During my visits I experienced a variety of pastors preaching some really good. Attendees are asked for donations twice during service. Dr Jeff Kane emphasize in a sermon that our homes are God given showing great attitude. People outside of male, female gender are not welcomed, they sit in judgment with no compassion or space for healing in the community. Once you sign membership your assignments begin however your attendance to service becomes mandatory, after extensive consideration I revoke my membership to this church. We visited this church for the first time on Easter Sunday of 2017; and our entire families life has been changed like never before! From the moment we approached the gate there was a lighted signed that stated "first time visitors, turn your headlights on". We did so and noted that there were greeters there to meet us, along with special parking reserved for us!!! even though no one was expecting us!! The greeters were so efficient that by the time we parked, they were there to open open our doors for us with heartfelt Welcome!!, one of them, then escorted us to the welcome desk. On approaching the desk, I noted there were two ladies there, as i looked around for my family each of them were already engaged in conversation with someone of their age group or from one of the ministries of the church that might appeal to them. The welcome was so warm it felt homely!! and real, not fake and pretentious.... As we entered the sanctuary, again, everyone greeted us so warmly, My thoughts were lets see how long this last. The praise and worship was to die for..... not just a group of people singing but those that know how to Praise the Lord and to usher you into His presence to Worship the Father. It felt like I had died and went to Heaven. The SERMON....was not just a burst of loud barking, but the word of God being taught so simple, effectual and relevant, simple and succinct that a child can understand. Fastforward......... It's now been a year and am still attending Canaan Land and nothing has fallen off the cart or by the wayside. This church is all that a church should be and more homebase, a community partner, a school, a place of refuge, a place of fun and family time, a shelter, a hand in time of need just to name a few, this church is just phenomenal. If only all people would follow what the bible says, our world and our churches would be able to do what Christ wanted us & the church to do, which take care for and love each other. People who complain are usually the ones that do not tithe to the church. Tithing is the only thing that God says we can test him on, and believe me, He honors His word.

I didn't know what to expect on my first visit here, Blueprint is certainly a community church and many people I know have heard of it and have even visited before. So I was anxious to see what they had in store. LOCATION: They used to be located off Highland right next to Highland Bakery, but they moved into this new location, just down the street, off Boulevard. Now they're right in the heart of the OFW (Old Fourth Ward) This was the location I went to on my recent visit. (etc. highlands and ofw neighborhoods are essentially one in the same in regards to location as they are right next to each other). I believe they're still undergoing renovations since they literally just moved into the building. FIRST IMPRESSION: Everyone was nice. I was literally greeted at each door, and even had a long conversation with one of the parking guys. The atmosphere here is very open and positive. There's this relaxed cool hipster type vibe here with a Christian/Spiritual twist. MUSIC: Great praise team, it was easy to catch on to the songs and you actually want to because they're really good. CONGREGATION/PEOPLE: First impression was neat, after walking in the door I was greeted by another set of ushers one really cool bearded vintage-wearing southern hipster white guy -and- a really pretty model-esque looking black gal, both smiling and saying hey. Even in the rest room, the members I encountered when at the mirror were sweet. As described above this is a diverse congregation-- black, white, asian, other. There were lots of families, especially young families (folks in their 30s with new babies), as well as alot of singles. So I can definitely say they were equally diverse in the families vs singles category from what I could see. The church is also come as you are, so you can put a tie on or high heels -or- wear jeans, sweater and nice sneakers. SERVICE/SERMON: There was alot of music, and of course the standard offering/visitors/scripture reading/announcements. The Sunday I visited there was a Guest Pastor/Speaker, who I believe is a member. He was very animated with his analogies (maybe 1 too many 'hood' references, lol), but made some good points and gave a solid message. I can be uptight at time (its the southern priss in me, lol), so I was trying to be more mentally relaxed and casual so that I could better receive his 'street' style of preaching. :-) I will be returning again to hear the pastor speak and will update the review accordingly. I think service lasted an hour and a half. In by 10:30, out by 12. SUMMARY: Good vibes, Good people is a easy way to sum of the feeling. I didn't know what to expect, I think I actually thought I wouldn't like it so I was delightfully surprised at the warmth. 3.5/5
