Tried calling multiple toll-free numbers for Mr. Cooper to talk to a live agent. All failed. Spent over 45 minutes on this task. Tried their Chat, which didn't work, because they could not see the screen I was having issues with. Finally cheated and said I want a new mtg rate. The person who answered could not tell me if they could do better then 5.5%, they wanted to transfer me to another dept. I requested that they just send me to CS, Marcus was going to put me back into the vectoring system, I said no, I've spent 45 min. in that system. I want a LIVE person. So he transferred me to escalation, and I was finally able to fix my concerns with my loan. Bottom line, their Vectoring system is the absolute worst and doesn't let you speak to a live person. read more

Closing costs were $10,000 and they didn't tell me until after they did a credit check, lowering my credit and locking me in to doing business with them. They sold my information and telemarketers have been harassing me for months, asking me for my social security number and other sensitive information. After 15 years of always paying my mortgage on time, I was shocked to discover an ELECTRONIC payment from my new bank was not applied. The payment has a tracing number showing the transaction complete, but the money apparently disappeared. I have been fighting with these idiots now for two months to get them to find the missing payment and my bank has gotten involved, but in the meantime Mr. Cooper is racking up the late fees AND they've lowered my FICO score by 97 POINTS! NINETY-SEVEN POINTS IN ONE FELL SWOOP!!! This was ALSO after they offered me a lower mortgage rate due to interest rates going down. It sounded really good and would save me a lot of money. We were just ready to sign on the new 20-year loan when they changed it to 25 years because of my "debt ratio" -- something they were COMPLETELY aware of at the beginning of the process. I turned it down flat, feeling that they used a bait and switch tactic on me. They even tried to claim it would still save me money, an outright lie based upon my calculations. They are the worst mortgage company on the planet! I don't see how they are allowed to be in business. Unfortunately my original mortgage was SOLD to Mr. Cooper and it has been an unbelievable nightmare dealing with them! I wanted to set up bi-weekly payments but they said my mortgage had to be paid a month in advance---so I did and sent the required forms. (It is a rip-off they charge $5 for each bi-weekly payment!) I made a large principal payment and the rep only took 10% of what I told her and didn't even code it as a principal payment! Now they won't go back to the day I told them the amount I wanted to be applied to my loan! I made another large principal payment and was assured my bi-weekly payments would not be interrupted. You guessed it--they stopped---and now Mr. Cooper says I have to pay a month in advance before the bi-weekly payments can resume! Their mishandling of funds is unacceptable. I've been told numerous times a manager will call me but they never do. read more
