Should have asked for an estimate first. My John Deere rider had some twine & wire tangled up the blades, took the mower to these people and the guy untangled the twine & wire and blew it out. Spent about 15-20 minutes on it. Lady says $100 bucks flat for labor. I made a comment that was pretty expensive, she says where else are you gonna get same day service and this was a labor charge. That means her mechanic gets over $300 an hour labor?? RIDICULOUS! I should have waited a day and took it to Tommy's Mower repair who I usually use but they are closed on Mondays. This "mom & pop" store is the best in town. They ask for a lower deposit when dropping off your equipment for repair than anyone else I could find. Their turn around time was a third of everyone else's. They communicated through the whole process. I highly recommend them! They repaired my pressure washer perfectly. Event though the staff seems a little strange they are always helpful in answering any questions and sincere in helping the customer out. I took my mower in on Labor day weekend to get the fuel line unclogged because it would not start. I was quoted $60 + parts. Without calling me they replaced the Blade, air filter, spark plug and when I went to pick it up may bill was $150. I mowed my yard once and put the mower in the Garage. 5 weeks later I take the mower out to mow again and it won't start. Take it back to mower medics, they try to charge me $65, but I talked them down to $25. Take it home mow the yard one time and put the mower in the garage. This morning take it out to mow again for the 2cd time since it was fixed and again the mower won't start. I have now paid these people $175 to mow my yard 2 times and still have a mower that won't start. Not a happy customer at all. read more

For the longest time I was using the bigger guys with the big store front right down the street. Everything I hated about them is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT at Mower Medics. Over there they hardly ever answered the phone, here they always do. Over there you were made to feel like your business wasn't appreciated and you weren't even good enough to be considered just a number. Here you get polite personal service and they make you feel like you actualy count as a human being and customer. (Mower Medics actually have a pleaseant sense of humor and know how to smile and laugh.) Over there you are waited on people with attitudes and egos who are NEVER in a rush and NEVER respect your time (or lack there of). Mower Medics is a 180 degree complete opposite experience. You almost want something to break just so you can go back there and be treated by some happy, smiling, respectful faces. Over there it might take two weeks for them JUST to look at what you brought in, while they're somewhat selective on what they'll work on. The technician here is all knowing, works on anything and everything and in the two weeks it takes the big guys down the street to look at something, he's already called me, got my approval, ordered the parts, got it fixed and called me to come pick it up. Mower Medic is fantastic, seven and a half stars out of five on a scale from one to five. I only wish they were up in Lutz so I could get the same great service and travel less to get it. But they're safe to keep my business because they know how to fix things right the first time and treat me like I'm a respected human and not a piece of dog meat like the big people a couple of blocks down the street. read more

I'm going to give them one more try, even tho I brought my chainsaw in to them that was running just wouldn't idle. And when I go pick it up they tell me the piston was bad and have it all apart. Instead of just cleaning the carb like I ask they tear the motor down and tell me it's not fixable. I would have kept using it like it was if I would have known they were going to do that. Do not trust these people with your equipment. I took them my pressure washer to have it repaired. Paula called me a few days later and explained to me that my pressure was shot and could not be repaired. She asked me if I would like to come pick it up or else they were going to scrap it. I told her I would be by to get it. She then tells me that if I wanted to pick it up I would have to pay a $25 assessment fee. I asked her if there was anything they could do to fix it and she replied no. So I told her to go ahead and scrap it. A week later it was fixed and sitting outside their shop for sale. I confronted them and asked why they told me it was irreparable and now it's fixed and for sale for $150. Her reply was " you couldn't have afforded to fix it". The police told me there was nothing they could do because I relinquished it to them. I can't begin to tell you how much I felt suckered. Despite their rude customer service I have used them for 5 years now and I never in a million years thought they would treat me like this. read more

I highly recommend this repair shop. They also sell new equipment. They were recommended to me by the repair shop I usually use, who told me it would cost too much for them to fix my chainsaw. The primer bulb was broken and the pull start would not retract. This is a small husband-wife business. They were very courteous, knowledgeable, and I was amazed when they called the next day to say it was done. They explained all they did to address my repairs, and they also adjusted the chain, cleaned the carb, and reattached the protective tip which was missing a screw. They even showed me a safety feature I was not aware of, and was not mentioned in the manual. The price was half what the other place was going to charge just to look at it. I couldn't be more pleased. They service mowers, generators and all lawn equipment, and sharpen mower blades and tools. The owners and other employee I met were courteous, funny, and a pleasure to deal with. I will be back. read more
