It is one of the mountain in the Presidential Range. Via Caps Ridge Trail from Jefferson Notch road, it is 2.5 miles to the top. Out and back is 5 miles. 2600 feet elevation gain/loss. Good thing about this hike is the trail reaches the ridge early, so there is a lot of time to see the good views. Trail is challenging a little the last 1 mile: some scrambling required, but doable. Dogs friendly, but tough for dogs for the rocky scrambling part. The top is very windy but there is always one side winds are blocked. read more
