They have managed to survive against the big guys by exceedingly expert service. If you just need one item, they are just considerate. Don't be fooled by the size. There is just about everything you may need and want from a hardware store (AND MORE). Imagine being greeted when you walk in. Imagine someone assisting you and not distracted doing five other things. Imagine them assisting you to the register. That is what I call personalized service and this is why I have been there three times in two weeks. The store is clean and very organized. Every square foot is utilized to fit as much product. I am blown away by the amazing customer service I received today when we had a grill delivered and installed. In an effort to support local business, we bought a new gas grill from Ace Hardware rather than Amazon. They kept us informed the entire time about the delivery options and came out today (on a Sunday morning) to install the grill and make sure if worked properly. The owner and his son were out, were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and went above and beyond. Highly recommend! read more

Ace corporation does NOT deliver what there customers PAY for. Shop elsewhere. I ordered 2 accent zero gravity chairs along with some other equipment. Well as I noted in a previous review the delivery was terrible. Late, many mistakes, did the opposite of what customer wanted, abusive crew. well they finally dropped the items and intentionally left out in the rain. Boxes/bags soaked. This is the ace hardware on 301 S Wimauma(Tim alex and john). Although it reflects poorly on all ace corporations. After the botched delivery on sat (which would have went smoothly if the did what they said and if they listened to their client. They failed to bring 1 of the accent chairs. (Intentionally I presume, but even if an accident is still a huge mistake). Which they admit to. They attempted to re-deliver the missing chair the following sun. The driver Andi pretended to deliver the package and never did. That's a $50 chair. He texted me claiming the delivery, yet when I checked. It was not there. Do NOT do business with ACE corporation. Do not tolerate and report all abuse and fraud immediately. Fight the good fight. Resist the devil. read more

Great neighborhood hardware store - not many like this left. Park right at the front door and walk in. You can be in and out quicker than it takes to find a parking spot in a big box equivalent. It is not large, but they always have what you need, from a $0.08 screw to a $1,000 bbq grill. Friendly service. They tell you what you need to buy for fixing or repair when you have something broken but don't know what to do or where to start. Also have complete pool supply and service. read more

This is a gem of a store! Went here to figure out how to fix old glass doorknobs for my house as I prefer not to increase waste by just replacing and also enjoy keeping the original feel to the house. Once I arrived I was able to see that they have tons of hardware, parts, replacements for everyone (old and new places) and pool supplies. They also have key making services for many types of keys. In addition to what they have the draw to this place is the service they provide. When I walked in they were actually out of the part I needed to replace (truck was coming in in ~1 day), but instead they actually evaluated the price I had and were able to identify that I only needed to replace the screws instead of the whole spindle & screws. They then spent the time to look through and find the part as it was not labeled as the door knob is from the 1940s. While yes, the prices here might be a little (very little) higher that a big box place, it is worth finding a spot that really provides customer service and also works to restore/fix items instead of just replacing. This will be my new spot. read more

Times change and this store has been bought and "updated" to a more modern Ace hardware location. The shop upstairs is gone, as are many of the individual fittings and specialty items for which old time hardware stores were known. I now find the prices on the higher end. A flyer at the register had a 20% OFF coupon---and I asked the salesman to apply the coupon for my purchase......when the manager walked by and said "NO, that coupon expired last week!" (Well, why the hell is it sitting next to your checkout, "Manager"?) The old store had specialty tools you could borrow, rather than purchase for those rare-one-time-uses (valve puller; tap & die set).....I'll bet that's not available any more. read more

Ace Hardware was the perfect solution for South Tampa. A hardware store with a Mom and Pop feel and as always with Ace a great selection of products. Ace hardware is famous for letting the communities needs help tailor the stores products. One of those great independent hardware stores that used to dot the landscape when I was a kid... sadly, most were killed by the big boxes. Service! Help! Suggestions! Awesome. Prices? Well, they tend to trend a tad higher than the big boxes, but I know that going in, and I'm happy to pay a bit more to have someone wait on me. PS: I still miss Bert's Hardware and Tampa Bay Hardware (which sadly burned a few years ago). We gotta keep these places alive else the big boxes rule all. read more

Great place. Always helpful. Last year my husband passed away and I really don't know how to do some things. These people always are there to either fix it for me or step-by-step show me how to do it myself from fixing a leaky faucet to putting a new vacuum cord or rewiring a lamp for me.
