Waste of time! A recruiter calls me saying they found my resume online, I go to their Portland office and they seem really excited to help me find a job. They even mention a client within the private sector that I would be perfect for. During this time, they didn't make me fill out paperwork, which was odd. And given the fact that they had a one day temp position that week, but told me I could go to their Tigard office to fill things out. I declined that offer, but kept in contact. My first contact left so I was placed with another. This is after sending them emails and getting no reply, mind you. I'm desperate to start working and they tell me of two positions starting on a Monday. It's Friday morning and she promises to get back to me at the end of the day. I didn't hear from her, even though I called and left her messages. The final straw came this week when I asked for a follow up on another job. She had reached out to me and sent me the test writing skill, which I compleated and sent back immediately. I then find out from her that the company passed on me, she knew since last Thursday, so if I hadn't reached out, I never would've known. I'm done with Motus and their dismal lack of communication and all the time I wasted with them. Stay far far away! read more

First off, Adrienne was one of their most delightful and easy to work work recruiters. After she was let go or quit, trying to get placed for a job is equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack. Karriann Gillis is the absolute worst! I call in and email frequently to see if they have jobs available, only to have their administrative assistant, Megan, email me, not the recruiter I'm assigned to, to scold me for doing so. How unprofessional is that!!?? Instead of returning my calls, reaching out to me for possible assignments or following up with me, I have gotten directly ignored by the staff there. They instead say, go look for jobs elsewhere or give the recruiters time to reach back out to you. I waited almost 90 days for Kariann to reach out to me. The worst thing is, as a job seeker with a wide range of skills, it is bothersome that you are subject to being scolded or blackballed just because of your persistence in looking for work. The turn-around of their recruiters was done in such an unprofessional manner that once Adrienne left, I didn't even get a heads up I had a new recruiter! The recruiter I was assigned to has yet to even consider me for any positions. I don't know if that's how they treat "ALL PEOPLE" but that has been my experience and it is a shit show to get them to work for you on your behalf. Find a more competent recruiter if you work for this company. read more

In 15 years of providing contract work, Motus is easily the worst recruiter I've been affiliated with. - made multiple payroll errors, some of which took over a week to resolve. - I never met a Motus employee, even though their offices were within 10 miles of my contract placement. -Beware: unlike most recruiting agencies, Motus provides no benefits or perks of any kind. Given how hungry recruiters are for business in this economy, I'd advise any employer or contractor to look for an agency who is more focused on providing a better relationship. read more

Working with Monica Palmer at Motus has been terrific. She took a lot of time to get to know me, understand my experience, and what I was looking for in a job and a career. Monica is a great resource for local, higher paying jobs that have the potential to turn into full time employment as many companies work directly with Motus to fill positions. Not sure how many reviews are censored or removed here because I cannot fathom everyone having such a "happy" experience as I have had with this company(said in utter sarcasm). Like many a hook & bait staffing agencies(and there are plenty in this wonderful economy we must all live in today's America) they reel in potential candidates with their simply awesome posts on Craigslist. If you are are a job seeker looking for a paycheck to keep a roof over your head and food in your belly you end up taking their bait thus spending the time and gas/money(your really don't have) to play the game of employment seeker and "questionable" employer. Signed up with this company expecting communication and professionalism(something I feel all these agencies lack) what I got was days of waiting for simple answer to my questions and the feel that I was nagging for a job only because their promise of employment left me as flat as an old soda. I've spent enough time and aggravation to go nowhere with this company and warn YOU job seekers that they are NO different than the other dozens of hook & bait we offer you no job guarantee staffing agencies.. Personally your better off looking for work directly with a non staffing business then expecting these snake oil peddlers to offer you a cure for your financial woes.....its a shame I must stoop this low to offer my experience in hope others do not wallow in this companies empty promises!! read more

My experience with Motus on Redwood Lane has been incredibly positive. They are both very professional and a cheerleader. My recruiter, Monica, has been responsive in finding me a position that fit well with my values. She listened to what I was looking for in a company and set me up with one that had the right for me. Their front office administrative assistant, Staci, is also an incredible asset to the team. She remembered who I am, which helped humanize the experience of working with an employment agency. She was well organized and she had an "intelligent" demeanor like she really learned her position and took pride in it. I have completed my first (8 month) assignment and I'm looking forward to what is on the horizon. read more

I applied for a position online and was contacted by a Motus representative, Sharon. We spoke in-depth over the phone about what I liked about the position, where I saw myself moving forward, etc. At the end of the conversation, she let me know that she thought I'd be a great candidate not just for that position, but for many others as well, and we scheduled a time for me to come in. She was awesome and I went into the in-person really excited about potential opportunities. Upon arrival, I had an issue with my paperwork. (My fault, not theirs.) I worked it out with the receptionist and when I met with my recruiter, Arienne, I instantly apologized for the confusion. She replied with something along the lines of "I'm not sure what you're talking about - the recruiters are so busy, they know not to bother us with the administrative things". This response rubbed me wrong, but I'm all about brushing things off and moving forward, so we jumped into a conversation about my resume, where I see myself in the future, and the position I applied for. After my 15-20 minute spiel, Arienne let me know that they actually don't work much in the industry I'd like to be involved in. (Communications, PR, marketing, etc.) She also said that the position I specifically applied for was looking for an OLDER candidate, while noting that requesting an older candidate is illegal "but that's just the candidates we're seeing succeed in those interviews, and I don't want to set you up for failure". I was left with the impression that Motus doesn't have much internal communication going on at all and that Arienne hadn't so much as glanced over my resume prior to my arrival. My resume makes VERY clear where I want to go and the work I've done ("Communications Professional" is the sub-header right underneath my name in huge font) and just a peek would have saved me the trip and time. The superiority complex over the admin employees and the agist undertones were just the cherry on top. Do they get paid for me walking in their door? Because I see no other reason she'd want to waste her time, as well. read more

I had a very positive experience with Motus. Tifhani was my contact person and was really "on the ball" in terms of staying in touch and finding the right assignment for me. I landed a stint at Nike (there were several others from Motus there as well) and I am glad I had the experience. I had heard a lot about Nike (good and bad) and I was pleased to find it was not a place for me and I would not otherwise have found this out. I did land a job on my own which did not work out and I am going back to Motus. Tifhani responded to my email the same day. And I have met her in person several times. I do recommend Motus and was surprised RS had a bad experience. Motus was super easy to work with and helped me find a job in just a few weeks. If you ware new to the area or just in need of a job, they are a great agency to contact. However, once I had been working through their recruiting company for several months, I found responses became a lot slower and it took months for me to receive a miniscule raise (part of Motus's responsibility was navigating the pay increase). This wasn't entirely their fault by any means, but I do feel like their advocacy dwindled. read more

Awful, absolutely awful. I received a call from a recruiter named Jeanie and promptly called her back. When she greeted me she happened to pronounce my name wrong which is common, I simple stated my name with the correct pronouciation and she repeated it, letting me know that she understood. She then went on to her sales pitch, describing the job opportunity at lightening speed. At the end she asked if this was something I would be interested in and again she said my name wrong. I corrected her again and was about to explain that if I don't nip it in the bud I'll be called the wrong name for months at a job (yes that's happened). She didn't wait for my explanation at all but rather SLAMMED the phone down as soon as I corrected her again. I was honestly shocked to be treated that way. I called back and asked to speak w the director (Tiffany), I left a message detailing my experience and never heard back. This shows how insignificant people are to this firm, typical staffing agency that will throw anyone threw the door to make their numbers. read more

I've given Motus 5 stars because they were as good to me as it gets for both temporary and temp-to-hire positions. I worked with Sarah Boothby, who was always very responsive, informative, and friendly. Even the places that hired me through her raved about wonderful she is to work with. As someone who has held lots of admin type roles, I was always surprised at how "on it" Motus' admin support staff were, whether it was a reminder to submit my hours, helping me re-submit something, or answering a random question, they were incredibly warm and efficient. They also took time to visit every location I worked through them by checking-in, bringing treats, and making sure to show that their temp staff's hard work is really appreciated. I've worked with a lot of agencies over the years and the many places I've lived-- what really sets Motus apart (and why I always recommend them) is that they really work hard to make a time of work transition as stress-free and fun as can be. read more
