Such a lovely staff. The room was very clean, air conditioning was a life saver in this 40°c (108°F about) heat! Beds were comfortable and owners super understanding and kind. read more

Two lovely rescue dogs who love nothing as much as to say hello and receive pats and rubs. Breakfasts are very good (I recommend the Eggs Benedict. Mal had the Big Breakfast, and it is huge!) Lots of bird life around. Lovely, lovely place to stay. Close to pretty much all of the attractions. I should mention too, that your hosts go over and above to assist. I had mentioned I needed to go and buy a wrap, as I thought I might be cold at the wedding we were attending. Alyce loaned me one, and upon leaving, we were presented with some tomato seedlings that they had extra of. That's rare.

Thankfully we found this place. The owners were nice and we had a few minutes of small talk before they left us to do our thing. The wife is an artist and the husband is into permaculture. So the place has a nice bed with heating pads (nice in autumn and winter in the Southern Highlands). There is an oil heater as well which will make the room nice and toasty if you want it that way. The shower and bathroom is pretty standard, but nice and clean. There is also a kitchen that they stock with food and tools to do your own breakfast. There were some fresh chook eggs as well as duck eggs. It is quiet, clean, and comfy. Great jumping off point for the Southern Highlands and best of all it is fairly priced.

The plans for the wedding were well organised, the reception room was beautifully laid out, but there was absolutely no excuse for the murderous over cooking of both the pork and the beef, not when there are sous vides if you can't handle the cooking of a couple of hundred pieces of meat. At $150.00 a head, I hope my Brother asks for compensation. Dry, over cooked, inedible. I have stayed here twice, once in the hotel and most recently in one of the private villas (privately owned but part of the Milton Park Country House grounds). Its a short and beautiful 5min drive out from the town of Bowral (opposite the Bong Bong racecourse). The road from the grand entrance at the base of the grounds is a beauty ... windy dirt road through dense bush - enough to make a wannabe rally driver salivate at the mouth. When you get to the fork in the road, the left will take you to the private villas and the right will lead you to the hotel, spa, conference/functions room/tennis courts. The road down to the private villas felt like we fell through the rabbit hole to wonderland - the road narrowed to barely the width of the car as we drove through what appeared to be a fictional village - was ohhhh soooo pretty. The villa was mammoth in size (3bds, 3bths, a beautiful patio overlooking fields and mountains ohhh and given this is Bowral, a huge fireplace to work on our s'mores skills. The hotel itself is charming and old school and I was told the spa is really lovely - a couple of friends got themselves an hr massage each and they came back to the villas in such a relaxed state ... totally had massage envy !! The only negative I could come up with is at night, this place has zero lighting so can be quite an interesting drive back.
