Completely sold us on staying at a B&B. Comfortable room in a converted 100+ year old house within walking distance of a great historic downtown. Social hour with wine and snack board is nice way to catch your breathe and chat with other guests, if so inclined. Perfect made-to-order breakfasts Hosts put hospitality in the hospitality industry.

Beautiful front porch for evening social.

Mike was an excellent host and the Inn provided everything we needed for a restful couple of days.

Social hour . Wine and cheese

Stayed 1 night during the apple festival . 100 %would stay again . Sad it was booked and we couldn't stay another night . We stayed in the Carolina mallow . A small room and perfect for my husband and I . Bed was comfy . The AC was nice and cool . Shower was great. Breakfast was delicious and amazing . We really enjoyed the happy hour with wines and cheeses. The staff was friendly and treated us well . Best of all , it's within walking distance of everything downtown ! What more could you ask for ?! Our first time in Hendersonville and we are already planning for the next trip back .

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast. - John Gunther 1898 Waverly Inn is a wonderful, historic Bed and Breakfast in Hendersonville, NC. The inn is quaint and comfortable. Each room is unique and tastefully decorated. Our room, The Dogwood, had a very comfortable four poster queen bed as well as a claw foot tub. The inn has comfortable seating areas and porches on both first and second floors. Breakfast was made to order, the earth eggs were fantastic. Coffee, tea and an awesome cake made by Darla was available throughout our entire stay. The owners, John and Diane are excellent hosts, friendly and great ambassadors for the area. The inn is perfectly situated within a minutes walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. If I'm back in the area again, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

What a beautiful place and overall experience! The breakfast on the weekend was best when they hire outside cooks and on weekdays when we were there, Mike cooked the breakfast for the guests. We loved the hospitality and cleanliness.

Came here for the 4th of July. The inn is fabulous! I've been to many bed and breakfast places and none have had the breakfast selection that they have. Also, super close to downtown so you can walk there and drink without having to worry about it. Lots of cute places downtown so you'll have plenty of choices for food and drink. Will definitely return.

Earth eggs, with spinach and mushrooms.

The Waverly Inn is delightful. The staff is friendly and prompt. Our room had an old claw foot bath tub, equipped with bath salts, bubbles, soaps and a rubber duckie. Make sure you get up in time for breakfast too. They serve 8-9 and it is well worth it. It is fresh and wonderful! Much better than your standard hotel continental breakfast.

    Cutely decorated tub.

It was such a great experience that I would recommend traveling to Hendersonville just to stay at the Elizabeth Leigh and eat at the restaurants on Main St. It's a very relaxing and classy small town. Main St. is a short 10 minute walk from the inn. When I walked into the inn, I was blown away by the elegant antique decor. The pictures online just don't do it justice. I stayed in the Blue Room. It had a large comfortable bed, two chairs, loveseat, wardrobe, and a few other various decor items. All the colors and patterns went together flawlessly. The bathroom was incredible. It had gold and white accents, but still went really well with the blue theme. There were plenty of fresh high quality thick white towels neatly rolled in a basket. The shower had an adjustable head. Water stayed warm the whole time despite showering at the same time as other guests. Breakfast was southern, filling, elegantly served, and tasted amazing. The first breakfast was eggs, bacon, and thick French toast. The next was a cream cheese, berries, and French toast casserole or 'hot dish' depending on where you're from. There was complimentary bottled water, wine, ice cream, homemade white chocolate macadamia cookies, homemade pound cake (which was wonderful), and beer. Now possibly the most enjoyable part, the rest of the property. The inn has a wraparound porch with big white rocking chairs that overlook the yard and the little street in front of the house. The backyard has a fountain, swing in front of a little waterfall pond, and corner area with seating. There are multiple places to have private conversations with your loved one(s). If you get the opportunity, getting to know the owner Cindy and her husband Mike will be the best part of your stay. The inn is an expression of Cindy and her dream to give guests a relaxing, but high quality environment to experience genuine southern hospitality in the gorgeous mountains of western North Carolina.

So I have been staying here a few times a year. Parking is around the perimeter of the hotel and you can use your key to enter from doors near where you park. On my last visit, I got back late from a performance so I appreciated the multiple entry doors and all the lighting in the parking lot as the spots in front were taken. When I arrived, I was given a feather-free room but on the second floor. The room was clean. The walls were on the thin side or the couple next to me were just loud talkers. The tv lineup was good for the little time I was in the room. WIFI was in the good range. Breakfast had a pancake maker; waffle maker, mini quiches and breakfast sandwiches; some cereals; oatmeal and breads. The hotel is good for an overnight stay.

A very serious ice/snow storm was forecaster for our area and, as we don't have a generator at our home, we needed to find a hotel on a main road that might not lose power. Due to their reviews and location, we chose to stay at the Fairfield for three days. While power went out at our home for over 25 hours, the power and the internet at the Fairfield remained in place. We had selected a room with a king bed. The room was tastefully decorated with ample sources to charge our electronics. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. Though, I really think the bathroom was the most remarkable aspect of the suite. The shower is quite large--as is the bathroom itself--and the bathroom mirror has LED lighting, The breakfast (my favorite meal of the day) was outstanding. There were eggs and bacon or sausage, a pancake bar, and a very generous cereal and granola bar. Finally, the staff--including the manager Nick Tarleton--couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, and focused on the cleanliness of the facility. Hunkering down in the hotel (unable to leave because of the storm), we saw them often. A special shout-out to the woman who manages the dining area--she was a delight to encounter each morning. Unfortunately, their pool area was closed due to updates, however, we did go into the gym which contained new equipment and generous options for working out. To summarize, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Fairfield. Very easy access off of I-26, which makes it a great base for seeing the many sites and mountain destinations for which western North Carolina is known.

So this review is going to tell you about what we thought were the positive and negative aspects of staying at this hotel. Dog friendly with outside entry into the rooms which is great for walking your dog. We weren't told that dogs weren't allowed inside the main lobby. Reasonable priced with a weekly rate and $15 a day for a dog. The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny. Carpeting was worn and frayed and exposed the tackless. When we advised the management about this, they gave us another room. The staff was caring and rectified any problem we had. In the second room, the refrigerator stopped working. One call to the front desk and the handyman was there to fix the problem. The housekeeper Maria was wonderful. Rooms were spotless but the rules said you were entitled to only one cleaning a week, which was ridiculous. Jerry was very helpful at the front desk too. The location was very good, right off the highway and close to the beautiful downtown. There is a Mexican restaurant right inside the front lobby. The dog walk area was very well maintained with replacement baggies for dog waste.

I did speak to a very nice lady who took my information via phone but I still had to fill in a on line form and send a copy of my drivers license once I got off the phone. Got all the information sent in and back--text indicated I was in cabin 27 and had the code for the door. No problem at all getting into the cabin. Cabin was spotless and the queen bed was very comfortable. The cabin had a small fridge and freezer compartment (so I was able to refreeze my cooler blue ice pack and cool down additional sodas for the next day of traveling) and a nice work desk. The bathroom had plenty of nice towels (lots more than I would use--my wife would have LOVED it). WiFi worked great and I had a much-needed break from the road. I would have liked to have information on some of the trails nearby because I would definitely consider coming back to this area. I would definitely stay here again as long as I was traveling without my dogs. I FaceTimed my wife and she really loved the place--she and her sister may come and stay here depending on what trails and other places are in the vicinity. An added bonus (for me) was that the exit from the highway had a Waffle House so I had a place to get breakfast before getting back on the highway.
