Since then, I've contacted them very many times, and each time they affirm that Cottage Hospital indeed owes me that refund... and each time they don't know why that refund, although authorized, has not been issued. It's now February 2025, eight months later, and there is still neither any payment nor any explanation forthcoming. Meanwhile, my wife also went around and around about one of her bills at Cottage Hospital; they kept insisting that she owed hundreds more than our insurance company allowed. Her struggle only went on for about four months, though. This after many years of being faithful Cottage Hospital clients. Recently, though, they changed their software and lost most of our medical records... and I think they also changed ownership. No more. Now we deal exclusively with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

They are now part of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Alliance so they can provide additional services that they once could not. My parents still come here when they have too. They are not big on Doctors, but will come when forced. Have have an ER, urgent care, and clinic. They also have an Long term care skilled rehab center on site as well an professional building that house many specialists. I spent the night here once when I was five years old or so. I swallowed a penny (I was very orally fixated) and it got stuck in my throat. I had to have surgery and then I pooped it out about 2 weeks later. Nice!

She had seen a dentist earlier and had x rays taken but nothing was revealed. Upon checking in and waiting about 20 minutes, Joe ,PA, came in and looked and immediately identified her problem(stone in her gums, and prescribed medication to address her pain and swelling. He also said the first weekday, an ENT doctor will be referred for a visit. I was pleased with the care and most importantly, the quick diagnosis Joe reached. Since we are snowbirds, our primary doctors are South and I would recommend this establishment if in a pinch. Addendum: Joe diagnosed the source and prescribed an effective antibiotic but we never heard back with an ENT referral.

The hospital is immaculate and kept clean by a staff of friendly custodians who take time to ask how you, the patient, are doing. The food was not great, but who expects great food at a hospital. They explained things to me calmly and easily and checked on us often. The nurse brought her a special little sippy cup with water and ice that she brought home and loves! The care from the doctors, nurses respiratory specialists was wonderful, and my daughter isn't afraid of the hospital or doctors because of the wonderful staff at Memorial Hospital! Thank you all
