I've had service with Mountain View off and on for 25 years. Depending on where you lived 25 years ago you didn't have a choice. I have had multiple problems with the recycle pick up for the last year. We live in Bear country....recycle or raw trash bears love to go through it. MV offers bear proof garbage cans for an extra charge but not recycle bear proof cans. I have been left with my recycle multiple times. I lost a dog to a bear attack in my yard. I have complained to MV only to find out that the CS girl I spoke with says that I should have done this and should have done that. Lol....I ALWAYS break down my boxes and condense them...I also contain them together. Point being.....I tried and I tried to be a good recycler. No more. I don't need to have my collapsed bundled recycling left at my house for a month or more. It all goes in the trash now! read more

They show up half of the time. At least they are answering the phone now and are giving credits for days that are missed which is an improvement. In the past the just made you pay even though no service was provided. Somehow the always seem to miss picking up right after I pay their bill. In general, for day to day residential they have been 'ok', and I really can't complain. HOWEVER, if you EVER have a special pick-up... They screw it up! Twice now we've had to call them to ask them to do a pickup AFTER we have pre-paid for a bulk item. Unbelievably bad service. Missed pickups are frequent. Several months ago after a streak of missed pickups i was able to reach them by phone. But now I've sat on hold for hours - no answer. Filled out customer service forms - no response after a week plus. At this point I want to switch to another company but I'm not even sure how to get in touch with MVW to cancel. 1 star is way over rated for this company. My trash again was not taken. When they do take it all I do is clean up left over trash look, for my bungee cords that I have my recycling cans tied down with. Usually find them in the field next to my drive way or in middle of the road. Today was the last chance they didn't take it again yesterday and then tell me they will give me a complimentary dump at there transfer station in pine jct. Worst service I've ever had. I switched to E-Bill and automatic pay in January of 21. Without notifying me they changed the website for payment processing. 3 months went by and they again didn't notify me that the payment was delinquent they just took my trash cans. When I called them and paid they did not restore service. It's been 2 and 1/2 months and they still not return my cans that I purchased from them as well as they are trying to charge me for the 2 1/2 months that they did not provide services. read more

Is it possible to give less than 1 star? I guess since they answered the phone when I called they earned at least one star. Service= minus 30 stars. Attitude=minus 50 stars. For three months they didn't pick up leaf bags. Called many times. First time I was told our container needed to be out. Still no pick up. Then I was told that it didn't need to be out. Still not picked up. Then we switched to every other week service. Still no bags picked up and when I called I was told the driver did me a favor by picking up our trash during our off week. And guess what? Still didn't pick up the bags. Service cancelled and I will tell EVERBODY I know about this horrible service. Total incompetence and rip off when you cancel the service. Called and had a bin pick up date of 6/18. No one showed. Called 6/20 and as of 6/24 still no pick up. Third call. No more - will keep their bins. Ask for a refund of days not picked up and told have to give 30 day notice. No contract so how would one know? Very devious business practices and total incompetence when you are done with their "service". Never again! They used to be a good company with great customer service. Not so much anymore. I have had 2 cans for 5 or more years, they even gave me a sticker with their name for my second can. A couple months ago the driver didn't pick up my 2nd can and when I called I was told I can no longer use my second one without paying more but I can put out 5 extra bags. I mentioned that that was harder for the driver because they can pick up my can with the truck now the driver has to get out and grab the bags. The employee told me I understand it doesn't make sense to me either but that's the company policy. So today I put out 4 bags they're not real big they were not real heavy. The driver picked up two of them and didn't even touch the other two and left. I called and was told that they don't know why the driver didn't get them maybe they were too heavy even after I told her multiple times that he didn't even touch them and was told I'll have to wait till next week to get them picked up. So I had to haul them back down my driveway and have to bring them back out next week when the driver coulda just grabbed them when he grabbed the other two like he was supposed to. read more

DO NOT USE. They skipped our trash pick up 3 weeks in a row with me calling every week to see what the issue was. Every time it was the new drivers fault. They sent someone out to pick it up the last time and was told that the rout manager would be giving me a call. Never called. Switching to PMB, they have front door service and pick up recycling EVERY week as apposed to bi monthly. read more

driver does not show up at 7am on fridays so i go out to bring the cart back in and its still full. I Call them that the driver did not show up. They say they will text him to come back. He never does. So monday i call again and say the driver never came back. they say they will have someone come back. Monday about 2pm they come back. This is the 3rd time this has happend in two months. I am a disabled senior in my 70s and have a very hard time dragging the heavy carts back in the garage for the weekend and back out on monday. I think i will go to the 65 gallon cart. Its cheaper and if the driver does not show up it wont be as hard for me to drag to back in to the garage. read more

We recently switched to Mountain View for our regular trash and recycle pick up. The drivers are always courteous and never leave anything behind. We have also used them for dumpsters and those drivers, too, are amazing and can park the dumpsters in tight spots. Thank you! Now, you should have more stars like you deserve! read more

We have been with Mountain View for less than 6 months and they have missed picking up my trash 3 times. This is very frustrating!! Basically, this trash service is literally and figuratively TRASH. If you like to pay for trash service and expect the trash to come at the scheduled times, this is NOT the company for you. If you do not like having an extra and unpaid job to tell some company to do their JOB each time, this is NOT the company for you. They do not come on any consistent regular basis. You will most definitely have to call them each time they should pick up trash to ask why they DID NOT pick up trash. Then they will offer a credit and offer to pick it up the next cycle of pickup...not the next day because of their mistake. However, they won't give you credit until you call AGAIN to ask why they did not give you credit. Then when you CANCEL the service, they will not pick up their cans and will ATTEMPT to charge you for services that never occurred. Pretty fraudulent practices of a company that obviously thinks they are the only show in town. Please contact the Attorney General regarding these practices and find another option. Seriously, do not waste your time. LIVE your life and find a company that provides a service when you pay for a service. read more

Ive only been a customer for about 9 weeks and in that time they have missed 3 pickups, the first time I didn't call them well, because sh*t happens to us all. Since then they have missed 2 pickups in a row. I spoke to 2 reps (heather and ?) and was told I didn't have my trash out early enough (it was out at 8am) I watched the mountain waste truck blast through the subdivision and drive by my street without stopping so I don't think the issue was my timing. I put my trash out on the next pickup date at 6:45 and again it wasn't picked up, I called again and she said she would have him come back....alas, it didn't happen. I left it out overnite on the off chance they would show up this morning...didn't happen. Life is too short, the job too simple to deal with this. All I expected is for them to show up and pick up my trash. Apparently my expectations were too high. read more

Mountain View Waste has been great. I use their residential service and they have never missed a pickup. Customer service has been prompt, reliable and courteous. I have also used their roll off dumpsters and they have been on time and when I need it picked up, they usually do it the next day. Best prices in town. I do not understand the people who make complaints about missed pickups. They clearly explain the pick up process online. If there is a holiday, they will pickup the following day of your normal pickup. If people are complaining about pickup, then they must have not got their cans out to the road in a timely manner. Every time my trash is at the road, they have always picked it up. Great job, keep up the good work. read more

You deserve no stars!!! Your service is deplorable!!! We took out service in January of this year, and I think you have picked up our trash maybe 6 times without me calling and gritching at you. You have got more excuses why you didn't pick it up, got stuck, broke down, new driver....and the excuses just keep rolling!!! If your trucks are always "broke down", maybe you need a new mechanic!! We have also followed one of your semi's down 285 and we were doing 75 mph and couldn't catch up to him to get a truck number, really on the heels of that terrible crash on 1-70 a few weeks ago, that was caused by a semi going to fast?? When I call and Miranda answers, she is so curt and snotty. Maybe she needs some customer service training and not take it so personal!!! I have had their service for about 9 years. We have had a few missed pick ups, but they always corrected it in the following day/s, depending on different situations. The drivers have been very courteous to us. Always provide good service and sometime they even go above the job requirement. If the winds or animals have knocked my cans over they try to pick up as much as they can. And in some of the worst conditions with weather and winds, they have been out at least trying to provide the service. I have to say this is better than the competitors who won't even try til the following week. The encounters that I have had with the ladies that answer the phones, has been pleasant. They are very patient with my concerns and questions. I have to say that every company has problematic situations, but this company at least always tries to fix the problem and offer great service. With all the different locations that I have moved to and from, they have been very consistent. I really love this company! read more

On recycling mondays you can find recycling litter all over the community. If I were in charge there would be no recycling in my community, Woodside. The sight of this litter is enough to cancel the program. Could the drivers close the bin's doors after each pickup? No, they don't. We don't live in the city. We appreciate our "pristine" area. Don't treat our mountain community like an intercity slum. Have some local pride. read more
