Dr. Reeder is a caring, thorough, and skilled dentist. When Dr. Taylor, my previous dentist,…read moreretired he chose Dr. Reeder to take over his thriving practice. I trusted Dr. Taylor's choice and feel he did well. For over a year now I have gone in for my regular checkups at Dr. Reeder's office with no problems. In February, 2018 I realized I needed a hip replacement. I saw my primary care doctor, as advised, for my pre-op evaluation and was cleared for surgery. Then two weeks before I was scheduled for my hip replacement surgery I discovered a problem in my mouth. I called Dr. Reeder's office explained my concern. They got me in to the office immediately. After examining my mouth Dr. Reeder discovered I had an abscess under one of my teeth. Knowing I was going in for major surgery he set out to help me address the problem which included having a permanent bridge installed. This went forward amazingly smoothly because he has the latest technology at his fingertips and a wonderful support staff. Due to no fault of Dr. Reeder, or his support staff, the bridge didn't arrive by UPS as promised the Thursday before my scheduled surgery on Tuesday of the following week. He learned that it was at the distribution site in St. Johnsbury. The next morning, Friday, he drove over personally and picked up my permanent bridge and had me into his office at 12:00 PM calmly putting it into my mouth. I left an hour later ready for surgery and five weeks post-surgery I can happily report I have no complications from either procedure. If you are looking for a capable, caring, compassionate dentist I highly recommend Dr. Reeder. He is exceptional in the field of dentistry and cares about his patients health and well-being. I feel the same about his stellar support staff. They all work together to help make dental care go smoothly.

For those who just like a short review and don't like to read long ones, I will make this short and…read moresweet this is the best dentist I have ever met in my entire life. I am a senior and have been to many high end dentists in New York and some who work in Beverly Hills and do cosmetic dentistry, and by far Dr. H is the best person I have ever met, and his quality of work and care for you as an individual is outstanding. For those who are still reading, I have a lot to say about my office experience here. From the time we walked through the door me and my spouse were expecting another run of the mill dental office visit when we went to the reception area we were greeted by a friendly and happy and nice lady she greeted me and my wife was polite handed us some paper work to fill out and took it back with a smile so we sat down as we were waiting a gentleman walked by me I did not know who he was at the time he looked me in the eyes smiled and said hello how are you today and I happily greeted him back I looked at my watch I thought, Ok, I will have to settle in and wait an hour like I did at some of the biggest practices in Vermont, one in Stowe and Essex Junction that I would never recommend to anyone. The staff at those facilities I had gone to were rude, nasty, and had an air about them as if I had done something wrong coming to them wanting to be a patient from the minute I walked through the door with my spouse. I have learned if your first point of contact from the receptionist is not a good one you should not be there that means who ever runs the facility allows them to be that way and they are probably that way themselves and it proved to be true at both those facilities I have went to they do not care about people, did not care about the issues that need to be addressed they wanted to do a full work up and piece meal the teeth out and have a patient for life and waste a lot of your time I only sat waiting 10 minutes to be taken in to the appointment with my spouse immediately to be greeted by a lovely dental assistant who not only was beautiful on the outside she was just as beautiful on the inside Almana was friendly, courteous, very attentive to our immediate needs and she was very skilled not only did she take the time to address all the issues she also shared a little about herself and her life and you can see how wonderful she was and has a true love for pets. I was very blown away so far at how nice we were being treated, and then Almana several times offered to get me a beverage of my choice and was above and beyond wonderful. This practice is lucky to have her. This would have been just enough for me to come back until I met Dr. H! This gentleman walked into the room greeted me politely, shook our hands, asked if we would like anything he also then listened to all our concerns as my wife has had cosmetic dentistry done and we wanted to make sure everything matched and she could be taken out of pain he accessed the situation took several sets of images and xrays and said yes I can get you all fixed up he treated her like a top priority to him he immediate began steps to get her out of pain, repair her damaged crown and was able to do it all in one visit he has a cerac machine for those of you who do not know what this is this is a machine that can make you a crown on the spot through 3d imaging of your mouth and the adjoining top and bottom teeth not only did he match the color but the fit and finish was beautiful and amazing. While the crown was being made, he took the time to share a little bit about himself and how he ended up in Vermont. I noticed that this gentleman had a commanding presence he had served his country in the Navy and obtained the rank of lieutenant commander, and I can see by the way that he carries himself and his true professionalism that it was deserved. I am not an easy person to impress, but this man did impress me he exuded confidence and professionalism, and I felt my wife was in good hands. I have a background myself in law enforcement; I am readily hesitant, unfortunately, when I meet people. This is not the case with Dr. H. What you see is what you get a hardworking man with wonderful staff, and as an added bonus, I had the chance to meet two wonderful dogs. They were well mannered, and one sat next to me quietly and allowed me to pet him while my spouse was getting the work done. What was a long appointment seemed like minutes because Dr. H was so friendly and engaging. I felt as if I just left my best friends house that I knew for years. I had to stop and take a look at how long this review is, and I am so sorry it is so long. I could easily continue on, but I will tell you this much if you are on the fence and you are thinking about going anywhere else, DONT. Make your appointment with Dr. H. I was truly grateful for the interaction I had with the dentist and staff. He is worth traveling for if I had to drive 100 miles to see him, I would.

Initially I found this place on a whim while in between dentist and needing a rootcanal…read more They were able to squeeze me in and help me out However over the next few months I noticed some difficulties with staff and communication and there were at least 2 dental assistants who were very young, and clueless about 'social cues' or basic manners...during my root canal I needed to communicate something about feeling sick and couldnt speak so I motioned for a pen and paper to write it down and the assistant rolled his EYES and shook his head as the dentist continued to drill away so I just surrendered and shut up but bitterly Then during my last time there, I was scheduled for a routine hygentist appoint for a cleaning and was running 10min late I called ahead and said so, and they were clear that they may or may not be able to see me when I I arrived(I was fine with this and said "no problem I understand") To my surprise , they said they could see me(the place was completely EMPTY) and upstairs I went to meet a woman who had nothing short of an ATTITUDE problem the minute she introduced herself and it was obvious she was annoyed about something (but at this point I didn't take it personally since they has told me I was 'welcome to come in for my appointmen despite being 10min late) She then did a quick assessment only to inquire why I hadn't fixed a broken tooth to which I replied, "because the dentist and I have a plan in action about which teeth to prioritize fixing and the one you are pointing out, was the last on the list" To which she became SNIPITY and body language displayed intense defensive and irrability... She then declared "you have alot of tarter so brace yourself because I'm going to have to go in deep to clean it out"(which long story short shocked the next dentist who I saw just a month later who said there wasn't any tarter or on the spectrum next to nothing to complain about) to which I replied'" can we pause for a moment I'm not sure I understand why and your starting to makw me feel uncomfortable" To this, she threw off her mask sat down across from me and in a curt and angry tone with her face twitching, she said " for starters you were 10 minutes LATE!" To which i replied they let me in after I said it would be fine if you couldnt see me, but now yiur holding it against me? So I said "Fuck THiS, took off my apron got up and proceeded to leave and go downstairs to ask to speak with the dentist who I waa supposed to see after her to look yet again at the root canal I'd just had that was giving me some problems When I got to the front desk, the hygentist had zoomed in behind me to another entrance inside the receptionist area and before I had a chance to ASK to speak with a dentist or in the VERY least her superio, she declared "he SWORE at me and is now LEAVING! Before I left I stood there now completely confused and asked to speak with a dentist to which the receptionist said "you heard her, you can leave" I left in a storm and then called back in 5 minutes to have someone else pick up the phone and I explained what happened She APOLOGETICALLY said , " there was an internal issue the dentist had with the hygentist before you even got here and it's been a very hard day here that has NOTHING to do you having been 10 minutes late...I'm so sorry she blamed her bad day on you and I'll have the owner call you to figure out another day you can come back to have your teeth cleaned and looked at Then within a few minutes the owners WIfE calls me, profusely apologized again on behalf of the wicked witch of St Johnsbury, and said "next month we have a new person from Texas coming and he will be a better fit if you can wait that long...I said I wanted to come in person to talk directly to the owner about the whole DEBACLE before i felt even remotly comfortable going back. Fast forward to that following week, I went in and sure enough after talking to the owner and his wife the hygentist fabricated story of me 'swearing at her' continued to be perpetuated by her lies and despite all that they told me they were "seriously considering firing BOTH the dentist and hygentist" this brought me some peace of mind that they weren't gas lighting me but as it turns out they never did and it was just a way of coercing me into coming back for the 10k worth of dental work they realized they'd be short on having lost yet again another client.... It aint just me folks! I'll say it like I've read another prior review here "These people are MONSTERS.... Yup...couldn't agree MORE

One of the crowns fell off less than a month after placement and then it loosened up and caused the molar underneath to decay to the point where I had to have it extracted! The second crown is not good either and has pulled away from the tooth a bit so that that molar I may lose also! The dentist allows her technician to place crowns which only a dentist should do! I filed a complaint with the NH Dental Society and they supported me and had her reimburse me for the shoddy crown that caused me to lose my tooth. I also heard that one of her patients had a tooth filled by her technician! The patient did not realize that this was not the dentist until after the work was done. I wouldn't take my dog to this dentist! This was the worst dental care I have had in my life!
