My first stay in a Motel 6 in probably 20 years. The room was arranged and furnished in a minimalist European style with all of the normal requirements for a nights rest before a big day at the Big 12 Championship. The motel is positioned close to the freeway, but far enough away that you don't get a large amount of road noise. I will definitely stay here again in the future. read more

My kids asked if we could leave a half star review. This place was rough. When we walked in the door the smell was awful, like wet Doritos. The carpet was tore up where it met with the tile. It was obvious that the floor hadn't been vacuumed well. There was mold in the bathroom. The floors were sticky. When we opened the fridge we found a bag of watermelon. Really made us wonder what else hadn't been cleaned. We went to Dollar General and bought disinfectant wipes & Lysol to clean the room. Also the outer door, right down the hall from our room, did not lock from the outside even though the gal at the front desk told me it did. Should have known this place wasn't good by the lack of cars in the parking lot. TV didn't work, as well as the lamp between the beds. Only positive we could find was that the room was large. Just hoping to save someone else for paying too much for a dump of a motel. read more

Western Suites - A friend of mine has a business and landed a job over in Colorado City, so for the past several weekends we would drive up do the job and overnight in the Western Suites. I found the Western Suites to be a very comfortable place to stay and the beds are amazing to sleep in. Rooms are large; the staff was very helpful and responsive to any needs that we had. Western Suites was such a blessing to us. we had to make an emergency road trip after the unexpected death of a family member and had planned to stay in Odessa. we made our reservations at the Motel 6 in Odessa, but when we arrived at 4:00 am local time, we were told our room had been cancelled and resold. we then learned that due to an oil boom, every hotel/motel within a 30-40 mile radius was sold out. grieving a loss, tired from a long drive well into the early hours of the morning, irritated from our Motel 6 experience AND almost 5 months pregnant, we had little other option but to get back on the road and try and find a hotel that would let us rest. at that point, because most check-outs are at 11 am, it seemed like a silly waste but being on the road any longer was beginning to get dangerous. eventually, we located Western Suites. when we called and explained our plight, the woman at the front desk was so kind and helpful. she had a room available and she even booked it as if we'd had a (very) early check-in - technically, we could have had the room until 11 am the following day!! we checked in without any issue and slept in a nice, comfortable, clean and HUGE room until 4:00 pm. it was just what we needed. our heartfelt thanks to Western Suites for having wonderful staff and being such a blessing during our time of need. read more

Big time dump! I'm guessing some people who left good reviews were paid. The place was dirty, outdated, disgusting and felt unsafe. I put furniture in front of the door! Pay a little more and go to a better place. This one needs to be closed down. read more

I have never complained about a room in my life. I was driving for 17 hours and needed to stop and rest for the night and catch up on some work. When I approached the front door, I should have known it was gunna be bad. I got to my room, there was paper on the floor, it had not been vacuumed. I mosey on in to the bathroom to see if it's bad. First of all they had one bar of soap on the counter. Like I guess it was a 3 in 1 soap. there is stuff all over the counter and mirror where it wasn't wiped down, let alone cleaned. The toilet area reeked of urine and there was dried urine on the toilet. The bathtub drain had globs of mildest hair in it. This place was disgusting!!! read more

I read the previous reviews and I think some big changes have happened. First, the motel does not look on the outside like a Motel 6. I think this was previously another chain. The entire facility is being renovated. And it is BEAUTIFUL. The owner/manager greeted us warmly and got us registered quickly. She apologized profusely for the renovation work going on. The entry, breakfast room and hallways are beautiful - all marble tile and nice lighting. Our first floor room was HUGE, beautifully furnished and decorated. You can definitely see the woman's touch in all the coordinated fabrics. The bath was beautiful too. This new owner definitely deserves our business. read more

My wife and I had been traveling through Western Texas for 10+ hours and needed a room. I looked online and found hotels either 150-300 (thank you oil and wind workers) or roach motels based on ratings. This specific hotel was rated near a 4 so I reserved a room online. We got to the motel and a young guy attending (I should say unattending) the desk was in the lobby on a computer playing a video game. Strike 1. I approached the desk, at which time he turns and slowly approaches me. I stated that I reserved a room online, and he checks my reservation. He asked if I reserved a first floor room, at which time I said yes. He advised me that there are no ground level rooms, only second floor. I advised him that I reserved a ground level room with disability access because I am disabled. I asked him if they have an elevator, his response "Nope". Strike 2. I asked for a refund and ended up driving another 1.5 hours to a much nicer and albeit, expensive hotel. read more

The rooms are huge, kitchenette in the room, clean, friendly, and quiet. Far better than the usual chain hotels.
