We had ordered heating oil through a division of your company, Mountain Energy Home Heating is Waynesville North Carolina. It was scheduled to be delivered on 01/29/2026. It did not come. We called and they said it would be there on Friday 01/30/2026. It never came. We called in the afternoon and they said they were on the way. It never came. We called again with no answer. The snow however did come. I did not attempt to call over the weekend, but we ran really low on heating oil. My husband had to go out and purchase 12 gallons of kerosine at $7.00 a gallon to get us through the weekend. On Monday I called Mountain Energy Home Heating all day, at least every hour and there was no answer. We left multiple messages with no call back. Tuesday was the same. No communication whatsoever with their customers. I finally reached out to another branch on Tuesday afternoon. That lady heard the desperation in my voice and emailed the Waynesville branch. They FINALLY called me back only to tell me they were not bringing us our oil because of snowy weather. The roads were scraped and other oil providers were delivering. We were able to get out of our driveway and into town with our 2 wheel drive car so this did not make any sense to me, but I also do not drive an oil truck. On Wednesday 02/07/2026 Mountain Energy refused to deliver again, although our road was totally dry by then. They finally arrived on Thursday morning, seven entire days after they were scheduled to deliver. It took them all of 15 min to fill the tank. I have relied on heating oil for over 30 years now and I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with a heating oil vendor. The customer service at Mountain Energy Home Heat is non-existent. You can call forever and no one will ever pick up the phone and if you leave a message, no one calls you back. Not letting your customers know anything during a snowstorm, when it is 20 degrees or less outside and people are relying on you? No updates, no communication at all? That is just wrong. Even my dentist office sent me a text that their office was closed. As someone who runs a large company myself. I know this is not how you treat your customers. Someone in charge of the franchise should take a deeper look at Mountain Energy Home Heat in Waynesville and their customer service practices. We will never order our heating oil from them again and I will never recommend Mountain Energy Home Heat to anyone I meet in the future. They need to do better. read more

We've been a customer for 5 years and but deliveries in the past year have been terrible - they tell us it'll be a week, but then no one shows. We call and they act annoyed that we are impatient, even though it's clear they forgot to put out order in. A few months later, it all happens again. Time to find someone who else who respects our time, health, and money. read more

BEWARE!! if considering using this company. I received a delivery of gas last June (or July) and after the truck left there was a strong odor of gas. I called and was told that the odor is normal for a short time after a delivery. The odor did not "go away" (ever). Later in the summer the fuel gauge showed zero gas. I called twice and visited their facility and finally they set someone out to fix the gauge. He couldn't fix it and said he had to get a new gauge. December 2018 "rolled around" and the gauge still did not work and the gas odor was STILL there. I was out of town and someone stopped by the house and called me and said the gas odor was very strong. I called Mt. Energy and they did stop and check the gas. The delivery person called and said that we needed gas and if we didn't get the gas the furnace, stove and water heater would have to be restarted. Since I was out of town and could not restart anything, I told him to fill up the tank. As it turned out the tank was 40 percent empty (60 percent full so I really did not need gas). Since the gas odor was still there, they wanted to do a pressure check and said that if the problem was in the tank there would not be a charge but if there was a problem between the tank and the house than I would have to pay for the test. I agreed, they did the test and found that an O-Ring on the tank regulator was bad. They changed it AND the gas odor went away (after 6 months). He then checked the house and said that there was a leak on the connection to the stove. (There was never a smell in the house). Someone else checked the connection and reconnected the stove without any problems or smell. Mt. Energy then charged me for the pressure test even through the O-Ring on their tank was bad, they never did fix the fuel gauge AND they charged me $3.50/pound (or gallon) for the gas that leaked that leaked out of THEIR tank. I paid the entire bill but ask if they would reimburse me for some of the gas and for the pressure test. As of this date they have never acknowledged my request - so in effect I had to pay for their problems. Would I recommend using Mt. Energy? Very friendly and prompt service. They might be more expensive than their competitors, but that's what you get when you have a company that is careful about your road and driveway, doesn't back over your plants or yard, is courteous and professional. Thank you to our driver Dustin. The driver shoveled my mothers walkway after an 8 inch snow.. put down salt and moved her car to the bottom of the drive so she would feel safe. Cant thank him enough. Their service is well worth the additional money. They don't include extra fees or lie about the price per gallon like their competitors. read more
