My mother has been a patient of Synergy for well over a year now, struggling with complex, painful,…read moreand frustrating medical issues. When my knee pain escalated in 2022, she nagged me (as all good moms do) to get it checked out. So I made an appointment with an Ortho, and also with Synergy to get a full assessment. It turned out that I had a full ACL tear from a football injury seven years prior (hey, don't look at me that way, I thought knee pain was normal as you aged). Vincent and Kaley walked me through my options, sharing surgical and non-surgical approaches, and what life would look like on the other side of either choice. Ultimately, I decided to have reconstruction, as I'm fairly young and like to be quite active, and the chance to possibly avoid full knee replacement was appealing. To prep for surgery, I spent 4-5 months doing pre-hab to get as strong as possible, setting myself up for success. Pre-hab was often grueling, especially on top of my regular workout schedule, but I knew my best chance would require me dig deep and work hard. My surgeon, who speaks highly of SPT, was really impressed with my strength going into surgery, and confident that the work I put in would set me up nicely on my path to recovery. As I write this, I'm 7 weeks post-op, and things are moving along nicely. What made me trust everyone at SPT was the no B.S. approach. They don't ice your leg, or baby you through little stretches you should be doing at home. They hone in on the muscles and areas that are weak, and help you dive in and dig deep to improve. The key to success at SPT is homework - you HAVE to take responsibility for your recovery 24/7 - it's YOUR body and you have to live in it. Two or three 60-90 minute PT sessions a week will NOT get you to where you need to be, you have to be willing to do your stretches and exercises every day. I work out 3-4 days a week, separate from PT because I KNOW that's my best chance at a healthy knee. When an area is tight/painful, I share it and they help me by any means necessary to work through and alleviate the pain. If you stay in tune with your aches/pains/tight areas, then communicate that clearly, and stay consistent with the work, you're not going to fail. Sometimes, I'm convinced the team at SPT wants patients to succeed more than the patient themselves. They can guide and teach, but you have to do the work. There are no shortcuts. Bottom line - their approach is unconventional. They don't treat you like a child and babysit you, but if you have questions/concerns they ALWAYS address them kindly and fully. Pain is part of injury, and part of healing, but on the other side of that pain is a better you. If you advocate for yourself, and work hard at PT and AT HOME, you can't find a better partner on that journey than everyone at SPT. I'll never trust any other PT spot in The Valley - I'm Synergy Strong for Life.

Definitely feel like a jerk for not adding this sooner but life got crayola there for a moment. Truly grateful for all of the excellent practitioners here. They are hands on and committed to your healing journey. Hopefully I won't have to come in again but being active at 42, I am sure I'll see them again soon. 11/10. Thank you all again. Apologies for the delayed response.

Dr. Padilla, I was very honest with the treatment I needed and the hard work I need to put in. They explained to you or the bodies connected to each other and even though you think one area is your problem in reality it's a different part of your body or muscle that needs to improve to help that wounded area.
