Everything is absolutely first class here. The manager is so personable, which is a great attribute to a new customer. When he recommends a restaurant, he even mentions favorites that are specialties of the house. But the warm hospitality doesn't end there- it emanates from every person that I met during our stay ! The lady from housekeeping, the front desk personnel, and the breakfast lady ! Not simply a smile and a friendly greeting, but a genuine concern for the quality of our stay, and a friendly word upon parting. It's hard to believe that this quality can exist at the attractive rates offered by this establishment. I have paid 3 or 4 times as much without the fantastic decor of the Lodge, much less the awesome staff ! My wife and I are considering a return visit. We like the Hendersonville area, but we love the Lodge ! 10 stars on a 5 star scale. Best stay anywhere, ever ! The people make the difference. read more

Great location and the team at the Lodge is fantastic. We originally stayed at a newer hotel in the area, but decided to try this property. The staff is very friendly, professional, and responsive. While it is an older property, the rooms are clean, and everything has been in good working order. We consider this our home base whenever we are near Hendersonville/Flat Rock. read more

The good is it is a lovely place with nice amenities in the room. There is a stove, refrigerator, microwave and everything needed to feel at home. The bad is we had to evacuate late at night due to the fires in our neighborhood. We had trouble finding a place nearby because of all the evacuees and firefighters. It was about 11:30PM when we arrived, and we paid almost $150, which was the regular room rate. The next morning I spoke with the manager who told me that this place was not "an hourly hotel." We didn't mind paying for our room, but under the circumstances, we feel our rate should have been adjusted. read more

In the area for a wedding and to visit our little girl. Very nice hotel, clean and mostly modernized. My bride & I had a very nice suite on the 3rd floor - the elevator, however, seemed sketchy - like it wanted to bump and jerk so hang on kind of sketchy. The complimentary breakfasts were very much "meh," so don't expect much as far as food goes at the hotel. If I need to stay in the area again, I'll definitely have the Lodge on my radar. read more

We booked two King Suite rooms and the overall experience at the Lodge was superb. All of the staff were professional, courteous and friendly. We initially spoke with Scott when we booked and asked for a scenic view. He delivered extremely well, a fantastic view of the waterfall in the back patio/yard area. Kristy checked us in and she was great. We enjoyed our conversations over the 3 nights. Sonia assisted us during the mornings the mornings and she was also very personable. The rooms suite included a separate bedroom and then the living/kitchen room. All very well-appointed and comfortable. The buffet breakfast staff was excellent, always ready for the 6:30 start. I would only recommend that they add some breakfast potatoes, bread for toast, etc. However, the selection was nice. The Lodge is near all of the sites, including Asheviile. A good center location. We would stay here again during one of our vacations in the area. read more

Great room in a great location. Excellent staff. We stayed here after booking tickets at the flat Rock theater. It was a convenient location. The room had everything one would need for a 3-4 day (or longer) stay. A large fridge, stove top and coffee pot. The rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable. The rear of the hotel had a beautiful fire pit and large patio. We fixed a few drinks in our rooms and took them to the patio and listened to the sound of the mountains. read more

This is quite possibly the best value in lodging I have ever experienced. The staff was extremely well trained and helpful. There were thoughtful little actions taken in advance of our arrival and specific to us. The facilities are nice and well cleaned, and the setting is beautiful. I 100% recommend this business. Since I know ownership/management is the type to read these reviews looking for areas to improve, the only possible gripe is that the shower curtain in our room was super cheap. With everything else being of higher quality and thoughtfully prepared the shower curtain created a bit of dissonance from the rest of the experience. But as well as everything else was managed, maintained, and prepared; this is nitpicking. read more

What a wonderful place to stay, right next to the interstate. Yet, you feel like you're miles and miles away from it all when you're there. You are overcome with peace upon entering. Calm music playing in the background, gorgeous interior, and friendly staff greet you. You know immediately that you are at the right place. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean, and utilitarian, in such a good way. There is a large kitchen, with full size refrigerator, cabinets, and even an electric cooktop. You could stay weeks here if you had to. The pool is heated and nice, if perhaps a little small, especially if a lot of guests are there. The breakfast in the morning is not incredible, but pretty good. You're not going to want to go out anywhere, as it is way too pleasant inside to go out to eat. I'll definitely be back. If you're anywhere near Hendersonville you should definitely give this one a try. read more

We stayed here last night (2/20/21-2/21/21). It is a model hotel that others should follow. It is pet friendly with no additional charge for pets. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with pillows that were the perfect amount of firmness. All fixtures and climate control worked as it should. Breakfast was included. There was a nice fireplace outside with plenty of patio furniture. They best thing was the owner greeted us by name every time he saw us, and was very personable. They did everything the could to make our stay the best possible, and succeded. We will definitely be back. read more

Just spent two nights here for a New Years Celebration. This place is an older quaint hotel that is very well kept up. We had a couple maintenance issues that were addressed quickly and complete. The rooms are very nice. We had a Studio suite with plenty of amenities that worked for us. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby was nothing more than cozy and comfortable for visiting with friends. I would highly recommend this hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Outside there is a real fireplace and a has fireplace as well with plenty of seating. Will return again some weekend. read more

We stayed here during winter storm Izzy with 12 inches of snow in 24 hours! The staff and the room could not have been any better. We had a king suite on the third-floor and overlooked the parking and field behind and found the bed and furniture very comfortable. Very much enjoyed our stay and got to spend a day playing in the snow. The breakfast was lackluster but we attributed that to Covid protocol. The only real disappointment was the candles in the fireplace in the main lobby. I think if you're going to call yourself a lodge you should at least burn some real logs. They did set a fire outside on Saturday evening but at 25° and snow falling, there wasn't much of a way to enjoy it. We will definitely be back. read more

Upon showing up we quickly became aware we booked the night before and would need to pay for a second night even though it was an honest mistake, because it's a third party website which they have no control of. Asking if they were full the night before they said no. ZERO customer support, rooms are ok, location although easy on of highway is marginal if you're looking for a Flat Rock experience. read more

We booked for our wedding, asking for the whole place all weekend! We offered to pay to save the rooms, and was told it wasn't necessary. We paid the deposit and MORE! And then Wendy emailed me that they had no rooms Friday and only 10 Saturday. By the end of our week long phone call back and forth she told me I was ridiculous to not want to stay at other hotels and "most" People wouldn't care. Then we got ahold the owner Scott who wouldn't give us our deposit back. We fought to get the extra money we sent. And we didn't even sign a contract because Wendy was so slack at her job. She continued to say things to us clearly getting confused with another wedding and never saved any of my info because she asked for my number multiple times. I will never deal with this lodge again and if you are planning on getting married or booking multiple rooms save your time. She clearly has friends at these other hotels and doesn't care what the customer wants. read more

We found this gem of a hotel looking for a halfway point on a frequent trip we take. It stood out to us as it was pet friendly, but usually pet friendly hotels lack in cleanliness, service and charge an extra fee per pet. We decided to take the chance on it after speaking on the phone to the front desk and hearing that there were no extra pet fees and they enjoyed dogs coming to stay. It did not disappoint! The lodge is so cute and homey. The rooms are clean. Staff is friendly, and our dogs love it! I also absolutely loved how they decorated for Christmas this time! I was a little concerned about the folded egg in plastic wrap, but it has melted cheese on the inside and was really very good. Staff is also great about providing honest restaurant suggestions. Was in town visiting a local vendor and they set us up for two nights at the Mountain Lodge. The place looks like it belongs next to something snow-covered. It's cute it's quaint and the lobby is rustic and full of leather furniture. My room was a suite with a little kitchenette and living room divided by double doors to a much larger bedroom. They offer a light complementary breakfast in the mornings. As with everything I've experienced so far in North Carolina the staff was very friendly. My only two concerns is that the desk was not a very comfortable working desk - it had a large leather executive like chair but it was not adjustable or it was broken so I looked like a little kid sitting at an adult table trying to type on my laptop. Additionally the shower nozzle was broken so while the water pressure would have been okay, only about half the water came out of the shower head the rest still coming out of the lower faucet. I had asked the front desk in the morning to try to fix it but by the time I returned later that evening they had not or weren't able to. Visiting from California which is in a major drought right now that was frustrating. Overall I would probably stay at this location again. The bed (where I ended up doing all my work) was pretty comfortable and it was quiet. read more

UPDATE: 5-days after posting this review (& 51-days after they received our original attorney's certified letter requesting a 14-day response), we finally received correspondence back from this establishment. It's unfortunate it took a public review to provoke a return statement. They are still refusing to return the deposit on the basis of an alleged signed agreement with a non-refundable deposit clause, but they still cannot produce the agreement we purportedly signed. They accused my original review to have intentions to { "Vilify" to "Slander" to "Defraud an Innkeeper" and to "Defame "Personal" character along with The Lodge at Flat Rock" }. My original review was simply a statement of facts and events that occurred with our experience with The Lodge and by no means used any defamatory language nor made an attempt to attack the business (read below for original review). I want our story to be heard, so future weds-to-be can be informed of how this venue treated us. My wife and I booked The Lodge at Flat Rock for our wedding on October 10, 2020. A few months before this date, we had to postpone our date until April 10, 2021, to comply with local and state guidelines regarding COVID-19. At the end of 2020, we realized that our new date also would not be able to come to fruition due to the unknown status of COVID-19 guidelines. We made the decision to suspend our wedding indefinitely and hold a small family gathering at home for our marriage. Since this pandemic is an Act of God circumstance with laws and regulations preventing us from having our originally scheduled wedding event, we reached out to the venue to kindly provide a refund of our $1,000 deposit. They responded back and declined to release our funds despite the laws against us from being able to have our wedding. They claimed we signed an agreement with a non-refundable deposit clause. When asked to provide us with the mentioned signed contract, The Lodge at Flat Rock failed to show any evidence of such. They only sent over the pricing quote sheet. We had an attorney mail a certified letter to the business requesting that our deposit be released immediately, but no return contact was made after several weeks from the date of delivery. We are now taking this case to the NC Department of Justice's Consumer Protection Division, as well as other online review platforms to share our negative experience and recover our $1,000 deposit that is being unlawfully withheld by this establishment. read more

If only I could give more than 5 stars on Yelp. When we pulled up for the beginning of the stay, my first impression was a clean, "cute" place to stay. Nothing overwhelming. Picked up my room key and checked out my one bedroom king suite. It was very clean and functional with a kitchenette, sitting room, separate bedroom and bathroom. If my review were to stop right here, it would be one of very reasonably priced, comfortable accommodations, but my story doesn't end here. As I went downstairs to the lobby area, I was greeted by a staff that immediately blew me away with their warmth and hospitality. As it turned out, my trip plans were scoffed at by Mother Nature and a snow storm destroyed my plans for seeing other parts of the area. No trouble for Scott and his staff, though...the Mountain Lodge team found a way to "throw together" a homemade lasagna dinner for my group of 30+ with less than 3 hours notice. Every time I turned around, there was another example of "Wow the customer". There really isn't a way to explain it. If you ever want to host a function where you have zero worries about something going wrong, this is the place. If you want to have a quiet weekend away, where the surroundings are warm and inviting AND where the people treat you like their favorite family member, this is the place. If you are simply stopping for the night after a day on the road and want a good rate for a great nights' sleep, this is the place. The only complaint I have regarding my stay is that I had to leave, but I'm already planning the next visit. read more

Awesome hotel located right off the interstate. I stayed here on a business/school related trip (at their expense) and this is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever had the luxury to stay in. The hotel is three stories but the room that I had came with a small kitchenette complete with a stove, a microwave, and a refrigerator/freezer. The shower worked perfectly without any hot or cold water issues. The beds were clean and cozy. The only gripe was that I did not have a remote control for my television in the room. The hotel grounds are small but nice. In the rear is an enclosed swimming pool with a small patio right outside of it. There is a faux waterfall and a hiking trail though the mountains. The front lobby is nice with plenty of seating. There are a couple of rooms where small conferences can be held. A negative is that there is no real business center where you can print or download items on the computer. The free complimentary breakfast was decent. It's what I expected so it is not going to be outstanding five star quality food. It was french toast sticks, pancakes, sausage or bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast burritos, bagels, and cereal. I recommend. read more

We travel all over the country. We have never stayed in a hotel that treats you like family as does the Mountain Lodge. Warm, genuine greetings each time you enter. Free breakfast every morning, a gym, ample parking. Large rooms, especially the bathrooms. Clean, pet friendly. Kitchen with electric cook top, large refrigerator, silverware, glasses dishes, and microwave. Beautiful lobby. Close to the interstate with NO road noise. Heated pool, back yard with a water fall and a fire pit! Taylor, Sonya, Cheryl, Scott and Wendy go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Customer service at its best! Wow how can you give this place anything less than 5 stars? A huge room, clean with a kitchen sink, microwave, stove, garbage disposal, coffee maker and a full size fridge. The lobby is beautiful, a dining room and hot continental breakfast with breakfast burritos a workout room and an enclosed, heated pool. A lookout from the pool is a waterfall view outside. A great view of the mountains from our 3rd floor suite. And all this for just a lil over $100 bucks? I'll do this every time I visit here! Let's just start off with Pam the so called night manager, the disgusting excuse for a hotel customer service representative. My family & I checked in for a night & was enjoying catching up after the ENTIRE year of not seeing each other. Mind you one of the 2 rooms we had were located directly above the front office & the rooms as noted previously in other reviews, the walls are cheap & thin so you can hear EVERYTHING. After playing a card game we wanted to get some food & had my brother & fiancé order food. My brother & fiancé went to pick up the food across the street & were greeted by police officers!!! Come to find out this b**** PAM called the police because she claims we were "too loud". Mind you not a single person came to our room to tell us there was a noise issue & we have a 2.5 year old child plus 2 dogs. After threatening a US army soldier & his family to remove us from the hotel they chose to "allow" us to stay & if we made noise we'd never be allowed back. Well GOOD RIDDANCE PAM!!! Because we will NOT be back nor will anyone we ever come in contact with. Corporate has also been contacted & this is the MOST disgusting form of hospitality I've ever been shown towards my family. You're disgusting Pam & you need to get a freaking grip on your personal issues which you claim have caused you "such a hard night". Worst experience hands down. read more

Since we went on a Groupon, I asked the checkout person what a typical price would be for a room. She said it fluctuates with the season and availability. I reserved online, and was looking forward to the stay. I made the mistake, ehmmm, of driving to the Mountain Inn and Suites, instead of the Lodge, which isn't visible from the road, I've learned. I hadn't a reservation there, in any case the "gentleman" wasn't very accommodating, and told me to leave, in no uncertain terms. I wasn't aware I was at the wrong hotel, but booked another hotel down the road for the night. I had also called my Visa Credit Card company to inform them I had not stayed at the hotel and they hadn't any record of me. The representative seemed pretty assured there wouldn't be a charge. After driving back from Flat Rock to Nashville, I checked my credit card, and a pending charge from the Mountain Lodge and Conference Center was there. I was enraged, based on my experience, to leave or else. I called, and spoke to a woman who didn't answer the phone until at least 15 rings or so. She told me I wasn't charged at all, and I got all the more upset with her, as it was clear the charge was on my card. I hung up and then called my credit card company, and we made a conference call. In actually, I don't like speaking to most reservation people, unless they are contentious, and efficient, she was flippant, even on a conference call with CapitalOne. I'm considered more than slightly "bright," and haven't enough patience I suppose, but we had to make another call to the manager, and I admit, I was quite abrupt, he told me off, and threatened to call me today (he did not). I've had a good deal of nonsense at other hotels, lately, and not from the hotel necessarily, another matter all together however. Regardless, my card has been charged for the reservation, I see in standing now, and I find that distastefully inconsiderate, as I made an honest mistake, went to the adjoining hotel, that they know of, and didn't spend the night there at all. In all honesty, it would seem, if they were reputable, they would haven't charged me, for an honest mistake... $110.36 seems rather harsh and rash. read more
