If I could leave negative stars, I would. In having a home refinanced to remove myself from the loan due to my divorce, I was told I would need to be present for the closing (this was not true) and was mandated to sign closing documents with me listed as a borrower. I refused, then had to pay my divorce attorney to review the documents who then had to contact a real estate lawyer, as my spouse's lawyer threatened me with litigation for not signing these fraudulent documents from Mortgage Connect.
I was given a $50 gift card for my inconvenience and an apology in April. I was contacted and told that that was all the company would give me for compensation. Today, 5/12/2023, I was contacted again and offered another apology, and $500 for my inconvenience. I was told that it was not only Mortgage Connect that was responsible for the fraudulent documents I was mandated to sign, therefore, Mortgage Connect would not be responsible for "all of my legal fees." This company has wasted hours of my time.
I would never work with or recommend this company. I would also suggest that they hire someone with manners that can work with customers in an appropriate and professional manner. I would also suggest they hire someone to proofread their emails and documents to ensure proper writing mechanics and conventions, as this just reinforces their unprofessionalism.
