I went to this church for a year, with my wife and teenage son , and Were so sorry that We ever…read morewent to this place: this place was having a family fair for the town community: and these people seemed warm at first: and accepting that were Italian, not korean , we decided to go to their church services for a while: then these people changed: my son told me that when he was in their youth group, no one really connected with him because he was "American" and they were all Korean: they rejected him, and they all sticked in their own Asian pack: I myself as an adult, had the same problem with these people: they would not let me in the church building, one of the members said "this is a Korean church" and we were an Italian family: and these people were ovb judgeing us on our race: and skin color: my son later told me that their youth paster, was saying rebolsave things, to the youth: like his naked wife, and his male parts: my son even found porn in the youth pasters computer when the youth paster asked him to look up something: the youth paster followed my son to the boys bathroom, at a church lock - in they had: the church members where are just as wacky: they have an EM ministry, and we tried to get to know them as the body of Christ, but they never accepted us because we were Italian: this place has left damage to us, and traumatized my son: that we had to go to family therapy just to talk about the trama These people cause us: I wouldn't recommend going to this church: they are just plain rascit: I especially don't reccomdend it I you have younger children: they have a very bad youth paster there, and he might harm your children behind your backs. This man needs help from God.

My father went to church everyday and usually went to the early Polish service. This put me in the awkward position of having to worry that he would notice any mistakes I would make during the mass. One time I was altar boying the Polish mass with my friend Billy Emerick. Sitting across the altar from the other altar boy was something you did through a large portion of the mass. This one day we looked at each other and just starting cracking up. Our giggles grew into a muted laughter that I'm sure bothered many of the mostly older Polish parishioners, none more than my Father sitting in the front row. As I entered the living room that day to eat the apple turnover from the hilltop bakery I wasn't sure what expect. I was amazed when he simply said " you and your buddy looked like idiots up there" in his best Abe Vagoda voice. If I was still living in Bloomfield I would still be going to St Valentines church.

This is the place I decided to give my life to God and accept him as my savior. The Pastors, Anthony and Patricia Ventola are warm, humble people that accept you as you are. They are very involved in the church and like to know their patrons one on one. They are always available if you need to vent, need prayer or need general advice. I will admit , this is a bit of an old fashioned church. They don't particularly tackle the issues of today's younger generation (love, sex, dating in the age of yelp, money etc) however, they are very understanding of their demographic and try to cater to all. It is mostly an older crowd but all nationalities come to this church. They have a lot of different activities that are within the church such as Men of Vision ( a men's bible study group), Heart to Heart (a women's bible study group) , Sold Out Youth ( a youth group), dinners and events. Another plus is that they have a children's section with trustworthy babysitters from the church that take care of the toddlers while the main service is going on. Overall, it has been my spiritual home for a while and I suggest everyone visit!

I then reported this man to both the kitchen manager and Reverend Nathan Schultz, both of whom dismissed my concern over his behavior. Returning to my table the man in question continued his violent verbal threats toward me, whereupon I once again sought help from Reverend Schultz and the kitchen manager. Again having my concerns belittled by them I informed them that I wished a police response to the incident. At that point Reverend Schultz promptly escorted me out of the church, insisting that I never return. One wonders what the motive is of a man of God such as Reverend Nathan Schultz who actively supports the malicious behavior of one individual at the expense of another. Perhaps his mission at this church needs careful review, possibly by those to whom in the diocese he might have to answer to.

It is awesome! And the people here just really love Jesus with all their heart and I am so thankful to be surrounded by this type of community.
