Don't tell me to wear a mask if you were t when I walked in. I walk in and ready for my appt, fill out paperwork. They hand me a box and say, your going to have to wear a mask. I don't "have" to do anything. I choose not to use your facility. Canceled my appt and walked out. Oh and by the way the wife and kids will not be using you as a medical facility anymore. read more

It's a given now days that you should take your health into your own hands. It's even more important at Mountain View Medical Group. I think the more informed you are the more likely you'll feel like you're at odds with the doctors and PA at this office. I generally find the support staff pretty friendly. Most the time they will even go out of their way to help you out. But for the most part, it's been the only primary care place in town. That could be changing with the YMCA offering satellite service (although those can be expensive and sometimes you get multiple bills - another story). Overall, if you need some kind of obvious care, you're probably okay. I agree with some others that the doctors and the PA can be a bit condescending (you'll sense their political views - why would that even come up during a doctor visit). So all in all, you won't die, but the experience leaves something to be desired. read more

Perry Schlachter PA and Dr. Shahan are the best ever! We changed over from CSHP on Dublin. The office manager is a pain to deal with (at least its only been twice) but EVERYONE ELSE (except PA Gayleen-she has the personality of a wet towel, and is about as smart as one. IMO) is absolutely awesome. Great place with easy staff and access. read more

I had huge issues with a woman named Evette. She refused to help or let me speak with my doctor, when asked why I could not she simply said her computers were frozen and that was that. I really needed a prescription filled and she refused to help. I am now looking to find a new doctor and would suggest all those looking to look somewhere else. read more

I have come to this practice for a long time and am not a "hater", but I have to say that care has gone way down hill. First, Dr Klismith gave me a severe burn and scar in order to remove a skin tag, which I've had done many times uneventfully. I have no confidence in her skills as a result. Second, PA Morrison just declined to give any pain relief for an acute back pain episode. You would think that a decade of history devoid of any opiod requests would show I am not a druggie. Opiods are appropriate for short term, acute pain relief rather than chronic conditions: exactly what I was experiencing. I don't know whether she just doesn't care that I am in excruciating pain or whether company policy now prohibits the use of opiods for any reason. Either way, I feel that this medical practice failed me when I really needed them. read more

I just returned from waiting 90 minutes to have my blood drawn for my yearly physical. I even called before I drove to the office to ask if it was a good time to come in for my lab work. When I checked-in I asked how long the wait would be, I was told that they can't tell me that. I then asked how many people were ahead of me for lab-work and they weren't able to answer this either. During my hour and a half wait, I went up to the front desk 3 different times to ask about how much longer it would be, and I was told "we'll look into it", but nobody got back to me. I have had a few problems in the past with the front office being unfriendly and this experience is the last straw. I am planning on changing my medical provider after my yearly physical with Dr. Shahan. I have been happy with his care as a physician , but I am not happy with the way the office is run. They are stuck in an archaic system that is not efficient and not patient centered. I think it's important to be comfortable with your entire health-care experience, with many more options in the Monument area, I will need to look elsewhere. read more

MVMG cost me $2000! Made an appointment for the next morning, nurse diagnosed me over the phone and commanded me to go to the ER immediately, ER DRs laughed and said with my symptoms, she should've known better. ER nurse said MVMG is notorious for this! I called MVMG office manager, she said they will use this example for training but they did not make me go to the ER so there's nothing they can do for my $2000 ER bill!! Read the details... My family found a better doctor's office. I contacted MVMG Thursday afternoon, January 4th requesting an appointment to check my abdomen pain. There was an opening for Friday morning which I accepted, but then the receptionist asked how bad my pain was, and I admit, it was pretty bad, she then put a nurse on the phone. I explained the pain, mentioned that it could be torn muscle, or I read online (we all have a WebMD degree right) that the location is common for diverticulitis. The nurse told me to get to an ER immediately. I questioned her, asking if I can wait until the appointment the next morning, she asked me if I had any nausea or fever, I said no, then she said, just to be cautious, go to an ER right now because if it is diverticulitis my intestines can rupture and be fatal. Scared out of my mind, I rushed to the ER, the lady at the front desk of St Frances called Mountain View and asked for a doctor's referral so they could just cover me for an MRI instead of an ER visit $$$, the nurse told the front office lady, no, I need to go to the ER immediately. The front office lady questioned her, but the nurse strongly insisted. The front office lady apologized and sent me to the ER where a doctor came in touched my stomach and said I have a torn muscle. I explained what happened with Mountain View Medical, the ER doctor said they should know better, especially since I have no fever or nausea, and the ER nurse said that is a frequent practice for Mountain View Medical, they get this all the time from them. I called Mountain View Medical, the office manager said they did not drive me to the ER, it was my choice to go... after an over the phone diagnosis from the nurse that in so many words said I could die! She went on to say that they will use this situation for training purposes, and she thanked me, then apologized that there's nothing she can do. She also brought up a situation last week about a senior home that called and their patient with a heart condition history with chest pains, he didn't go to the ER as suggested and sadly passed away that night. She compared that situation with mine... I'm 48, very healthy, and very active. What logic in any universe would compare the two? In all fairness, I'm not mentioning any names, because the staff there is very nice, doctors are OK, a little condescending, and there were times my wife said they asked her what she thought they should do and gave her a price breakdown of her choices??? Her question back was, you're the doctor, what should you do?? My wife is happy to find a new doctor. Anyway, we tolerated enough and MVMG lost a whole family over a $2000 misdiagnosed phone call, and no desire to help. By the way, you're welcome for the $2000 training, I got this. read more

I will never go to this doctors office again! They don't even deserve one star! Throughout the years my family and I have had too many absolutely HORRIBLE things go wrong because of the incompetent doctors that work here! Once, my mom went in because she was sick with a severe flu and they didn't take her blood pressure and simply just told her she would get better in a couple of days. Well if they would have taken her blood pressure they would have realized that something was severely wrong. Long story short she had pneumonia and almost died the following day because they were incapable of doing their job. One time my dad went in to have some blood work done and when he went back for a follow up they told him he had leukemia and that he was dying! He went to another doctor and they later found out a week later that they "accidentally" got his blood work mixed up with someone else! I continually hear people getting misdiagnosed with cancer, diabetes and other diseases! Stories this absurd are endless and I won't bore you any further. But trust me, if you live in the Tri-Lakes area it is worth the drive to Colorado Springs or even Castle Rock to avoid the train wreck of this doctors office! read more

1 star because of office staff and Director of Operations. Office staff will not return multiple emails, gave me wrong dates for appts. They sent incorrect referral type to specialist. 2 months later, I got bill for $500. Office Mgr, Debbie, lectured me on why it is my responsibility to double check and ensure they sent the proper referral (who knows there are different types, doc-2-doc and Aetna Referral ID?) to the specialist. Refused to help. Complete frustration. The Director of Operations, Nancy Turkal and her secretary Chris Tharp will not return any emails. Nobody will help. I've been a patient there almost 20 years. I've been very nice and cordial, they have been nothing but unprofessional. Debbie even told me they messed up, but immediately blamed both myself and the specialist for not catching their mistake. My doc (Doctor Jaeger) was ok but Mountain View Medical Group is in the wrong century. I changed insurance carriers and the new carrier requires that my doctor fill out some form. I asked if I could e-mail the clinic the form in anticipation of my visit and they said: "We don't do e-mail!" Can you believe it! I don't want to deal with any doctor who isn't up on technology from the last 2-3 decades. The other thing I don't like is that they always make me wait. I'm always there on time but I always end up sitting around for 10-15 minutes waiting for the doctor to see me. Why is their time more important than mine? read more

One of the doctors in this practice exposed my daughter to pertussis (the deadly disease commonly known as whooping cough). The fact that she was practicing while ill (even if she didn't realize that it was pertussis at the time) is so unprofessional and she exposed many already ill children to a disease that can easily claim a young child's life.
