This place is well named! Located on a gorgeous mountain with a beautiful valley going thru it, this place is stunning! We were looking for such a location for our wedding and this place worked out great! The setting is just fantastic and I'll post some more pictures to show you so! It rained on our wedding day...Not too much, but it rained...there was rolling fog coming thru the valley and it made for an amazing backdrop! I was very much impressed with the scenery, even on a cloudy day. I actually golfed the day after the wedding when it was nice and sunny and the place looks fantastic. I'm not an avid golfer, but I do play a few times a year and this was a great course to play on! They have 2 18 hole courses and the prices are pretty good as you might imagine for the location here. Given how nice the day was and how I just didn't want to leave, playing golf for a few hours worked out great! Nice way to wind down after the wedding. They did a great job decorating, we were very pleased with how the venue looked. We were not able to use the outdoor bar due to the wet weather, but it still worked out nicely inside. I do wish the food was better...We went with a buffet and I was non-plussed. It was OK. The chicken and mashed potatoes were actually quite good. But the beef was sliced so thin and cooked so dry it wasn't any beef I'd order unless it was served on a roll with cheese. I also found out the next day that we ate the exact same food\buffet that is offered to the golfers in the players club. Same chicken, same beef, same silver metal serving trays with sterno keeping them warm. This was a bit of a let down for me, I'd think for a wedding they would bring in something special that they didn't serve on a daily basis. We also did a brunch here the day after the wedding. Same silver metal serving trays, now filled with eggs, sausage and the like, as well as some wraps\sandwiches. This was good and a nice way to wrap up the wedding and say goodbye to our guests. It's about a mile from the MainStay Suites where we stayed...very convenient...had a shuttle running back and forth all night and it worked out well! I had never played this course. My wife and I played the "Mountain" course. There are two courses. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout. Tight with woods on both sides on a few holes. Many holes were fairly wide open. Several waste areas. Greens were cut well so putting was moderately fast. I am currently a 9 handicap and found a good test at this course. Carts ran well. Good fast food afterwards. Bar as well. People extremely friendly. We must go back. Under $30 per round per senior rate including cart. We had a very enjoyable day. read more

My poor niece left in tears today. The day that was supposed to be the best day of her life. Beautiful views but 2nd class everything else. Bathrooms were dingy and dirty. There is potential for a very nice venue if they updated and did a thorough cleaning. All that aside the reason my niece left her wedding night in tears was because the party planner cut the venue off an hour earlier than what was discussed. Leaving her feel attacked and unwelcome. The staff only backed off when they saw someone recording and taking pictures. Any venue willing to escalate a situation enough to bring a happy bride to tears and darken the memory of her special day is not a venue that cares about their clients. Think twice before looking into booking here. read more

Not a great design and intentional neglect combine to make this a completely wasted time

We had our sons wedding here last Saturday. The venue is beautiful. The ceremony was in the outside pergola, and the reception in the main hall. This wedding had been planned for 2 years, and Tuesday before the wedding the coordinator up and quit! To say we were in panic mode is an understatement. Shannon stepped in and handled everything perfectly! She told us she's been there for years and handled many weddings (what did the other coordinator even do?) and it was clear she had. They own the hotel up the ride so we checked in Friday afternoon and didn't move our cars until Sunday when we left. They had coordinated shuttle service for multiple times events for the entire bridal party and then the guests. From our rehearsal and dinner on Friday night it was clear that we were in good hands! The day of the wedding Shannon met us there at 8 am and had the bridal suite all set up for us. She was there the whole time until the end 10pm, and answered every question, directed every place setting and handled all the nerves of the bride and groom. Truly she was the perfect person to handle the wedding. The entire staff was so pleasant and helpful ( shout out to Susie), the guests even commented on it to us. I was planning my wedding, that was rescheduled because of COVID then canceled. They kept our deposit and our letter with the check for the second payment wasn't even made out to the correct names. Very frustrated. Not personalized. We were just another number to them. They are not understanding of situations out of our control. I am so happy I did not get married here. I am frustrated they made money off of me with their sub-par food. read more

Used to be my favorite place to play golf. Drive an hour to play. Last fall the courses were in decline. Tee boxes, bunkers and around the greens. Just played this week and it is worse. Obviously they are focusing on being a wedding venue and letting the golf courses go downhill. I won't be making that trip again. read more

Attended a wedding reception here at the Season's Restaurant, which was beautiful. The room inside was perfectly sized for a 100 person or less wedding and the table and room decorations were absolutely fitting of a fancy reception. The back deck overlooks the golf course. Ample parking. Food and service was delicious. This facility alone would get a 4 star rating, but i bumped the overall rating down because of the following: Prior to the Season's restaurant opening for the reception, we went to the nearby (just across the cart path) pavilion and closed in eating area that served simple foods (burgers, dogs, fries, etc) and cheap beers to golfers and others passing through. it was a nice enough facility, complete with multi-person bar area, several TVs and multiple tables in and outside. However, after we sat down to eat, we saw two of the kitchen staff outside smoking. After finishing, they came right back into the kitchen (visible from the seating area), didnt wash their hands and one of them went right back to handling food! (pulling fries out of the fryer, putting them in a to-go box, and smashing them down with his hand - disgusting!! Id never eat here again after seeing such a blatant disregard for sanitation. Im sure this goes on elsewhere, but to see it so openly just turns my stomach. Never again. read more

We were there a couple of weeks ago sat outside the waiter and the service were outstanding we couldn't wait to go back. Today we went back sat outside the waitress took our drink order and appetizer order we did get our drinks and appetizer and sat and sat and sat she never came back to check on us let alone take our order until we finally got up and left what a disappointment, the kicker was when we went inside to pay the bill there wasn't anyone in the dinning-room. We will try it again hopefully we'll get a more attentive waitress read more

I wanted to truly enjoy our wedding day- to be able to relax wth family and close friends and really celebrate all of life's greatest gifts. Choosing Mountain Valley as our venue really made that happen. Elaine is the events coordinator there- she is incredibly knowledgeable about putting on events and whether you're very organized or a procrastinator like myself, she will ensure that everything is taken care of for your big day. I really cannot brag enough about the beautiful person she is and what a huge part of making the process go well she is. I was astounded at how fast she was to answer all our questions (and we had so many!) and how quick she was to help us do everything. Putting on an event takes a lot of people, and I just have to also say that every person that we interacted with on the staff (shout out to Gorilla/Robert, Jodi, Noel, and Reese in particular!) went above and beyond to make us and all our guests feel really special and taken care of. Weddings usually have a lot of out of town guests or adult beverages, so the shuttle to and from the nearby Comfort Inn and Suites was a life saver for us and all our guests. Everyone commented on how impeccably clean and comfortable everything was there. And finally, let's not forget that the venue itself is gorgeous as well- everyone commented on what a secret treasure the place is. No matter what the weather (rain or shine!), you will have a place to enjoy and a picturesque view. If you have a wedding ceremony there you can rest easy because there are both amazing outdoor and indoor places to have it. If you're planning a big event (wedding or otherwise), you can confidently choose Mountain Valley as your destination! read more

I was at the restaurant today for lunch. It was the Retired Nurses Lunch. This was the first time here. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad. It was very good. I especially liked the shaved parmesan cheese with the salad. The waitress's were very attentive and nice. Will definitely go back again for a meal. I just returned home from a play-and-stay weekend at the Comfort Inn hotel and Mountain Valley Golf Course. It was a GREAT experience all around. The golf course was in pristine shape! The madness on the mountain Friday deck party was a ton of fun with cheap drinks and good music. The meals I had throughout the weekend tasted great, food seemed extremely fresh and the employees were able to customize my orders. Additionally, all of the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend a play-and-stay weekend or at least a round of golf. read more

This review is for their Friday Night Deck Party. Very cheap cover charge at only 5 bucks. The view from the deck is amazing, lush and green, overlooking the golf course. Drinks are super cheap as well, 2 bucks for a draft beer...The DJ was decent. The crowd didn't do much for me, seemed kinda snobby and cliqueish. I would go back though because the people watching is awesome. read more

Friday night deck party is pretty good. There's a lot of people there and the drink prices are pretty amazing (I got Rum and RedBulls all night for $3 each). The DJ is completely horrible though. I don't think he played a single song newer than 2010 except "22" by Taylor Swift which nobody wants to hear. They might as well have had T102 playing. read more

Just did a two day play and stay and would recommend to any group looking for a nice place to have an outing. The golf courses are in great shape and the affiliated hotel (Mainstay Suites) is nearly brand new and very clean. The golf staff, led by John Rizzo, was very friendly and accommodating. Following the round beers were only $2 and the Friday night deck party is awesome. My group will be heading back in the Fall to get a look at the course and nearby Locust Lake State Park as the leaves begin to turn and the colors are most vibrant. read more

Our group of four traveled from Harrisburg, PA to try out the golf courses by way of the Stay and Play package that is offered by Mountain Valley and the close-by (2 miles) Main Stay Suites. We are very happy we did! Both golf courses were very challenging, very scenic, well taken care of and with a diversity of holes that were never boring and required every club in the bag. Golf course staff were very friendly and went out of their way to treat us well, particularly John Rossi, the gentleman through which we booked the trip. All food at the two meals we had at the beautiful clubhouse with the fantastic view was very good. Main Stay Suites is fairly new and the rooms were spacious, clean and featured all of the amenities you would expect in a suite. The route to and from the golf course and hotel were clearly marked with signage. At $120 per person for two rounds of golf and a night at the Main Stay (Fri. & Sat. Night price, $99 for Sun. - Thurs.) it was a real bargain! We will surely be returning frequently. Highly recommended! read more
