DO NOT BUY from Kings Garage. We purchased a Range Rover…read moresport in April 2024. Luckily we bought it through a finance company. To cut the long story short, the engine seized and the garage refused to accept responsibility. This was after a report was carried out by an independent agent that deemed the vehicle was not fit for purpose at the point of sale. Don't be taken in by the charm of the sales person. The fact that the company is an approved Range Rover dealer is also a concern. We have just had our case resolved (March 2025) with a positive outcome from the finance the company. Please learn from our experience and do not be fooled in to purchasing a vehicle from this company.

Kings Road Garage Ltd is a family run business that prides themselves on their 115 Auto Trader…read morereviews. Unfortunately my car shopping experience was to test these credentials to the limit. Believing that I'd found the Land Rover of my dreams the day finally came for handover. Sadly all the reviews, Auto Trader awards and testimonials I had read beforehand suddenly had a hollow ring, when on arriving home, my partner's face dropped, 'should the engine sound like that' was not the reaction I was hoping for! My elation soon turned to despair. I sent Kieran recordings on my iPhone and turned around and took the car straight back preying that I wouldn't need the AA breakdown cover which came as part of their dealer pack. I will never forget that day for all the wrong reasons. Bitterly disappointed, and with a heavy heart, I rejected the car the next day and asked for my money back. However, assured by Kieran's aftercare, and not wanting to start my search all over again, the car was eventually returned to me complete with an extension to the standard 6 months warranty. Peace of mind restored, I continued on my ownership journey with the car. Alas, this was to prove short-lived. The engine warning light came on a week or so later while driving the kids and the car had developed another serious fault, this time affecting the steering and braking systems. So on this occasion, I opted to take it into a local Land Rover Specialist instead and soon my car buying experience was to come crashing down around my ears again! The workshop quickly diagnosed a faulty ABS sensor, but to my shock had a very serious concern why the engine was making a rattly noise which increased on revs? They informed me that a diesel engined variant of this prestige brand should sound smooth, but they would be putting on my invoice, a written warning that mine was not! Reluctant to return the car again to Berkhamsted and it being uneconomical for Kieran to collect and return it, my request for a full refund was flatly denied. Kieran responded that because I had allowed them to repair the vehicle in the 30 day period under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I was basically not entitled to a refund, even though two serious faults with the diagnosis of a third, all within the initial 30 days? My claim is now on the courts doorstep, a sad outcome to what should have been on paper, a joyous and pleasurable car buying experience .
