We could not be happier with the landscaping work that Moss did at our home! They took care of all demo work, subsurface drainage, landscape pathway lighting as well as uplighting, garden installation, irrigation/sprinkler system, new driveway/sidewalk. The workers showed up 6 days each week until the job was COMPLETE (only 1 bad weather day!). Company is very attentive to detail and professional. Moss landscaping put in a very long drainage pipe for me last September. It was a tricky installation as we needed to allow rainwater to flow from my back yard to the street in front of my house, jackhammering through concrete, and with very little room for error on the pitch. My back yard used to be a swamp when it rained hard, now the water drains before I can even walk back there. This August they put in a new fence door. My old door -- 5'X6' -- was so warped it wouldn't close. They put in a new metal-reinforced wooden door that seems to me so sturdy it will last forever. Also I had neglected my landscaping for far too long and had huge areas of weeds around my house. They cleared all of that within two hours, plus cut down a small tree and a number of sweet olive bushes behind my garage and cleared a sizable rockpile and other shrubs and debris. The price to do this including putting down landscaping paper and limestone for weed control was very reasonable so that really it was a no brainer compared to doing it myself. When I saw the result it was like a miracle. I was thinking it would take me months and poof -- everything looks so neat, and should be very easy to maintain. They also did mowing, weed-whacking, and edging of my front yard and it looks great. I plan to do that on my own going forward, but if I were to have a yard maintenance service I would totally pick them. read more

Highly recommend working with Moss Landscaping for both pavers and landscaping! We had a modest budget, but wanted to improve our curb appeal along with keeping a low maintenance garden. We also wanted to add a pavers for a patio in the back and front walk. I got a few quotes and met with each company - they were the most reasonable and also most professional to work with. Sal coordinated everything with us and was great and easy to work with. He kept us updated every step of the way. They completed about 400 sq. Ft. Of pavers in 2 locations and full front and back landscaping in 2 days - it was amazing. When I arrived home on the second day I was amazed at how great it looked - better than I ever could have expected. We will use our backyard so much more now!! Pictures attached. read more

I would absolutely not recommend using Moss Landscaping. I had $4,000 worth of landscaping work done in April 2019. They were very communicative (working with Sal) prior to getting the work done. During this initial job, they damaged an existing landscape light fixture. I was told to order it, which I did, at a cost of $73. Numerous texts to Sal for payment went unanswered. I finally asked a neighbor who was using Moss to short pay his invoice and reimburse me. This past week I noticed a couple dead plants from the April work, and sent pictures to Sal and asking them to replace the dead plants. No response. I will replace them myself. Again, I will never recommend or use this company again. read more

worst company I have ever worked with. planted a garden in front and rear yard. ....plants died.. installEd a rear without running water to it. ask for a French drain and they installed a drain that looks like it's belongs on commercial property. they took all plants that we were moving from front yard and we were going to reused them rear yard. I hired Moss Landscaping to install a subsurface drainage system in my backyard and I really regret it!  I chose them because of the stellar reviews that they've received here and elsewhere. I later realized all those reviews were for landscape design, not drainage projects, and now I know why. They came off professional, courteous and confident when I interviewed them for the project and even while implementing it. The crew did work diligently and hard and everything SEEMED fine. (Other than severing my Cox cable line while they were digging the trench for the drainage pipe, but they did fix that.) But the minute there was a problem with the system itself - and after they were paid in full - everything changed. When I let them know the system wasn't draining properly I found them to be rather patronizing and their crew was disrespectful of my property when they came out to check on things - and it took some doing to get them here. When the system continued to be problematic, they made all kinds of excuses not to come out in a timely fashion and deal with the issue. Namely that water still builds up on the patio during a really heavy rain, and the pipe is holding up to an inch of water right where it meets the catch basin in the floor of the patio, even days after the last rain! It's a mosquito factory and a clear sign that the pipe isn't sloped steeply enough to fully drain the water. I've spoken to numerous people with subsurface drainage systems and a couple of other contractors and they all agree that the pipe shouldn't hold water like that if it was installed correctly. But the Moss people have tried to convince me that it's normal, and have blamed the problem on anything and everything but their own workmanship, or lack thereof. These guys are clearly co-authors of the Contractors Handbook of Bullsh**t Excuses. Also they charged me $85 for a catch basin cover that cost $40 at Home Depot. I don't mind paying a little mark-up on a product for the convenience of having it purchased and installed for me. But that's a pretty high mark-up for an item like that. And then they NEVER even delivered it!! When I asked them why they still hadn't brought it to me in SIX MONTHS they told me that it was on backorder, but when I checked with Home Depot I could have ordered it myself numerous times and gotten it within a few days. So since they refuse to make things right now I may have to pay another company to fix their mistakes and spend more money on the catch basin cover they overcharged me for and never delivered. Based on this experience and some of the other reviews I've read I would definitely NOT recommend Moss Landscaping for anything - but especially not for drainage systems. read more

An absolute pleasure dealing with them. I met with a few landscaping companies and Moss definitely blew the others away. They renovated my backyard and added a wooden fence and brick patio. I even decided to put in a brick fire pit. Now my back yard is perfect. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

Sal was very communicative throughout the whole process. He came to our house and assessed the yard drainage to be done. I quickly received a very competitive quote and the job was scheduled. The crew were very professional, respectful and efficient. Sal oversaw the job throughout the day and came back later to be sure we were happy. They did a fantastic job and we could not be happier. We had Moss Landscaping come out to replace our grass earlier this year. Now after 6 months, I have to replace the grass again. In discussions with several arborists that have come out to look at the grass, they were able to pull up pieces of dead sod with their bare hands. They all said that the grass wouldn't have survived anyway because there was no dirt mixed in with the sand. Had dirt been mixed in with sand and dirt placed on top, the grass would have survived even with all of the rain we have had this year. Now I have to replace it all once again. Over priced and the results are poor. Would not recommend at all!!! read more
