It's been now 3 months without any form of communication from this business. They went ghost silent. I've since disputed the charge against my credit card and am having to figure something else out. They do not answer questions regarding the project and whomever this John guy is, won't answer phone calls or texts. The secretary just mumbles nothing she can do.

Regardless, Ron L.'s professional approach at this stage led me to select them for the job, and I did. They sent an email on Thursday that read, "Great news, we'll be on your job tomorrow." Okay...that works. And then a crew showed up completely unannounced at my home that evening at 6:30 because they were there to measure the job. Umm...didn't the "office" send you the specs? No...that's why we're here. Okay, strike one, and I sent a message to Ron and another company representative, and crickets.... The crew came back on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to do the job. It's a good thing I didn't intend to use my backyard space for what should have been a one-day event (according to Ron L. and every other screening company I spoke with). And then the crew left on Sunday. No notice, no final report, no review with the customer...just drove off. Then I checked out the work and found that they ran the screening from one side of the lanai to the other. Had Ron L. bothered with any quality checks, that may not have happened. But they didn't, so now I had to address it, and I did. The crew made excuses and said that's how they did "rescreens." The same crew came back out the next weekend, fixed the problem that I (not the company) found, and again...drove off with zero notification. Then, 2 weeks later, I received the final invoice. So, of course, I asked the question again. How do I know the work was done to any kind of standard? So far, I have had to address every issue with the company and its crew. Here I go again, and I contacted the company. Only then did someone who said they were the project manager reach out to me directly (first time) to address my concerns. It's at this point that I told the individual (I'll leave your name out of it, but you know who you are) that I was disappointed in the company's ability to communicate to me what was going on. Of course, I again addressed the crew's attempt to shortcut the job, and the response I got was "they're lazy." So here we have a project manager (who doesn't know what it means to manage a project) who is diming out their work crews. They're only lazy because you are an ineffective manager. They offered an apology and only then said they would come out to review the crew's work and thus do their JOB. I offered my comments as constructive feedback and asked if they were willing to offer any additional concessions (other than an apology and acknowledgement that they need to do better). The response I got was that the work was done. Okay, fair point...but I had to do YOUR job and inspect the work. Ron L. has a terrific reputation for building cages, and I will likely use them again if I ever need a new one or a rebuild...but I simply can't trust them to do my screens, especially when they hire out subcontractors and don't follow up on the work. They lied to me and tried to deceive me. I can hope they can figure out how to transition their build expertise into their larger business plan, and remember that the customer (read the one who is paying the bills) should be your primary focus.

Always pre-briefed their daily work intentions prior to starting their day. Communication was constant and thorough throughout the project, start to finish. Dylan was on top of everything, every day, calling and texting, meeting face-to-face, supervising and critiquing the work. Any item that I had questions or concerns about were addressed and handled professionally and efficiently. All you have to do is talk about your concerns and work with them until everybody is satisfied. For example, I was worried about my asphalt shingle roof. I preferred that nobody would walk on my roof because walking on it prematurely breaks down the shingles. Dylan looked it over, spoke to his technicians, and they worked together planning the screen replacement steps in a way that would avoid having to put anybody on my roof. It wasn't necessarily easy or the easy way, but it was the right way and no wear and tear was suffered by my roof. Also, my project include one screen door that had damage requiring a complete door replacement in order to return it to a like-new condition. Because the screened-in pool enclosure has two doors, we elected to replace both doors with new doors. After installation, the doors were not closing correctly to my satisfaction. Several considerations were made and adjustments attempted, but the doors were not to my satisfaction. Eventually, working together, Dylan, his brother, and I were able to identify the root cause of the issues and his brother found the solution. Although my door frames were slightly out of standard due to the original installers work 7 years ago, Dylan and his brother took the time to understand the underlying issues and reordered another two brand new doors, making slight corrections to the units, resulting in perfect replacements and effortless operation. The doors have never worked as well as the new units they installed. It took a little extra time, but I was always "in the loop" and involved in the process. My project began when one screen failed. I knew it was probably time for the entire structure to be refurbished, including rotten screens, rusted hardware, and corroded paint. Dylan offered basic single panel replacement, or a complete restoration. Due to the fact the structure was 7 years old, I elected to restore it in its entirety with all new screens, rubber screen spline, rusted hardware replacement, and prep and repaint corroded structure metal. The price was less what I had budgeted based on research and a friend's similar project. Additionally, I have a spa installed. The electricians made a small incision through part of the screen material in order to pass the electrical conduit. Dylan and his brother recognized that it was not the correct or robust way to pass electrical service through the screen and would not be sufficient over time. So, they informed me about it, explained how it needed to be done correctly for longevity and robustness. After project completion, they returned with a custom aluminum electrical service pass-thru frame enclosure that they hand made at their shop, installed it, and now I have a properly built and serviceable electrical conduit connection for my spa. 3 Guys and Some Screen are absolutely the guys to call to get the job done right the first time.

The industry is very busy right now because of the storm. But my expectations are still for businesses to communicate if they can't come. So I searched YELP and sent requests for quotes. Direct Screening was one of the companies that responded. I posted on a Wednesday and Troy told me he could possibly fit me in on Sunday. He was very good and responsive with communication. He sent me a message on Thursday morning asking if he could come out in the evening since he had another job nearby. I told him he can come anytime because I was home. He text 30 minutes before he arrived. He was friendly and professional. We found another damaged screen panel that was small, and he quoted to fix it for an additional $20. His pricing overall was VERY reasonable. He repaired the screens in about an hour. It was impressive because one was directly over the pool so not possible to just put a ladder underneath. But that did not stop him from scaling the support beams and fixing the ceiling panel. After he was complete, he had several ways to pay, but we used Zelle. I would absolutely use Troy again and I will refer him to anyone else who is looking for screen repair or installation.
