On an obviously very busy Friday afternoon. I was informed that it may take until the next Wednesday before the car could be assessed. By the next Wednesday, the car had been assessed (I suspect an engineer stayed late for this), the sizable part had been ordered, received and fitted. Communication was excellent,staring on Monday morning.I collected the car that afternoon, it had been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. I'd been using the car as a mobile skip as attics, sheds and gardens needed to be cleared out prior to moving house, so the vehicle was in bit of a state. Some moss was growing in places. I highly recommend Central Garages, the staff went above and beyond assessing and completing an unexpected job added to a full schedule. Many thank to Central Garages, Lichfield. One car eventually died, but the other one is still going strong. I also take my car here to be serviced and for the MOT. When work has had to be done on the car it is always done to a good standard and the prices are always agreed in advance, so there are no surprises when the bills comes! This place is busy, so it's not always possible to drop by and get the work done there and then - even if it's a minor job. Having said that, if you pop in or call you can normally arrange a time for either later that day, or at worst for later that week. I recommend this place if you need an old car looked after.

You won't find anything better or more authentic than these. To me, the garage owner is like a guardian angel. They are really honest and very competent; if they wish, they could be charging me thousands since I've already told them everything--where I took my car, troubles, etc.--but since they are very genuine, they only charged me a few hundred, which included fitting a new battery and fixing my car. The price of the rescue was also a surprise to me, at a small £30, my friends had told me they were expecting prices of £150+. Once th car was at the garage Steve, I presume the owner, was vey helpful and told me he'd give me a call an wouldn't do the anything without my say so, he then kindly gave me a lift to the train station ad I had to get to Portsmouth still. The work was all done within a day, but I couldn't get back to Coventry for another 4 days and they had no problems with keeping it there or me. I decided that as it was in the garage anyway I might as well get the AC re-gassed as they did I for £40 which I understand to be cheap. Overall the work done on the car seemed a good price, I didn't once feel I was getting ripped off, and the staff were friendly and helpful. So I'd be more than willing to recommend them!

A friend recommended them to me as she had a problem with her exhaust. One garage came back to her with a quote of £800 - these guys told her they could sort it out for £80! Which they did, and there's been no problems since. I contacted them as I had a flat tyre. They came and sorted it out within 45 mins, didn't charge me for the time and were polite and professional. It was all a pretty good experience, rather than the usual nightmare of trying to avoid getting ripped off whilst entrusting your motor to people you've never met in your life. Anyway, I was impressed with their service and how reasonable their costs were.
