I have been taking my fur baby Bella there for a couple of years. Everyone is friendly and they treat Bella well. The vet technicians and Dr are always caring. My family and I have have been patients of Dr. Pinney since he opened his office on DeZavala several years ago. This means that he has gained no fewer than 14 animal patients and owners who have been loyal, have never missed an appointment, and have referred countless families. I understand why my six year old cat needs lab work prior to having a dental, and Brian scheduled that for today. I don't have a problem with that being $100 for the labs plus whatever for the tech visit. BUT....I need to have the dental appointment on the 12th of February since that is when I will have help with the cat. I am told that I cannot schedule for the 12th until the lab work is back and normal. They can't possibly schedule ahead and have it be cancelled if there is a problem. Moreover, they insist that I pay a $300 deposit when making the appointment to ensure that I will actually show up for the appointment. WTH?????? So today they want $400 to pay for the labs ($100) which probably cost $25 and then $300 to buy the privilege of making an appointment in a month for a dental that will also cost an arm and a leg. Sorry, This was a free cat and I am not seeking open heart surgery on a child. I love Dr. Pinney and Brian and Shelly (I have never liked the office manager but that is beside the point) but they are not Michael Debakey. read more

The vet and tech were caring and kind. They listened to my concerns and were gentle with my old pup. They seemed to really care for her comfort and getting her help. Unfortunately we weren't able to do an x-ray that day due to her needing anesthesia and that not being in my budget, but they did prescribe pain and inflammation medicine for her. Started taking my senior boxer to their main clinic due to his age, health, and condition. The staff has been nothing but patient and caring with my anxious somewhat aggressive senior. Dr. Pinney was informative of my dog's condition and supportive. Jennifer was of great support and caring when it came the time to make a decision for my senior. It was the most difficult choice I recently had to make and Jenn was always answering all of my doubts & questions with patience and a caring approach. As a responsible pet owner I knew I needed to take my rescues GG ( 9yo doxie) and Kai 9 (13 yo chi-weenie) for updated medical vaccinations. I was reminded that MPC existed and I visited them on Sat 08/19. Well run get together and I was extremely pleased with the results. Little Kai had for several years been dealing with serious allergies to where he would be a little bloody mess of a furball. I had gone to another Vet who administered a shot at $60. and a little over a week later he was back to where he started. They administered another $60. shot but that failed as well. $120. in 2 weeks and failed OTC allergy meds (which I could have literally poisoned him with incorrect dosages) and oatmeal baths. I thought we would have to live with his condition. 1 consult is all it took for the Vet to recommend Apoquel. His physical reaction is ALMOST immediate. Today is Sunday the day after his visit and he is doing REMARKABLY well. It was VERY comforting to experience their approach to affordable pet maintenance. read more

However I cannot say enough about them! They are simply fantastic, personable, friendly, and attentive! They were able to help me get my kitten well as she had a infection on her bum , and I was super worried! But right then and there I was able to get medicine for her & the price?!? You can't beat! I have been taking my pets and my fosters here for years. I trust Dr. Pinney and his staff completely. I know that Dr. Pinney is going to diagnose my pets properly and he doesn't recommend things that aren't really needed. He is sensitive to your budget which really helps me as I usually pay for my foster's vet care also as a donation to their rescue. Some of my fosters are very fearful and under socialized and they will even come out to my car to care for them if needed. Eternally grateful for the service they provide to me and to this city! My family and I have 2 dogs, a cocker spaniel named Rocky and a miniature dachshund named Baxter. We love our dogs dearly, but we have been behind on their healthcare because our current vet, Northern Oaks Bird & Animal Hospital, has exorbitant prices. I came across their website last night and I could not believe the prices for vaccines. What would normally cost me $300 in annual vaccines would cost a 1/3 of the price at MPC. Needless to say, I took my dogs there to the Locke Hill Pet Supply location today and despite the long line of pet owners and their pets, I was seen in about 20-30 minutes. They got all my information, weighed my dogs, and proceeded to collect the vaccines before administering them to my dogs. I'm very happy with the care and service I received from my vet tech Robert and Dr. Pinney. It is very obvious that they are doing this for the benefit of pets and their owners vs. for money. I heard a nightmare story while I was there that a lady needed emergency care for her dog, but the animal hospital wouldn't even see her dog unless she coughed up $500. Luckily, she brought her dog here to MPC and they examined her pet without a crazy down payment. I'm not a by any means a frugal person or a penny pincher, but I am tired of getting taken advantage of at overpriced vet clinics. I am very happy with my experience at MPC, and despite the 25 minute drive, I will go back again. Thank you for putting pets vs. profit first. read more

So a year today I relocated to SA and I am still exploring the city. This trip was for my dogs. Looking for affordable, friendly, and convenient vet services... this place is it! First visit and it will not be my last. This is a mobile service and today they were in the feed and seed off Huebener. I arrived about 45 minutes after they opened and the line was crazy long. Lots of pets and owners waiting patiently. You sign in on a clip board and find a comfy spot to wait. I watxhef the staff floay around patiently jelping pets and their owners. After about a 45 minute wait I was seen by a very friendly and outgoing vet tech. Rudy was very personable and caring to my two CKCS' s. He explained everything to me about how the practice worked and made sure i understood the fees. I was there for just rabies shot and anal gland. he was able to answer my questions about all my concerns and advise me on any other shots they may have needed. He even knew some of the common health issues with this breed and wanted to make sure I was fully informed. I never felt pressured to buy anything or do any unnecessary procedures. I felt very at ease and so did my two dogs. Even though it was extremely busy, he treated us like we were the only patients for the day. The entire staff really made us feel comfortable and you could tell they were all animal lovers and happy to be there. The price was amazing $15 for rabies shot for each pet abd $19 for anal gland. Less than $50 for our visit today. Compare that to other vet office's who want about $60 for just one dog office visit. I will be back in January for shot updates and looking forward to the visit. I took my cat in for his annual vaccines. I did a walk-in less than an hour before closing and still only had to wait maybe 5 mins before being seen. MPC is very affordable and they have excellent customer service. The vet and techs took ample with my cat and I and answered all of my questions. It is clear they truly care about their customer's and their pets. They didn't try to up-sell anything and were practical about what vaccines and services my cat really needed and which were expensive and fairly unnecessary at this time. As many times as we have been there, we have never had a bad experience. During certain times of the day they can be busy, but they always have a lot of staff, so the wait is not that long. I was very impressed with this clinic! Although it is first come first serve they are very quick and efficient! I felt like the vet here paid more attention to our dogs symptoms and needs than a vet we previously visited in the area. Maybe he is just more experienced, but our dog suffered for a whole month because of another vet and I wish I had found this place the first time she got sick!! Plus this is a very affordable option. Few things grind my gears as much as a condescending, snarky, narcissistic physician. However, Dr Pinney and his entourage are exactly what I need out of a doctor. Hardworking, humble, compassionate, and to the point. We've been taking the dogs here since early 2012, shortly after moving to TX, and we've been coming back since. The waits can be long, but I've never been bothered by that because every single time everyone in the staff are working working working, not chatting it up at the water cooler like at some office vets. I love that efficiency. I recently had to bring in a dog for a biopsy and instead of being made to feel like an incompetent moron, i was treated with dignity and respect, invited to look into the microscope myself. While Dr Pinney didn't know, apparently, that I'm trained in histology/cytology, he explained what i should see and what it meant and he was (as you'd expect) spot on. His ability to communicate effectively in layman's terms is top notch and not at all condescending. But it's the manner in which i was treated that again reinforced why i set aside time to sit on a hay bale and wait to see him or a staff member. I really can't thank all of those people enough for always being so kind, thorough, to the point, and doing their job quickly, even when it is chaotically busy and I'd be overwhelmed! Kudos x 100000000...! Oh, and if all you need is meds refilled, they put you to the head of the line. For flea and heartworm meds at the rate they sell them, that's an awesome benefit! read more

Although the location is mobile, the service is far from. I have taken both my dogs there, once since I adopted it and one for the last 4 years, we are there 2-3 times a year for bordatella, Heartworm meds, and annual visits. The vet and staff recognize me and my dogs, and ask about anything we discussed last time. In addition to great service and smiling faces they also offer more than just rabies shots. I have my thin skinned Italian Greyhound checked for Heartworm every year, and they have helped prescribe nausea medicine for my adopted dog that would get car sick. For routine care I don't know why you would go anywhere else! They are professional, personable, and price conscious!!! read more

I have three dogs and go to the Huebner Lockhill Feed location. All of the staff seem to really care about our dogs and you can tell they love animals and love what they do. I took my doxy to Dr Pinney yesterday with the usual wait, sitting on a bale of hay. Schnitzel has reoccurring skin allergies that are NOW under control because of Dr Pinney's advice/care. The constant steroid shots by my other vet were not working. We have brought our dogs here for their annual shots, saving greatly but now will continue to bring them for the check ups as they are much more reasonable. Yesterday's visit was a follow up & medication refill & they graciously waived the exam fee, which I didn't mind paying since it is only $19, 1/3 the price of our other vet.
