Hired Kris Watson 3 on 1-15-25 for a multi unit heat pump installation. Was told job would take no longer than 2 weeks total including ordering the units. paid 50% down like most HVAC techs charge in order to get show on the road. I wish I could give zero stars. 7/12/24; I paid a $5750 for a $11,350.00 heat pump installation job. The contract violates NYS law: no completion date, the money not put into escrow, no notification that the payment would be held in escrow. I'm due a NYSEG refund of $6,600.00 other contractors take off the invoice--so my total invoice should have been $4750. Instead, owner Kris Watson told me I had to file with NYSEG. Not true--the contractor must apply for the rebate. Lied about experience working on stone houses. Aug. 8 2024, the drill they had wasn't even long enough to reach through the wall, couldn't drill through stone. It was decided I would need distillate pumps, an additional cost. He said, "I underbid this job. If you pay for the rest of it, I'll throw in the distillate pumps." I fell for it, and gave him another $5600.00. Since then, he has slow-walked this job. When they finally looked to connect the unit to my electrical panel, the tech noticed I had 100 amp service, when I needed 200 amp service, something Watson should have told me back on July 5 when he first inspected the site. Watson ignored the safety issues and instructed his tech, by cell phone, to do it anyway. The tech refused, and ran the wire to a subpanel without connecting it to the main panel. I hired Norris William of No Limits Electric to do the upgrade ($4000), but I had to wait until Oct. 23. At that time, Norris pointed out the breaker they had was too strong for the wire they used, another safety issue. Watson used the electric delay to justify not working, but here in mid-Jan., he still hasn't done anything that needs electric. Someone comes once in a while to work an hour or so, with no-shows and late shows common. They put 4 unfixed holes in the side of my house unnecessary for the project. Six months later, mid January 2025, I STILL don't have a working heat pump that I paid for in July. Watson is dishonest, his team poorly skilled, the business a disorganized mess, and he just doesn't care. Hire someone else. read more
