One time his chicken was not fully cooked, or the ramen was cold, or he found a hair. I understand mistakes happen and they take care of it, it's just odd that it tends to happen to him, but the rest is so good that we keep going. My go-to is the Spicy Double Pork 10/10

They have seating outdoors that is first come/first serve so they had plenty of seating options. My first look through the menu though "holy price-tag!", as the they were even more expensive than I expected. After chatting with one of the chefs, he casually mentioned how it is difficult and costly for them to get ingredients that they need on the island, which is why the closet is so high. We started with the pork dumplings, they were good. Crab Rangoon was also really good. The Ramen was good with the exception of the pork, which was very hard to chew and looked like it had been cooked on a pan separately before adding it to the soup. Everyone at the table was in agreement. Overall it was good. Would I go again...honestly, probably not. The high prices kind of turn me away and there are plenty of other places that I would want to go back to and try first.

Normally,…read morewe would never pay $16 for pho or pad Thai but we are on vacation and acknowledge the high cost of living here. It's certainly not the best pho or pad Thai we've ever had but it is solid. My pho had a generous amount of herbs and bean sprouts and the pad Thai didn't have the strong tamarind and peanut flavor that I am used to but was still acceptable. This satisfied our craving for Asian food nicely.

At the Noodle Merchant, I tried their chicken wings and dumplings. The wings were fried nicely but I didn't like the filling inside of the dumplings. It tasted too mushy for my liking. At Himalaya's, I had their seafood hot pot. All of the seafood was not fresh, but that may be because of the hurricane. I didn't like how the hot pot was just full of sauce. If it were some kind of broth (like it's supposed to be) I would have enjoyed it more. But the "hot pot" ($22) was more like a giant stir fry swimming in soy sauce mixture. I did like the presentation though and the rice was nice. I'm glad there's an Asian stall but seeing them boil ramen packages like I do at home and then charge $15 is not what I call good eats. Again, not sure what's normal and what's changed due to the hurricane. I would like to come back and give it another shot.

In a tropical climate like Puerto Rico, a noodle soup needs to be soul-warming without being overly heavy, and they hit that mark perfectly. Whether you opt for the classic beef or the chicken, the meat is sliced thin and serves as a tender companion to the noodles. The beverage program is designed to be as refreshing as the Pho, focusing on vibrant, tropical flavors that cut through the humidity of Old San Juan. They aren't just sugary tourist traps; they are well-crafted and often utilize fresh botanical ingredients. Drinking here is as much about the sight as the taste. The bar overlooks the San Juan Bay, and watching the sailboats and cruise ships pass by at sunset with a cocktail in hand is one of the most serene experiences in the city. The staff manages the dual nature of the business bar and spa with surprising grace ; you never feel rushed. The service at Anam is described as personal and welcoming, which is a refreshing change of pace from some of the more hectic, high-volume bars nearby. Anam is for the traveler who wants sophisticated relaxation. Between the aromatic Pho, the fresh fruit cocktails, and the view of the water, it offers a multi-sensory reset that is hard to find elsewhere in Old San Juan.

I waited while the chef cooked the meal. This is an interesting spot. it has a band outside and a nail and manicure and spa location in the back. I got the food to go and went outside to a table. The ambiance here is high end and stunning, situated right on the water near the incredible pool. I kicked things off with a miso margarita which was everything I wanted it to be. I had the scallop crudo which was absolute perfection -- fresh and perfectly balanced. I had the Negi-Toro and San Francisco rolls as my mains, which were so unique, rich and fatty the way I like my sushi. We each had a mochi ice cream for dessert - I had the black sesame which was outstanding. Service here was also top notch, attentive and high end. Pro tip - If you're coming from nearby, take an uber vs driving. There's a mandatory valet ($25 validated, $40 non validated).

Soup was mid, a little salty for my taste. Dan dan noodles were delicious, and appreciate the accommodation to swap beef and pork for chicken. Green chicken curry was a miss for both of us, it was very creamy and lacked flavor. We were given these tiny sour lemon treats at the end which we loved. Overall, would definitely come back and try some other dishes if we stay here again.
