Before you close your account with them after moving, remove all your payment information FIRST. Two years after I moved and closed my account, they withdrew $32 from my bank account randomly. When I called, they said it was a system error and they would send me a check to return the money. For some reason, despite being able to withdraw funds from my account, they said they were unable to deposit/directly return the funds. Give me a break. I called multiple times between December and March to ask where the check is, and each time they assured me it was in the mail. B.S. We made the mistake of leaving Mountain View and going with another local trash company because of others saying it was hard to reach them because they were bought by someone in another state. However, the OTHER trash company was absolutely awful and so unreliable, that we switched back to Mountain View. Mountain View is reliable and their staff is friendly and helpful! At the Guffey transfer station they charge $9/30 gallon trash bag. A trash service that picks up your trash is approximately $8/ week for a 96 gallon container. These guys charge triple what a trash service costs and the customer needs to deliver the trash and put it in a dumpster. Ridiculous pricing. read more

This company is so spotty. Maybe they'll pick up, maybe not. I have a problem at least 20% of the time. 4 out of 5 is great for free throw shooting but business reliability?? The latest: they've missed two consecutive recycle pickups and customer service can't do anything except offer me a free drop off if I cart the trash to their facility or make an overflow exception for me for the next pick up in two weeks. So now I'm to store 6 weeks of recycling, because mountain view isn't willing to resolve problems it creates. We have been using this company for more than 2 yrs. What I can tell you is just don't bother to call them because they can't be bothered to pick up your trash or recycling. Their customer service is terrible. If they have drivers out for whatever reason, they won't give a credit or make an effort to pick up the trash or recycling. I won't be renewing our contract again. If I could give this company a zero I would. They charged me up front for a year of service. AFTER they took my money they emailed me a "Welcome Letter" that basically said "Now that we have your money, we MIGHT come pick up your garbage, but then again we MIGHT NOT, depending on how we feel." They just fulfilled that crooked, underhanded promise, by NOT picking up my garbage on either Tuesday (as they contracted to do) or Wednesday (as they sometimes do when they've either got a holiday they can blame for the delay or their drivers were all too drunk or hung over to work that Tuesday). I called them today (Thursday) and they said "Oh we missed some folks on Tuesday so we came back out on Wednesday. Shuckees-darn we missed YOU on Wednesday as well so... well we just don't feel like coming out again so you'll have to wait until two weeks from now (when we might come out and miss you again) but hey! we'll "let" you put out more than your allotted bins and pick them up at no extra charge (gee thanks). Oh and that's not all! We won't charge you our regular fee for dropping off your garbage (that we were too crooked or lazy to pick up as we contracted to do) at our Transfer Station, (35 miles from your home) so why don't you just load up your little scooter and get it on out there for us." Oh and they'll give me a minimal credit on my bill... uh... that I pre-paid. What? They're gonna hand me some cash? Or (of course) apply the credit to service beyond this year, which I won't want because I'll never deal with such a crooked, lazy, dishonest company like this again!!! Don't let this happen to you. This company is not reliable in any way. Our recycling was not picked up, when we called, they said they wouldn't be out for another 2 weeks. So no recycling pickup for a month. We asked to be compensated and they said we only pay for garbage. They have no option to pay for recycling. Recycling is "free" service that they may or may not provide depending on the week. After speaking with a representative she confirmed that no mistake was made on their part. She said sometimes our recycling will be picked up and sometimes it won't and they will not notify us us ahead of time. read more

Use another company, as this one provides poor service and lacks responsive management. We cancelled service after tiring of picking up scattered recycling from when Mountain View failed to honor their recycling pick ups. After cancellation and explaining the reason why, the recycling person attempted to retaliate by preventing us from easily accessing the driveway and widely spaced the cans across the driveway. The cans had to be moved before you could proceed to the driveway. The pick up driver even went out of their way to move the full trash can to the middle of the driveway! This is on a very busy road, at a curve that has no shoulder, so this attempt at pettiness was dangerous for both the occupants and the local drivers. We communicated this issue to management, but they failed to respond. As this is a safety issue, management should take steps to keep their customers safe and keep their drivers professional. However, it seems that they do not care if you are harassed or even if you are put in harm's way by their employees' actions. While waiting for management to respond to the complaint (which they did not,) we were charged a late fee. To keep yourself safe and not constantly inconvenienced, another service provider is recommended. read more

Automatic payments internally disrupted & regularly charged late fees. This month the bill was raised, and the payment was cancelled because the amount was higher than the automatic payment ... ?!??? No supervisors, managers or other chain of command to escalate to when problems arise. Cost is substantially higher now than the competition. read more

We have been a customer for 12 years. They do an excellent good job picking up our trash. They are not picky on extra bags. The only minor complaint is communication in case of snow days. Some of the pics. I have seen on the site looks like bins that have been out overnight and not using trash bags for the trash. Wildlife gets into the trash and spread it all over. We live right on highway 285 , and the truck must go by at least once a day, but if the driver don't pick up the schedule day , I am being told to wait one week anyway to the next schedule day, this has been 2 weeks in a row , ( and an average of once a month no pick up) so I may have to find another garbage company in Bailey. I used to never have a problem with whoever picks up the trash in my area until recently. Dude just keeps getting lazier and lazier. Can't wheel the cans back from where he grabbed them. It's impossible to reach them when they miss picking up your trash. This has happened to us twice...and we've only had their service for 6 weeks! Each time I called the hold times were 35 minutes (first time) and 44 minutes the second call. This is a long time to wait to tell someone they forgot to pickup the trash. There are some areas where they are the only trash pickup company. I'm sure these monopolies are the only way they can stay in business. Been using them for 6 years without issue, now they don't pick up the trash always, hard when service is only every 2 weeks. 30-45 minute hold times to speak to someone now, it used to be 2-3 minutes. Recently now after 15 minutes I get sent to VM and they haven't replied in 4 days. Time to see if there's another service out there for my 2 properties. I have rented dumpsters (2) in the past and was very impressed with the drop off and pick-up drivers' skills. The people who answer the phones in the office are professional, knowledgeable, polite, and will bend over backwards to help. The drivers for the company have gone out of their way to help others. Not much more to say compared to nearly all of the other 1-star reviews. Those are all accurate. Recycles get picked up about 1 out of every 4 scheduled weeks, and trash is randomly skipped too. Being in bear country, it is not good to leave the bins out for any extra time than necessary because the bears WILL find and tip the bins within a day or two, leaving trash strewn all over the surrounding area. You will soon be on a first-name basis with the office staff because you will be calling regularly to complain about the bins not being emptied on any given week. Be prepared to answer the standard plethora of questions EVERY time you call - "what time did you put out your bins", "was it in plain sight for the driver", "was there anything heavy in the bins", "was there extra trash on or around the bins", etc. etc. The standard interrogation always makes you feel like you are at fault and you are the reason they didn't do their job even when everything was 100% to their rules. Usually it becomes an argument of your word vs. their driver's word. If the driver reported that your trash wasn't out (even though it was) you have no recourse but to accept the blame. They make you feel like you should be very privileged for being one of their customers - never any real apology or explanation for the unacceptably shoddy service. One of the worst companies to work with EVER. I've started taking time- and geocoordinate-stamped photos of the bins at the bottom of our driveway every Tuesday to have evidence that the bins are always out ahead of time and to show that everything was exactly as they request. But when I mention these photos and ask to send them, I am told that those wouldn't matter. By the way, when you try to call them the next day after they've skipped your scheduled trash or recycle pick-up, their phone line is jammed and inaccessible most of that day. This is a strong indicator that everyone else who was skipped the previous day is also trying to call to complain. If you do manage to get someone on the other end of the line, they might try to convince you that yours is an isolated case, but clearly it is not. read more

Haven't picked up my recycles in 5 weeks. Trash left on road after pick up all the time. Tried to call them multiple times but was on hold for hours with no one answering. Just switched to Shirley septic and waste management. So far so good! Press option 3 at 303-838-0560 to NOT talk to a representative and be on hold eternally! I sent them an email requesting to discontinue their trash services with no response back from them either. Took a screen shot of email for evidence of the request so that when they try to bill me I have evidence that I was not using them any longer. read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My husband had called ahead an hour before to ask about dropping off recycling in Fairplay. As soon as we arrived, two guys came out, shouting at us, immediately taking down our plates and saying they were calling the sheriff because we were trespassing. Google said they were open, and we had just talked to the main office about dropping off recycling in Fairplay (we were from out of state and didn't want to throw it all away). The woman we spoke to didn't indicate the place was closed. The gate was unlocked, and there was certainly no closed sign. We were shocked but immediately said we'd leave. The two men kept yelling at us and insulting us, asking if we broke into grocery stores and saying we were part of the problem (gesturing to their disorganized recycling bins, although we had dropped off nothing). They were unmasked and not remotely trying to distance; there was a mask requirement at the time. We weren't putting up the least bit of a fight or threatening them... we were mostly incredulous at their response. They followed us to the gate, and when my 70-y-old mother got out to open it, one of the unmasked men jumped out of his car and got in her face again to explain how wrong we were. Hey MVW: Try "Sorry, we're closed!" next time, and update your hours online. I was shaking for hours afterward. Anyway, my husband and I were visiting the area to look for property. Being outside their zone (i.e., having alternative recycling options) became a legitimate focus of our search. We saved up our remaining recycling to drop off in Chaffee County and never heard from the sheriff. My mom and husband (both attorneys) were half looking forward to a call. read more

They did not pick up the bags on the ground. They emptied the trash from the containers. One container only had a small box in it. They said I was only listed as one container. I have 2, both of the containers have their name on it. Been that way for 15 years. The girl on the phone said they have automatic trash arms to dump the bins. After 1 hour on hold and all I get is excuses. The girl on the phone said she worked for this company for 17 years. She asked if I wanted to cancel the service? They sometimes don't pick up on their schedules days. When you call them to let them know, they'll say that they will come out, but don't. This has happened multiple days in a row. This company has become worthless. I discontinued service with them in January 2020. They were to retrieve their container and issue a refund at that time. Those task never happened. They do not answer their customer service phone. They have now sent my account to collections. I retained a layer this morning and will be suing if they do not correct their actions. If you are a customer, please cancel service with this company immediately. There are better options in Park county. You must cancel by certified mail. DO NOT attempt any other method as they are actively defrauding their customers. It is time to bankrupt Mountain view waste. read more
