We were amazed at the cleanliness and neatness of everything. They explained the pool and spa was on a timer and opened at 3pm but if we wanted to use it sooner to let them know and they would turn on the heater for the day. "Wow, hope nice of them!" So we booked the place at one of the best prices on the area. I was amazed for everything we got. The room was huge. When you walk in the room the first thing you notice is the beautiful steel grey carpet. It s newly installed and just makes the room pop. In the entry was a closet with iron board n iron. Your sink with large mirror with good lighting, a large sill that had a coffee pot on it which brews up to a 6 cups of coffee was next. Coffee and sugar and creamer along with 2 cups is provide by the hotel. Across from the sink is your shower/tub combo and toilet room. This is the only room that had tile on the floor. The shower had nice hot water and the tub was a larger then normal so would have been a good for a nice bath. (One of the most spotless bathrooms I've seen in any hotel). We had a sitting area with a sofa bed and chair with a sofa table. You could see the 50' TV from the sitting area or bed. It sat on cabinet which included a microwave, a mini fridge, and some drawers. Across from the TV was the giant King size bed. One of the most comfortable needs we have ever slept on. (Both of us have major back issues, and still slept like babies). On either side of the bed were night stands with a light and plugs for your phones,or tablets, etc. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE ROOM! IT WAS PERFECT! We did get an opportunity to use the spa and pool. The pool was a little too cool for us to go into. It was regulated by air temperatures which were a little cooler than we like. The spa was perfect! Perfect temperature, the jets worked perfect, very relaxing. The staff were very friendly always smiling and asking if everything is ok We did not get a chance to make, although it looked like they were set up for an extended continental breakfast with some hot foods. However, my reservation was made 3.5 months earlier, and had been confirmed 1 week earlier! We were told we could stay at a higher rate, but the amenities were not available. In particular, security and breakfast were not available. At this point in time, the property looks downright creepy. Windows and Windows blinds are broken. The Hampton sign is in the dumpster and no cars are in the lot. I did call a front desk #, and have no idea who answered because no one is available at this Hillsboro Inn property.

It was late, and I was only there for one night, so I didn't bother to complain. I also found a large bug on the floor, something I was very worried about (insects), the noise outside (which doesn't bother me), and the television was either malfunctioning or just old. As evidenced by the price of the hotel, I am not very particular. However, when half the white towels are dingy grey, it's just wrong. The bed is softer than soft, while the area around the hotel is a little less safe than I feel comfortable with. All in all not a great experience here.
