Because of his knowledge and professional manner he actually saved me a couple of hundred dollars that I would not have known on my own . This is a straight out insurance scam. I purchased the warranty package, our washing machine went…read moreout. We were without one for three weeks. Finally got it rebuilt. Then the refrigerator went out, Waited a week for them to send a repairman, they called and said he needed to order parts, finally came out, said he needed to order a different part, waited two weeks, wrong part, then they couldn't find a CERTIFIED SEALED UNIT tech. They then said they couldn't repair. They offered us $300, I complained and they offered $200 more. No new frig as their add on TV says. I then ask about spoilage, policy says they will pay up to $250, they claim I am not entitled, but the salesman I bought the insurance had said it would be. I am so disgusted by this company. They prey on people, who believe what they see on their TV add, which misrepresents their intentions. To further clarify, I upgraded my coverage and was told by the agent that the newer coverage would be backdated because I was paying the additional charges to date that day. I feel their staff is trying to rip off customers. I am a senior citizen and feel they betrayed my trust. SHAME ON AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY. LITERALLY, GET A DIFFERENT STORY OR EXCUSE EVERY TIME I CALL THEM.

This is after paying the trip charge. They have LIMIT on how much they will disburse on a repair, so it never really covers your appliance replacement or repair. You are left with almost the full amount. it does NOT matter how old or new your appliance is. My experience with them was quite difficult because I paid most of the repair charges. Why bother having such warranty in the first place? when tried to cancel my warranty, they stated that they had overpaid me for my service and will NOT refund my remaining membership balance. Further to this, when I did got insurance they would not help me to reduce my rate and instead boldly lied to me to sway me against requesting a reduction to my rate. In effect, they want more money from your services and if you find cheaper, they will lie to you. I never had such a bad encounter in my life with any brokers. After my experience, I would say they are not nice, not interested in client retention and are unscrupulous in their practices. I am going to file a complaint against them and I would strongly encourage anybody especially foreigners or out of towners, to look them up on BBB before doing business with them.
