Questionable cleanliness, and the worst night's sleep I've had in a very long time. I arrived around midnight after traveling from Minnesota, and the place seemed a good enough spot to sleep and shower, which was my ONLY expectation. Seriously, my standards when it comes to my road trip motels are LOW. What really got to me was all the freaking NOISE, which started around 4am. Not even two glasses of wine and a Xanax could drown it out. I was on the first floor, and every time someone above me would move the whole building made a huge cracking sound. I could hear every toilet flush, every thud and bang overhead, every person walking by, voices in the courtyard, I could even hear when someone would clear their throat. I turned the fan on to help drown out the noise but there is no way to make it run continually, which means I woke up every time it shut off. I even turned the tv on for a while so I wouldn't notice the outside noises as much, but it didn't help. When I got up in the morning, I was actually IMPRESSED at how clearly I could hear the guests' conversations in the room next to me (No Patricia, your husband doesn't want to stop for coffee, he already told you twice). Now I get to drive another 10 hours home on NO sleep. Next time I'll sleep in my car! read more

Fantastic family run place with some of the best customer service anywhere. With the reasonable price & clean room, if you're just passing through, save your $ & stay here. I believe some of the poor reviews from 1-2 yrs ago were before these new owners took over, so pay attention to the 2019 reviews. All the previous issues, especially with cleanliness, seem to have been fixed. Pros: * $68 inc tax for 1-nt. * Really pleasant staff, who go above & beyond for offering customer service. I didn't expect a phone call 15-min after checking in to ask if the room was okay, especially not from an M6. When I needed to stay over another night, Jennifer at the front desk just charged my card on file & sent me an immediate email receipt, so I didn't need to leave the room 'til morning to get my key re-programmed. One light bulb was burned out & I asked if I could get a replacement at the front desk... within 30-seconds maintenance showed up. They all also appear to enjoy their work... you don't get the feeling of anything extra being drudgery for them. They make for a very pleasant stay. * Room is the standard M6 style & super clean. Beds are comfy enough (soft but with support), pillows are cheaper, older & some flattened, but I had 3 for each bed, which made it better. * Mini fridge & m/w. * Plenty of strong lights, wall outlets & towels. * New shower stall with a nice, high shower head for those of us who are taller. * Strong, stable WiFi. * All the HBO channels. * Smaller bathroom vanity space, but there is a very long desk w/chair & underneath shelving & an area to hang clothing with 8 hangers. Good to know: * WalMart & Albertson's are 1/2-mi away as are a few sit down restaurants (the impressive looking Black Iron Grill, which appears to be brand new, is across the street), a few fast food places (McD's, Wendy's & Dairy Queen are 3-4 mi away) & there are 4 gas stations just within 1-mi. * There's a grassy courtyard in the middle of the property, so everyone's door opens into it. It does draw mosquitoes, flies & other flying critters, especially the day they cut the grass, so when leaving the room, close the door quickly... if you leave the door ajar, be prepared to be chewed to pieces at night due to the plethora of vampire bugs floating about. I had at least a dozen bites 'til I leapt around the room like a ninja with a flicking hand towel one night to eradicate them all. * It's a motel & like all M6's, offers no toiletry samples. So don't complain... those are offered at pricier hotels. * Lobby coffee from 5-10am. * Guest coin laundry. Cons: * Some repairs are needed... an outlet was completely out of the wall & out of code, but the TV was plugged into it & I just didn't go near it. It could be potentially dangerous & really should be fixed. As a quick fix, they could at least use duct tape to hold it onto the wall. * Wall a/c unit works great, but it is one of those annoying ones that turns off & on all night long, which wakes me continually. I just hate those & when traveling, by day 3, I've got to bump up in *** to stay at a better hotel for a more plush bed & quiet a/c so I can catch up on sleep. It's still great for overnight to a couple of days. * Lots of giant RVs & trucks around, so you do hear traffic going by all day/night. I'm a city girl, so I can tune it out... I just notice it when the bloody a/c shuts off. Solid 4.5* out of 5. Very nice stay. It was so restful, I stayed 3 nights. I'd definitely stay again, if ever passing through. read more

Stayed here unexpectedly on our way home from Billings so I wasn't expecting anything great since it was cheap. Stayed in a wheel chair accessible room which was fine. Room was spacious enough but the bathroom was disgusting! It looked like the floor that went into the shower had not been cleaned in months! You could see the film on the shower floor and no film where people stood to shower! Wishing I had brought some shoes to wear while showering! read more

Look, I was not expecting the Taj Mahal considering this is one of the cheapest places in Miles City but honestly, what a dump. Let's begin with the dog crap. They allow pets and while wheeling my suitcase to my room, I had to dodge dog poop smears on the sidewalk. Then when I got into my room, the floor was so filthy my shoes were practically sticking to the floor. Fast forward to the next morning. I started up the shower, got undressed, brushed my teeth and when I stepped into the shower, you guessed it, ice cold water. They told me when I checked in that the other side of the building had no guests due to no hot water. It's clear the other side that I was on has the same issue. I marched to the office and asked for a different room. It's across the grassy area and besides being as dumpy as the other room, at least there is hot water! This is the second time I have stayed here but I will definitely not be back and I would not recommend it. Clearly the owner, who does not live in town, does not put one penny back into this place. read more

I checked in here for three nights, I wasn't happy to be here to begin with. It's motel 6, and it smelled as such. The place is dirty and smelly, inside and out. After my first night, I went out to work a long day, I came back and saw that nobody had attended to my room, but I saw some workers standing near their carts ( around 8 pm ). I know it's late, but thought "hey maybe they are running late." I left to go have dinner at the BlackIron Grill across the street. After a tasty dinner, I came back, and saw the male worker alone slouched over in the parking area with his uniform, the ladies were gone, and my room was still dirty. I was a little ticked off about it, but just went to sleep and let it go. The next morning, I left for a long day at work, and came back to a smelly dirty room. It again had not been serviced, however the a/c had been turned off. I went to the front desk, asked for towels, and let the clerk know that two days had passed, he didn't seem to care. No apology, just gave me towels. I asked if they still clean rooms daily, and he just said "I'll let housekeeping know," and went back to his cell phone. @&$! You Motel 6. The beds were hard and rough to match the Montana landscape. My back hurt each morning, and I had trouble sleeping in the horrid beds. My rating is based on the low expeditions of a motel 6, if it were anywhere else a 1 star would be overly generous. They have nice pretty flowers all over, I guess that is the only think nice about this place. read more

Miles City - if you're at the end of your day or have a broke car! Very basic motel. Super simple, not deep cleaned, dirty surroundings. But if you gotta stop (and you do if you travel Montana), it's got a bed and shower. And somedays thats just good enough. Btw, manager is a bit overbearing. Creepy place, even by motel 6 standards... The beds were comfortable and the room reasonably clean. The motel was undergoing remodeling while we were there and I think we got one of the newly redone rooms. Even still, neither my wife nor I felt quite comfortable or at ease while we stopped off here. We really felt like we'd stumbled across an extended stay motel -- some rooms and residents looked like they'd been there for a while and treated the place like home. read more

Pulled off the road at 7:30pm on a Saturday night Easter Weekend (2015) with no reservation. Having stayed at many Motel 6, I knew this is by far nothing but a limited amenity establishment. The young lady at the front desk was busy helping another customer but still acknowledged my presence and said she will be right with me. I stated I need a room for 2 adults, 2 beds, and that we have a very well behaved dog traveling with us, but she is old and we would like a room on the 1st floor. She was very pleasant and helpful and put us in the courtyard area where pets are welcome to do there business. It is nice we don't have to walk her across the trucker parking where dodging all the trash and trucker bombs is always such a joy. As stated earlier, we have stayed at many a Motel 6, and this one was well ahead of the pack in cleanliness and friendliness. If I end up coming through this area again, it will definitely be my choice for a repeat visit. Checking the prices at the other local Hotel/Motels, this one is $20 to $50 less expensive. And when all you need is a bed and a shower in the morning, this is it. Free no log in WIFI. Microwave in the room. Refrigerator (mini) in the room. Right off the Interstate. Lots of food choices a stones throw away. I am giving it 5 stars as a Motel 6. read more

Stayed here over Christmas and it was the worst night sleep I have ever had in a motel... To start it off it was freezing cold when we walked in. It was about as cold as outside was and it was negative numbers. Turned the heat on and it quickly got warm which was good. Then we pulled back the sheets and there were crumbs in our bed... the floors were gross... thankfully they were wood floors but not clean at all. Then we slept in our bed and it felt like there were bug crawling all over my skin. Now 2 months later we are dealing with bugs in our own bed that I'm pretty sure we picked up from motel 6.... never again will I sleep in this hotel. I didn't even shower because the hotel just felt so dirty taking a shower would of been pointless... it was also so noisy. Every time someone would close a door or sneeze we could hear them. Even over the heater. Overall, never would recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Seems a bit sketchy upon arrival and the stink of gasoline in the office is a tad off-putting. But it was cheap and we'd been sleeping in our UHaul for two nights, and my pregnant body needed a bed and a hot shower, so in we went. My mother in law (from MA) had offered to gift us a motel room but Motel 6 said they would have to fax a third party authorization form back and forth to do that; they would not allow her to call in and book the room for us. Not many people I know have easy access to fax machines, especially in the evenings. What a pain. So we just used our credit card. Our room was non smoking but every room we walked past had cigarette butts and disposals outside (ironic sticker on the office door also says "welcome to smoke free Montana"). The window was wide open so it was absolutely freezing in our room. The heat smelled like something burning but eventually that went away. The shower is awful; unless you're 6'6" you're just standing there getting rained on with nowhere to move as the shower head is back against the shower curtain. Bathroom floor is like walking on ice. TV was all fuzzy lines and loud static. Bed was okay, not great, but much better than our truck. Staff was nice enough and we had a quiet few hours' sleep after uncomfortable but hot showers. They also allow pets which was huge for us as we are driving across the country with our cat. Wifi was decent. Cheap spot to crash. Overall not the worst experience I've ever had, but they could easily improve their establishment with a little extra TLC and attention to detail. read more

Not a horrible motel, but what do you expect for a motel 6, our room was clean, bed were comfortable and sheets were clean. Showers have good pressure and are good for the hot water, if you like them that way, refrigerator and micro wave worked and were clean, tv was fairly new. Now the only down side to our room was that we were on the side with the truck stop so you can here the big trucks pulling in and out of there lot. Staff was friendly and very helpful. read more

It served its purpose, two beds, a place to shower and rest. We'd driven almost 300 miles and couldn't go any farther. The rooms seemed newer and clean. They amenities, were limited, no wi-fi, no continental breakfast. But again, we just needed a place to sleep. I was a little skeptical about feeling safe, leaving my car there, but almost everyone staying there was renting by the week and working all day. By the time we got up to go, everyone was nearly gone. If you need a place and are traveling through, I'd feel all right recommending it. read more

For the price, this place is great! One of the more comfortable beds I've slept on at a motel! Small rooms, no bathtub & the laminate floor was curiously sticky but the room felt safe and the heat worked great! Front desk guy was kind, available & easygoing. Laundry was necessary on my trip... facilities were aged (soap dispenser broken but front desk remedied the issue). Easy in & out! Do stop here! read more

We stopped in Miles City with car problems and dropped by the Motel 6 to see if lodging was available. The owner met us at the front desk got us a room but then hearing of our car problem recommended a friend at a local auto parts store and also offered us the use of his personal tools if needed. Our room was clean, fresh and quiet, and the next morning his auto parts friend came through for us, helping track down parts and getting us on our way. By far the worst Motel 6 I've ever stayed at. The fan didn't work so it being summer my room was a sauna all night. After a few hours noticed the bottom of my socks were slowly turning black from the grime on the floor. It's next door to a noisy truck stop so if not for earbuds and white noise on my phone would not have gotten any sleep. Avoid this dump like the plague. read more

Omg, I stayed in 6/25/14 over night & it was so gross I pulled in as I was only wanting to drive 5 hrs a day from Wa. State to Chicago as I have a 4yr old & 6 month old. When I got to town after being on the road over 7 hrs because I hit Spokane traffic, so it took me 1.5 hrs to just get through Spokane, yes, I know, HOW??!! So we are driving to our destination and I should of know as t his was the ONLY Hotel with vacancy & the Motel 8 which was just as gross. So I pull in & there is some chick on the computer in the front area ( I guess free internet if you don;t hv a computer?) Then there is a guy in front of me checking in & you can tell he worked ALL DAY, I come in & walk right back out & search the area for an other place to stay, even tried a bed & breakfast as it was a Tuesday & thought NO WAY can everything be booked on a Tuesday??!! It was completely booked & the guys working there told me it was from all of them being out of town & them doing so much work there & it actually less busy on the weekends, now who would of thunk that? , so o.k. great but back to the front desk guy, he was booking in a guy & the phone rang, did he put the person on hold & tell him he had 2 ppl checking in & it might be 5 minutes if they would like to call back or if he could get there # & call back?? Nope, he started booking a reservation right then, now this is the 2nd time I am in the office as I left the 1st time as I thought I can not let my babies stay here!! So anywhoo, as we are listening to this guy make a reservation & now we have about 4 ppl behind me & the person he is booking in & I say, "hey dude, I have a 6 month old & 4yr old in the car, single mother, & need to get some sleep to get out of here as early as 6am (note: it was 9:45pm when I was booking in) I told him he should put the person on hold and get us our rooms that already have reservations, as I was not someone making a new reservation for a night but pre bought my room!! I know, what was I thinking!! So he kindly puts the person on hold & tells them it may be a minute as I told him if the caller had called b4 us coming in then do it but the caller called after we where in the office to to get off the damn phone!!! I get my room & my 4 yr old has to pee so we go to the bathroom & when I flush the toilet, water starts gushing out of the bottom of the toilet?? I try to call the office to get the code for internet & I have no working phone for even a wake up call?? Then I think o.k. Sabrina calm down, lets get some ice & just have a drink & calm down, NOPE, there were NO bags in the ice container & they had none in the front??? Are you kidding me???!!!! So I am getting my son's ready for bed, I was told on the phone with my reservation they had a crib, well the did not have a crib & not from being full but THEY DON'T HV A CRIB PERIOD!! Why could they just not tell me this when I asked? I go to get my son's ready for bed & there is some type of substance on my blankets?? I had to pull out our own blankets, pillows, towels, cleaning supplies as NOTHING THERE was clean. At about 3am I was pissed as I could not sleep & went to the front desk to talk to her about reaching the owner. She was the nicest lady EVER!!! Made the stay as she was just so nice but as she called the owner he had her go into my room as if he did not believe everything I said was wrong! Needless to say that everything I have mentioned was bad & she told the owner everything including my kids not in there blankets, my baby sleeping on the floor because I was not going to have him on the wall side with all the NASTY everywhere!!! She told the "OWNER that I was not lying and that water was shooting from the bottom of my toilet, which is SOOO GROSS, the phone did not work, ohh yeah the lights in my room did not work except the one in the bathroom, I had no liner for my ice container, & the BLANKETS were so gross that I am sure they had not been washed in 2 yrs when I know there has to be some policy to at least wash blankets every month but not only the top blanket as I NEVER use the top blanket anyway because I did work in a Hotel & know how it works but to have dirty sheets, & to hv someone tell me they would have a crib but to find out they don't even own a crib............ never ever ever ever ever ever!!!! I would of rather slept at the rest stop in my own car but I did love the late night lady & Wal-Mart in this city as I went late b4 we went to bed like 10:30p were the nicest ppl I think I have ever met. The guy that was working needs to have some training on how to work the front desk, the lady that works midnights is someone you need working during the day with your customers, she was amazing & did do a walk through (peer the owner) like I am a liar?? She noted that everything I said was true, including having very gross sheets! I was going to drive an extra 200 miles as that is where there nearest Fairfield, Holiday Inn, or Best Western. :( read more

Even when this was the only hotel with a room in all of ugly Miles City, and after driving all day from Minnesota, we chose to drive another 150 miles or sleep in the car rather than stay here. The dirty, fly ridden lobby and the creepy bunch checking in ahead of us made us leave and drive on to Billings. If you want to find a place to stay in this part of the world in the summer, best to have reservations. The Holiday Inn Express,The Guest house, and The War Bonnet seemed safe. The whole town seems a bit unsettling, we should have stopped in Glendive, but even then, there would have been no rooms. This was at about 6pm on a Tuesday in August. There were no rooms anywhere, even in Billings. We ended up at the Crowne Royal in Billings at about 11pm. Lots more money, but a lovely, clean, executive room which was upgraded for free and breakfast with a great view. Very nice hotel staff, and the beds were like clouds...so nice! read more

My expectations - which were rock bottom - were barely met. This is a run down motel. The AC was noisy. The bedding looked like it came from Goodwill. But to top it off, there were flies in the room. It took me an hour to kill them all with the snap of a towel. To be fair, it was CHEAP and all I wanted to do was sleep and shower while driving from MN to Seattle. read more

This motel taught me a good lesson, ALWAYS check Yelp first. We got to the hotel about 8pm on 3/1/13, and the night attendant was extremely unpleasant, and had a friend in the office with her who kept trying to talk to me, even though I made it quite clear that it was late and I was tired. After getting checked in, we went to grab our bags, and upon opening the room door, we find out the room is already occupied! Had to go back to the office and deal with the two ladies there again, and I didn't even get an "I'm sorry". All she said was "hmm, I wonder who's in there". We got a new room (empty this time) and got everything settled before deciding to check if there was anything on yelp. And then I find the BEST (sarcastic) news of the night, just 8 months prior there was a possible murder there that they didn't even finish cleaning off police tape before renting the room out again. Just overall unpleasant feeling from this motel that just worsened once I checked the reviews. Also, they claim to have free WiFi, but we were not able to connect through any of our devices. By that time, it was 11 pm and I really did not want to deal with the clerk again. All I can say is, never again! Though, if you do end up there, the cafe next door made a fantastic steak and oyster stew. read more
