibly important to be honest with yourself and your clients about what you can and cannot do. My sister never brought it up with Ashley because she did not want to give any bad feedback, but I would hate for another couple to experience the same on their wedding day. There is no point in hiring a coordinator if you are going to end up doing and planning it all yourself anyway. ______________ Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. My sister got married in Richmond in October of '24. I live in CA and helped her with whatever I could, but obviously, with a wedding, it helps to have someone with experience and knowledge of the industry and be hands-on on the ground. Enter Ashley. Now I did not work with Ashley directly nor do I know what her other skills entail, I can only go off of what I saw firsthand at both the rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding. Mind you, it's been a full 6 months at this point so this isn't even an emotion-filled rant or anything. I'd simply hate for this to happen to another couple. Your wedding is supposed to be the most important day of your life. And a coordinator is there to ensure it is, right? I've gone through Ashley's website page by page a dozen times to see if maybe we expected more than what was promised. My sister wanted her wedding to be very DIY, she had a very specific vision in mind for how she wanted it to look and feel. Part of that meant that they brought in a bunch of stuff from home. The few days before the wedding involved a ton of trips back and forth carting all the stuff to and from. I first met Ashley at the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. She seemed to know what she was doing as she was guiding the wedding party and officiant through what the ceremony would entail. The next morning, however, is when it became glaringly obvious that perhaps this was way more than one single person could handle. She was MIA when the groom tried calling and/or texting her so we ended up sending some family members to the venue to ensure someone would be there when vendors began to show up. They arrived about an hour or two before Ashley did. Since they had gotten a head start they had started decorating the church and reception area with all the fresh flowers. When they asked Ashley to takeover, she told them she wasn't a florist and therefore would not be handling any of the flowers. Fast forward to when the wedding party starts showing up and she is again, nowhere to be found. A bridesmaid is having issues with her dress and I told her to find Ashley as I know most coordinators usually carry a disaster kit with them with basic sewing essentials, I figured she'd have a safety pin or skin tape to help, but no one could find her. I'd say the worst of it though was everything after the wedding. While things had been somewhat consolidated to an area or two, stuff was thrown everywhere haphazardly. Maybe Ashley thought the other vendors were going to take care of it, maybe the other vendors thought she would? Either way, no one wants to show up the next morning to clean only to discover that nothing has been properly stored or put away! Most importantly, the goddamn cake! My sister did different pies instead of cake, it doesn't matter, she still wanted to keep them for their one-year anniversary. Where were the slices left? Outside, in a box, with other random leftovers that were left out overnight. I could go on and on about everything Ashley did and didn't do, but the truth is I would hate to have another couple hire her for a wedding only to find out the day of, they are going to be left on their own to figure it out for themselves. Coordinating parties is nothing compared to weddings and it is beyond disrespectful that someone would use their weekend side-hustle to sell a "month-of coordinator" service when what was given was anything but. Doing something as a hobby or because you are good at it is fine. But charging people hundreds or thousands of dollars to show up and not even do what you stated you would is just straight up nonsense.
