Both she and I went in in person to discuss this with the front desk. Yet, the night before the wedding, there were a group of our groomsmen left to try to negotiate with the front desk. The front desk insisted they could not put it on a card with someone's else's name, though this had been pre-arranged and the HI manager/staff never once mentioned that before. They insisted on getting credit cards from different people for each room. The next day, my mother in law had to go in to confirm once again that she wanted the rooms on her card (and give them a piece of her mind). We all agreed this must have been the most business ever done by this Holiday Inn and, unless they improve their management, I don't see them contiuing to get much more. (And, for the record, the guests who did get rooms and manage to stay without getting hassled, said the rooms were quite nice for the price.)

Breakfast was great - cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, muffins, cereal, juice, good coffee, sausage, ham, and hard boiled eggs. All free. Only complaint was the shower head. Lots of hot water but it was an adjustable head with 3 flow patterns, too hard, too soft, and WAY too soft. Small complaint though.

The rooms are nice and clean, and they have a large television, a microwave, a mini fridge, an iron, blow dryer, etc.. every morning there's a wonderful breakfast buffet, complete with eggs, biscuits, country gravy, assorted breakfast meats, cereals, yogurts, bagels, muffins, bread to toast, lots of coffee, real cream, as well as flavored non dairy creamers, juices, plenty of toppings for the waffles, peanut butter, jellies, etc.. you will NOT go hungry! In the evening, they have freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The staff is friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite features was that the shower had a handheld shower head, which is rare, and great water pressure, especially considering all of the other guests using the water for showering, etc.. All in all, the next time we return to Belen, we are DEFINITELY staying here again! We loved our time here!

I understand it is a little older hotel, but the door doesn't hang properly, the window doesn't lock, the attendant has odd hours and they never return your calls, there is after hours phone... which when you call transfers you to the phone behind the desk you can physically see ringing... but when they leave at 6pm and your breaker pops at 6:07pm because the microwave was too much you get to sit in the dark until the next day but now the mini-fridge has leaked all over the floor because the power was out... basically think of a Motel 6 before they remodeled. I know they say that someone actually lives on site, and that is great, but where do they live on site so that when something like this happens it can get fixed? The first time a complaint was called in (the tissues had not been refilled for 2 weeks, nor had the sheets been changed) and they were at the desk things were taken care of the next day... but having 90% of your room have no power is not acceptable. Just glad there were no left overs in the mini-fridge that got to go bad too. I do think using patio furniture as actual furniture is kinda funny though.
