Do not return your vehicle to him for warranty repair, your vehicle will be stolen! When you confront him about the work that he did not do, he blocks your number. despite all of the bad reviews, and all the anxiety I had after driving from Albuquerque NM 6 hours to denver, I can HONESTLY say Jeff and his team did an AMAZING job with my grandpas transmission (68RFE for a Dodge) like I said. I was kinda having doubt but Jeff really impressed me with the time frame, quality and efficiency. drive back to install the transmission and it's perfect. read more

I inquired about rebuilding a transmission, he said $1000 and a 2 yr warranty. We drove to Johnstown from South Dakota. 3 weeks later we went back to pick it up. Upon installation the transmission worked for 2 hours then quit. Called and told him the transmission pump went bad. He said bring it back and I did. Called 2 weeks later for an update and he said he had family issues and couldn't get around to it. Called again another week later and he stated the same thing. Waited and called again, finally says that it was ready to go. After several attempts to contact him to pick it up he no longer answers. I do not have a lot of faith in in his work, work ethic or judgment. He does not provide info on work completed on transmission. He lacks communication skills and follows his own timeline. I do not recommend anyone bringing their transmission here. Stay local. read more

wish I would have seen these reviews earlier.. don't waste your time here, he strung me along for 4 days on a supposed one day transmission swap agreement we had. each day he kept telling me it was just one more part or two and done, well when i had enough I picked it (day 4 at 4pm) with a tow truck, the transmission, transfer case, drive shafts and a bag of bolts were in the bed of my truck. it's my work truck, I make my living with it and I don't understand why even agree to it if you never intended to honor the agreement! now a few days before thanksgiving I'm left to find a shop to figure this mess out for me. unreal.. read more

The cheapest transmissions are the most expensive transmissions. I bought my transmission from Jeff at Mountain View Transmission and Gear for $2,495.00 in an attempt to save myself a couple thousand dollars. I picked up a remanufactured transmission to install myself with the understanding that once it was installed that I would be responsible for getting the Transmission Control Module (TCM) programmed before driving it. I install the transmission, and have it towed to Best Western Transmission for the programming. They tell me that they are unable to communicate with the TCM to program it and they recommend replacement of the module. I reach out to Jeff to let him know what is going on, as my invoice states a 2 year warranty (transmission was picked up on May 6th 2024). Considering I had the truck at another shop I completely expected to have to pay for the labor and I assumed he would pay for the part if it was a genuine failure. My first communication with Jeff was on Nov. 23rd 2024 and seemed pretty legitimate. He seemed willing to help. Between then and Dec. 17th 2024 Jeff strung me along on a wild goose chase of getting information to get the warranty process going on the TCM. Every time I reached out there was some far fetched excuse as to why my part was delayed, or why he didnt get it on order. I heard everything from "my phone has been messing up for the last few days", "my shop got broken into so ive been dealing with that", "ive been dealing with a ton of deaths in my family", "the line at UPS was an hour and a half wait, ive got other stuff going too" etc. He seems to have an excuse for everything, true or not, he would use the excuse to gaslight you for asking what was going on and what the delay was. It got the the point where he said HE DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY to pay for the part and he told me to pay for it to get it on order and he would reimburse me (clearly that would not have been the case). Then telling me MULTIPLE TIMES that the new TCM was on the way, but THE PART NEVER SHOWED UP. At this point I had lost faith in Jeff and his business. I had ran out of time. I needed my truck back as I had been waiting on Jeff for nearly a month to ultimately do nothing. I authorized Best Western Transmission to carry out a proper diagnosis and they concluded Jeff had installed the WRONG TCM in my transmission. Once the correct part was installed, the transmission worked. ($1,176.55 later). I reach out to Jeff as I feel he should be responsible for the cost of the parts and the labor. His answer was essentially, tough luck. I will be taking him to small claims court. I hope everybody else that has had a similar experience with him takes similar action. Do not under any circumstances trust Jeff Jolliffe and never take your vehicle or transmission to him. He is an untrustworthy liar. We live 3 hours away and thought he was good at working on older dodge transmissions. We needed a transmission rebuilt. The first trip, he told us the transmission was rebuilt, but it wasn't and that he didn't have it done. Second trip we got said transmission, brought it home, and put it in. He did not correctly install the parking rod so the pickup rolled while in park. We fixed that ourselves. However, the transmission was still defective and the pickup would not go into overdrive. We had a local mechanic look at it and he said the transmission was no good. We hauled the pickup back up to Jeff because he said he would fix it. On two more separate occasions we made the 6 hour round trip to get the pickup after confirming with Jeff it was fixed, but it wasn't. After 4 months of lies and excuses, the pickup was supposed to be fixed, but it is exactly the way it was when we took it to him 4 months ago. I wish we had found the previous reviews under multiple different business names including Spartan Garage, Mountain View Transmission, and All American Transmission before this experience. We hope this may prevent this happening to someone else. read more
