Wonderful little gem stashed away in the back of Garden Gate spa. Nice and quiet for a meeting and a beer. Serve was bubbly and attentive.

Food was not good. Do not waste your money. Soup is cold and the worst and the sandwich was poor quality.

I always love to try new local spots so I decided to give them a go. When I walked in I was the only customer in there. The wait staff acted as though they had no idea how to handle a customer. It was a very odd experience. At one point the cook came out and asked if I knew what I wanted so that he could start cooking it up before the server came by to help out (as the actual server was M.I.A for some reason). I ordered the sugar and salt cured salmon with oranges. The salmon was way too salty to even enjoy. I ended up eating less than half of it. Maybe their other dishes are better, but not sure that I'm willing to try again after that disappointing visit. read more

The place is a little hard to find, it's tucked in behind the senior center, but it's worth the search if you've never been here before. Inside is very nice and airy, and across the parking lot is a quiet little garden space with a pond. Sliding glass doors make up the outward-facing wall, but it's not too bright (even for me, and I'm photosensitive/photophobic due to migraines). I didn't even have to wear my sunglasses in there. Found this little place, quite by accident. Stopped in at the day spa and going back to my car recognized it was open. It's actually the food service for the accompanying retirement/asst'd living in front w/3 double tables/3 - tables for 4. Ordered the chicken rice soup. It took much longer than expected. Fantastic, every bite made me know I made a great choice with soup and location and time. The staff were actually at the next table discussing new menu items. They even included me, did not want to distract, but fun chatting with.. You can order ahead, weekly menus, online you can QR (?) code your order... Oh, chicken pot pies are back, fresh 2 bake, hot/ready, and whole meals ; rotisserie chicken and sides I just remembered why moved to Los Lunas. Oh, my 2nd visit, I met the head chef, it was a few days b4 Valentine's Day and they were trying place settings. So I was between appointments in Los Lunas and I was actually looking for a place to grab a coffee but we were in an area where there wasn't much. I kept looking for a convenience store or gas station, but I saw nothing but houses. Then we saw the sign for Green House Bistro & Bakery and decided to give it a try. What a great find! The menu has some great stuff on it. My wife and I split the roasted root salad and the vegetarian panini. The roasted root had fantastic greens that were fresh and it had some good beets, roasted garlic and lots of tasty other root veggies. The panini was on fresh focaccia with grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella and a bunch of other seasonal veggies. We didn't have to rush off, so we also had warm orange creme scones and coffee which were the perfect way to end the meal. I have said before that I am not a vegetarian, but sometimes if the vegetarian stuff on the menu sounds really good, you just go with it. Their free range rotisserie chicken sounded like it would be a good thing to get to go. I did also like that they had a zoodle dish which I might try next time. They also had some new mexico inspired s'mores that came with biscochito graham crackers, red chile marshmallows, green chile marshmallows and dark chocolate pine nut brittle. It is a good place to relax and have a quality meal if you are not in a hurry. There was a guy setting up to play guitar for the Friday evening meal, but we had to finish our work and couldn't stay to hear him play. Some people have mentioned the service was slow, but I thought it was good. The food took some time, but I expect that when food is actually made to order. The waitress checked on us several times and chatted a bit. It was a hot day and my ice water was never empty. When I asked her what was good on the menu, it seemed that she genuinely liked the food herself and was proud to be serving it. read more

Man, this was a debate on going to eat here. We were on an outreach trip nearby and were deciding between what was just voted the Best Mexican in Belen versus this place. My boss and I are meat eaters and the other two people in the group are vegetarians, which always makes our decisions a little more difficult. We had started to drive to the Mexican place, but then a complaint was made for that choice, so we begrudgingly came here. I wasn't very excited to be here in the first place, so I didn't have high hopes. It is in an odd place and when we arrive there were two other tables (a total of 3 people). It took a bit for us to get drinks, but the menu looked like a standard coffee shopish place with a few fancy items. Some of the descriptions were quite vague, like the vegan pasta which ended up just being spaghetti squash with some olive oil. I got a hamburger and it was WAY overcooked, completely charred and dry. They combine mustard and mayo here, so I ended up with mayo on it too. My boss got the chicken burger and also noted it was very dry and plain. The fries were soggy and cold making them not as good as we hoped. I ran out of water almost immediately and never got a refill. The table that left never got cleared in our hour and a half ordeal here. It took a very LONG time to get lunch here. Not a quick stop, but expect quite a leisurely afternoon. We got our checks one by one and each card was taken back, ran, and then brought out, this took alone almost 20 minutes. They also couldn't honor their Yelp Check-in for produce, but offered creme brulee instead, a good offer, but I wasn't about to wait longer for it. I would not vote for coming to this place again, especially with the length of time and disappointment in the food. read more

I had high hopes in checking this place out, as there are not too many options close by. I made the mistake of reviewing their website before placing my phone order. The girl who answered the phone seemed incredibly confused, which confused me. I ordered two meals. My husband ordered the red chile pesto pasta that comes with chicken. I ordered the vegan pesto pasta. The girl on the phone didn't engage in the typical conversation you would except when placing a phone order. She didn't respond at all. For a minute I though perhaps we had been disconnected. I reviewed my order a few times to ensure she was on the same page. She still seemed confused, but said she had both orders. As predicted, when I arrived the girl asked for my card and only had one meal. I tried explaining that I ordered two meals. She didn't seem to have a solution. I love there chicken (lemon or herb of de Valencia) if you are looking for a better meal even on a small budget this is the healthiest pick up and go by far. The pies they sale at the vegetable stand that the bistro makes, the best way i can explain it, "Heaven on Earth". At first when the very nice person waiting on me told me the price $27.00, I flenched, thats a bit pricy for a pie. I asked him why so much. It's all organic and organic ingredients are not inexpensive. I understood that. The pies are large and very heavy and just filled full, worth every penny. The bistro had baked so many delicious items it was hard to chose. Everything was just beautiful and nicely packaged. I will say, for being an outside bakery, and ready to pick up and go, the stand was incredibly clean. The man used plastic gloves and tongs to pick everything I ordered. You don't even see that in normal bakeries. I went when mask enforcement was in place, and a few customers were unbelievably rude to the gentleman who was at the table when he politely asked them to put masks on. Some people!! I bought the cherry pie and few other things. Let me tell you, the pie was unbelievably incredible. I never tasted anything like it. The other baked goods were just as incredible. There is nothing like this in Los Lunas, and I dare to say New Mexico. All of it was fresh and just amazingly delicious. My husband and I now are regular patrons, and the new things they keep creating are incredible. I am never disappointed and will continue to visit this little secret in Los Lunas. It is hard to please my friends (and I) when it comes to eating...they all want to eat at my place! I took them and my husband to the Green House Bistro and Bakery (GHB&B) and... the meat lovers as well as the vegetarians were all happy with the fresh and hot meals, presentation, flavors, service, fresh bread and dessert...Oh Boy! This is my second time and GHB&B is definitively in our favorite place to eat. A little noisy, I will say, but not annoying. Thanks GHB&B chef... Just to put it simply, this place is nothing short of...awesome!!! The fresh daily menu is filled w/veggies taken from their local garden. The grain-fed local beef was succulent, the sliced turkey sandwich made on a home-made freshly baked bun, was something that you won't find anywhere else here in Los Lunas! It was real turkey, slices thin - not processed meat. The chef is new there and he is really coming with some creative ideas. He came our and personally met us. We made a decision and ordered and the food was gross. My food was over salted to the point of being inedible. We picked up a Chicken Pot Pie to bake at home. We called it in and it was put together with a cute dough rose. Baked it at the recommended setting and it was absolutely delicious! I was very happy to read that a food blogger had a good experience at this little bistro. I so wanted that to be the case for my friend and me when we went for lunch this past week but it was not to be. The service was downright atrocious - slow to the point of being almost non-existent. We sat with our menus, waiting to order, while others came in after us and had their orders taken. After we finally ordered, someone killed flies that were sitting on vacant table tops using a fly swatter while we waited for our food to arrive. Another person set the wine glasses on their drinking rims on the adjacent chairs while clearing the table tops - would we really want to drink out of a glass that had been set upside down on it's rim where someone had previously been sitting? I think not! I was willing to cut them some slack if they were a new restaurant and didn't know any better but after hearing that they had been open for 1-1/2 years and that the owner had many more years experience with food service, I couldn't cut them even a speck of slack. The food was only passable. I ordered the roasted root vegetable salad - the carrots were underdone to the point of being almost raw; some of the potatoes were overdone and mushy, others were underdone and crunchy; the onions were so overcooked, they were barely there at all. The buttered bread that was included was dry and crumbly, without much flavor. My friend said her Rueben sandwich was tasty; however, the bread was so dry and crumbly that she had to eat it with a knife and fork. Her sweet potato fries were limp and mushy, not at all what one would expect from something called "fries." Our water glasses were never refilled, nor was there ever a server around to ask to have them refilled. We waited 10 minutes to have our check brought to us after we finished eating and then we waited again for someone to come to the cash register so we could pay it! Overall, it was not the pleasant experience we had anticipated and we felt it was not money well-spent for the less-than-acceptable meal. It is certainly a dining experience we will never repeat and we will not be recommending that our friends and family go there. It was a huge disappointment. read more
