Apparently we brought Texas weather to London as we left 95 degrees only to arrive to 95 degrees so after hours or sightseeing and wandering around Covent Garden- we decided to get lit of the sun and grab a drink! This pub is fun! Quaint and curious decor reminiscent of an old London pub with a playlist to match - think 'My Old Man's a Dustman'! Ideally was hoping for a nice glass of IPA but as I have yet to find one I like in the UK - settled with that other item that seems always available on a pub menu - Moet! We came for a cool drink and a bit of food after getting into London. We split a few snacks/small plates, getting two orders of the mini pie and mash and the sweet potato croquettes, along with an order of chips. The pie and mash was quite tasty, as were the chips. The sweet potato croquettes weren't my favorite - I didn't love the spice mix used. The drinks were tasty and service was prompt and friendly. They also have a gin speakeasy upstairs which I would have enjoyed, but my mom isn't much of a gin drinker so I didn't check it out. I'd come back when in town! read more

We went expressly to see Tom Carradine perform his Cockney sing-a-long... what a great night! The pub itself is authentic Victorian vibes, all sorts of things to look at on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Not a big place, not many tables, but we were able to stand at a section of the bar that gave us the best view of the performance and Tom Carradine at his piano. By the end of the night the place was packed, people drawn in by the sounds of the music and the crowd, such fun! If "cockney sing a long" doesn't speak to you, don't worry... there is something for everyone. There was Abba, the Beatles and all kinds of other great classics. NB I had to convince my travel companion to come with me to this show, but we both had so much fun and we both sang our hearts out. Tom Carradine is a superb entertainer. Popped by for a quick pint and refresh of water and loved the vibe and music immediately. Very attentive staff in the event you have a reservation for the gin palace upstairs. The outside seating ready for patrons when indoors fills as it was today! The food looked and smelled delicious but we weren't quite hungry enough yet to try. After a campy out-of-this-world experience at Back to the Future, I took my friends into the magical world of Mr Fogg's Tavern which was just aorund the corner. We were greeted immediately upon our arrival, and we followed a pinball-like ball into the bar area that had a little hot air balloon floating in doorway, which already made it so fun. We continued our journey with spectacular cocktails, one of which was made with the negronic spinning machine on the wall. It's true that it can feel a bit touristy, but hey, we're in London, we wanted to live it up. It's so much fun, and everyone really enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere. The journey of exploring the space in the bar felt very Alice-in-Wonderland meets Willy Wonka. The bathroom decor is fun and also you get a soothing vocal reading of classic books while roaming the restrooms. Absolutely loved this place! The bartender immediately took us in and made room for a group of 4, she actually kicked two people out of the table so we could order drinks and food. Definitely a MUST STOP when in London. We came here a couple of times that's how much we enjoyed it. Old fashioned tavern with a speak easy downstairs behind a portrait to enter very cool. Such a cool bar, the older photographs and vintage items hanging from the ceiling gave this place an incredible vibe. The bartenders were super knowledgeable and made delicious drinks! Frequented this bar multiple times during our visit. Really cool 1920s vibe on the inside. Can even order your drink and bring it outside , there was a drink rail on the outside of the building. This location even had a speakeasy downstairs which looked very cool. Service wasn't always the fastest but we went when they were always busy so we didn't mind. Can get very loud pretty easily since it's such a small space. Cocktails were made to order. By far they made my favorite old fashioned here and Negroni. Bathrooms were kind of hit or miss 4 individual stalls not always the cleanest. read more

Downstairs seems like a regular English pub, but wow, upstairs is such a warm and welcoming place. The staff is very endearing. The mixologist is a true student of the craft. The setting feels like a speakeasy with modern music to a swing flare. Over 200 options for Gin cocktails. The French 75 was fantastic. The decor is super quirky with all these crazy objects hanging from the ceiling. I got the passepartout which was simply delicious. My mother-in-law who typically sticks to margaritas really loved this cocktail too. We also had their featured rose gin cocktails. The rose gin and tonics was hands down my favorite. They let us in with kids which was super helpful! The kids and us were allowed to stay until 6pm, but after 6pm the bar doesn't allow anyone under the age of 21. The upstairs has a BEAUTIFUL speakeasy. The staff was so welcoming and kind enough to let us explore. They knew we had the kids but they still took the time to educate us a little bit more about the gin. I am looking forward to coming back here to experience the pure gin speakeasy. read more

Mr Fogg's was so much fun, I wish we would have spent more time there. Around 8:30 pm on a Thursday a gentleman started handing out sheets of papers with song lyrics on them. Then he promptly hopped behind the piano and started playing while everyone sang along. The pub did get really packed so I would suggest getting there around 7:45 pm or 8:00 pm so you can possibly grab a table and enjoy a pint before the people start coming in. We stayed for about 10 songs and I would say we knew 6 of the 10 as Americans and the 4 we didn't know we were able to pick up very quick. Fun spot, we stopped by for a break and a quick bite during our London travels. We went in the middle of the day and had no issue with seating, service, or speed. We were seated quickly, and all the food and drinks we ordered came out quickly. It had the great feel of a pub with a unique twist of character. The beer selection was fine. I'm an IPA guy, but I understood that their selection of IPAs wouldn't be what I'm typically used to being on the West Coast of CA. I enjoyed how they served the beer in glass mugs instead of the typical pints we get here. We ordered pigs in a blanket and cod bites, both were tasty and satisfying. A few years back we were given a voucher to visit Mr Foggs. After that visit we were hooked and found a few more hostelries and visited them. Yesterday, to finish off a wonderful afternoon with my family we finalised our get together at Mr Foggs. It hadn't changed an iota. Wonderful friendly service, great cocktails (and beer if needed). We were given a table even though we had only booked 30 minutes previously. The Foggs organisation revolves around 'quirkiness', but it works. We are 'oldies' but feel very comfortable in these establishments. In fact, to a point, it takes us back to the old pubs of the East End when we were younger. The old Joanna playing in the background (cockney rhyming slang for piano). What's not to love. read more

Weirdest place in London. My husband, adult daughter and I walk into this bar and there is a bouncer type guy who stands aggressively in front of us. We ask about a table and he just gestured towards the door. We were confused and wandered to the back of the bar where there were open tables. We sat down and then he came by and said we could actually sit there. We then saw that there was a gin room upstairs. When we went to go upstairs, we were accosted by another employee. My daughter didn't have her id with her and then we were basically told we needed to leave. I rarely give bad reviews but thought that I should warn others that this seems like a tourist trap or maybe they are just looking for a certain type of customer and we weren't it. Stay away unless you want super creepy vibes. read more

This is the first tavern we went to in London. I made a reservation and they were very nice even though we were late. The servers here are so friendly and attentive. I got the political pyromancer which was a mix of lychee, vodka, and lemon juice it was so delicious. We got the blue cheese beer corquettes which was a perfect little snack. This place was such a letdown. The decor is wonderful. It feels like entering Alice in Wonderland, but we went in December so it also had the addition of feeling like Christmas in Wonderland. Unfortunately, the service and drinks were tried were just bad. The servers were nowhere to be found and it took a while to order, even though when we entered the establishment was mostly empty. We tried the mulled wine since it had been recommended to us to try. It tasted like elderberry and cough medicine. I would not return based on this experience. They stop serving food on the earlier side on Mondays, so maybe the food here is worth it? read more

I love the ambiance and atmosphere here. Lad at the front that greeted me was super nice, welcoming and adorable. He definitely set the mood. My waitress was very endearing, calling me darling and was attentive to my needs. I ordered Pigs in a Blanket and it was delicious! I didn't get to try any of their draft beer since something was wrong with their drafting system, so I ordered a bottle of beer instead. They sounded absolutely delightful and let me tell you, they lived up to that.
