6/18/26 I had the Icecream here after my son raved about it. I think he overly hyped it. While it was good I wasn't blown away by it. The service was friendly and the icecream was good. I got a boring vanilla sundae with chocolate sauce whipped cream and a cherry and a bottle of water. It was over 8$. The place is very cute with soldier statues and a large ring game in the exterior. There are tables and picnic tables outside. It's very relaxing and a beautiful place to enjoy homemade ice-cream. S'coupe de Ville is the best ice-cream I've had, and Leibys is a close second. read more

This is a really fun place to grab ice cream while we were visiting. It's in a very walkable area of the downtown. Parking is a little bit of an issue, but didn't take us over long to be able to find a place to park and within a walkable distance. My family had a great experience. read more

Our group of six had a great time here! The building has a historic charm that made the wait (about 15 minutes) more enjoyable, and the outdoor line even had a fun game to keep us entertained. We passed another ice cream shop to try this one after a tour guide mentioned it was among the best in the country according to a recent news article. While my two-scoop cone definitely hit the spot on a warm August afternoon, my daughter pointed out that the article's author might not have sampled some of the fantastic dairy stores and ice cream shops we have back home in the Midwest. Absolutely amazing apple snaps ice cream! Without a doubt this is the flavor that you should get when you stop by here. We were waiting for our ghost tour to start and found this place nearby. The locals love it, and tourists love it too. I had the regular vanilla ice cream with a waffle cone, Hubby had his cookie dough ice-cream. I think they tweak it daily, so everyday comes different flavors. The service was good, and the young, happy campers served ice cream. Ice creams do make people very happy. Well, I'm so glad this place exists, so the next time I return, I'll try more ice cream! We arrived late before they closed, but people still come here at night and line up for the sweets after their meals. After getting the ice cream, you can sit on the bench to eat it or take it to go. A very famous spot for dessert in Gettysburg. And, for great reason. The Place definitely makes quality ice cream, has a decently diverse menu with nice specials, and the wait times are reasonable. Quite efficient here. I got to try out their cookies and cream milkshake. That milkshake was very good! I could barely snap a picture in time before I finished everything. It was creamy and had plenty of cookie chunks. A fantastic price as well, and a nice portion. Someone else had a great pumpkin ice cream of some sort, which I thought sounded unique and very tasty. Typically I never leave reviews but today I think I just have to. This mom & pop ice cream store is exceptional in both its service and it's ice cream itself. To begin, the service at this place is exceptional. Typically they have a set of ice cream flavors that they serve for a day. However today I asked if they had a flavor that they weren't serving for that day. I'm just visiting from another state and just thought it wasn't on the menu. (100% my bad) However even though they didn't offer it, they were able to get it for me from their back freezer. This process of preparing it for me took time since it wasn't pre-prepared. But this goes to show you that this place priorities customers over comfort. Additionally, their ice cream is exceptional. It is all homemade and the flavor and texture of the ice cream is perfect. OMG was this ice cream to die for. I had the mint oreo and I wouldn't change a thing about it. My boyfriend got the banana peanut butter ice cream which he enjoyed very much but said a bit of chocolate in there would have made it a million times better (and it was already great!) My family and I had often read great things about Mr. G's, so when we told a relative that we were going to be heading into Gettysburg for the day, he said we NEEDED to make a stop especially for ice cream at Mr. G's. Boy did Mr. G's exceed my expectations! First of all, there are a wide variety of flavors, both traditional and unique concoctions. My son went with his all-time favorite, strawberry, but this wasn't plain old average strawberry: there were actually BIG chunks of juicy strawberries in it. It was difficult for me to choose between the Coffee and Donuts, Cookie Dough, or Pumpkin Brownie, but, being your stereotypical autumn-pumpkin-spice-everything girl, I ultimately went with the Pumpkin Brownie. The mix between pumpkin flavor and big, chewy chocolate brownie bits was AMAZING! (However, I will be back to try the Coffee Donuts and Cookie Dough). My husband very much enjoyed his Black Raspberry. Mr. G's is a MUST when you are in Gettysburg.
