I've been going to this particular Mr. Lube off and on for years. The only reason I'd break cycle would probably be having to go to the dealership for something in particular or if I was having my oil change done out of province which isn't often. What are the advantages of going to Mr. Lube versus getting your oil change anywhere else? What does Mr. Lube offer? They offer a variety of services having to do with a vehicle's regular maintenance. This includes oil changes, as well as filters, flushes, belts, wipers, batteries, undercoating and other fluid related services and can rotate tires even. What makes Mr. Lube different than say bringing your car to the dealer or other garages would be that you don't have to exit your vehicle. You essentially drive into the garage, turn off your car and are offered a newspaper, something to drink and you can stay in your car during the entire process. There is no appointment necessary and for the price of an oil change your fluids and other items get a complete inspection. Tire pressure is checked, all lights are checked, health of battery, acid in coolant, color of fluids, clean filters, even your doors hinges are lubricated. While there have been mentions of upselling all this is just advice and you can take it or leave it. There is no obligation to get any service done beyond what you came in for however if your transmission fluid isn't the right color they will show it to you. If your filter is black they will bring it to you to see etc. Your vehicle has a schedule of what services it needs to have according to regular maintenance checks such as a cycle for a coolant change is X amount of KM's but they will still check it for acid levels. Nobody likes to have to spend money on their car but maintaining it essential to keeping it healthy and operational. While Mr. Lube offers a variety of car maintenance services, they also do it in a quick and convenient environment. You don't have to leave your car there, in fact you don't have to even get out of your car. Much information about how your vehicle is doing is checked by a team of technicians in a short period of time. The condition of your fluids, filters and other things can easily be shown to you first hand so basically everything is transparent because they are performing the service in your presence. While they make recommendations for service I do not feel pressured to have to perform anything and opt out on some from time to time for certain things that can be stretched. The service is always fast and friendly regardless of the tech I get since they pretty much all follow a pretty standard way of doing things. I've been pretty happy with how Mr. Lube has helped me take care of my vehicle through out the years and it's done quickly which is good because I don't have the time to leave my car at the dealer unless it's something major and I would prefer not having to waiting for oil changes. I've been coming to this location on and off for years. I usually go to my dealership for major repairs, but for tires and oil changes, I stick with this Mr. Lube. Normally, service is quick--maybe a ten-minute wait. This weekend, though, it was very busy (understandably, since we got our first snowfall and everyone was rushing to get their winter tires on). The chaos wasn't from the volume of cars, but from how the manager was handling the line: he had everyone start and stop their cars every five minutes just to move forward a single spot. Back out, pull in, inch up four feet--repeat. I ended up moving my car seven times. I get the intention--preventing people from cutting in line--but constantly having multiple vehicles shifting around like that is dangerous and a liability nightmare. A simple solution? Hand out numbered slips (1-20) as customers arrive. When it's their turn, collect the number as their car enters the bay. You could even laminate them to reuse! At one point, I saw a couple get visibly frustrated with the poor attendant directing traffic--because honestly, the process made no sense. I visited to do oil change and other services where the next day I experienced leakage from my car that the store failed or planned to fail in identifying the sources of this leakage to avoid liability and accountability. Oil Change with synthetic oil. I'm a female so I know (after working in garage repair shops for over 20 years) that we are constantly being taken advantage of regarding repairs to our vehicles. The service advisor told me they'd: check tire pressure, do the oil change, new oil filter and air filter (OEM parts as I requested) and inspect underneath of car and finish up by washing front and rear windows. Tire pressure they said was ok. At 35 psi. (my tire pressure when I checked after service was not 35 on each tire. Each tire was different psi) No washing of windsheild or rear glass. If youre not gonna do it why say you will. Also recommended services (the upscale) which I thanked them for their concern and would look into it later. Ok I got the oil change and that's that. I come here for oil changes because it's fairly quick and convenient. Sure, I could save a bunch if I did it myself, but like I said, I appreciate the convenience of having someone else look after the mess. The service here is fine. I appreciate that they check all your fluid levels and make sure that all your lights are working. That's great. They get a star for that. But I'm SOOOOOO tired of the upsell. If they had their way every trip in there would cost me $250, when all I'm there for is an $80 oil change. Most of what they're upselling is unnecessary but they make it sound like it's the most important thing on the planet. Really, you think my truck's going to implode if I don't change the front differential fluid this very second? What, you mean it's imperative that I flush the gunky buildup out of my 2 year old engine, because I'm 200km over my 5000km oil change interval? My air filter is has a slight beige tint to it that could lead to catastrophic engine failure and needs to be replaced immediately?!? People don't read their owners manuals and Mr. Lube knows that if they say important sounding things like 'fuel system carbonization' with a furrowed brow, your average motorist is going to cave. But the pressure they put on you is relentless. They've got at least three things they can add to drive up the cost of every visit and if you say NO they continue to ask you no less than three times. If you're a hard-ass and insist on saying no, they'll send over another guy to work you over some more. So, here's a tip. Get the oil-change. It's great. But everything else that they try to sell you; the engine flushes, the fuel system treatments, etc. are generally pretty useless and often not recommended by the manufacturer. So a great tactic is to sit there during the oil change with your service manual on your lap and every time they try to upsell you, consult the manual and say things like, 'hmmm...it doesn't saying anything in here about an engine flush...is that recommended by the manufacturer?'. I like the old guys but we will have to see how the new staff performs. i come here for oil changes because its on the way home and they are pretty quick however the constant attempts to upsell are a bit offputting. I know what i want and why i am there and quite honestly there are better prices out on the market. Its about convenience and getting on with my day. Its a oil change, they took out the old oil, put in some new stuff, and that is what they were paid to do. I come here for my regular oil changes and other minor tune-ups needed on the car. The location is convenient and they get you in-and-out in a very reasonable time. Don't have to sit around for too long if you want an oil change. There are always plenty of workers there to keep the customers flowing. read more

Horrible customer service! Once I first arrived, I asked how much time it will take for my tire change. The employee said it would take about an hour. I thought that I will just wait the hour. Next I asked what would be the cost for my tire change and I got a reply saying that he does not know. Your telling me you've worked here for at least a month and still dont know the price. That was not the end of it, I waited for two hours and had five cars pass me just because they had a rim in the tire. That is not how a line should work. In a grocery store it does not matter if you have 2 bags or 2 carts, you still wait in a line no matter what. The car in front of me was there for about an hour and a half, and yet no new tires were on it. I would give this a rating of 0 stars if it was possible. read more

Just finished an engine flush, oil change, and rust-proof undercoating. Engine flush and oil change were fine. However the undercoating was not. They sprayed the electrical components in the engine compartment full of undercoating. They got it on the plastic reservoirs. Worse yet, they sprayed the rust-proof compound on the door jams, all the way up to the top. When I asked why, they said the nozzle on their undercoating gun was too big to fit in the factory holes of the door. As a result, they did not spray inside the door, rather just the surface. I had to remind them of several areas that they missed, or may have thought they'd get away without spraying. Ultimately, I was provided with a HUGE, STICKY, HARD TO CLEAN MESS in the engine compartment, and the doors. I was reimbursed a meager $10. Definitely does not make up for the mess of theirs that I had to clean. After this, I am skeptical of the work they do with my mechanical components too. Engine flushes, oil changes etc. might be o.k. When it comes to the undercoating, it was the MOST HORRIFICALLY DONE JOB I HAVE EVER SEEN. STAY AWAY FROM MR. LUBE MISSISSAUGA. read more

The price for the filter was 2 times a dealer price (i am guilty of not doing a research) i ended up buying an original filter and the performance went back to normal. the attempts to upsell are unpleasant. this was the very first time i used mr lube service read more

Highly recommended. I just needed to change the headlight bulb. They did it really fast. Not expensive. And watching the guy, who changed the bulb, i decided that it was definitely worth it, since the operation required removing the air filter and some more components to get to headlight. They put diesel motor oil in our gasoline engine car a while back!! At first, we had doubts, but the mechanic insisted that our VW Golf takes diesel motor oil and even shown us what it says on their computer. We were stupid to believe him. Car drove horribly after that...after a month or two we finally figured out the wrong oil might be the cause. We went back to that Mr. Lube to tell them that they had put the wrong oil in our car. Stay away from this location, I took my car in for a routine oil change, the technician couldn't figure out where my cabin filter was on my tdi new beetle, he ended up scratching my dash :( They said they would order the part and replace it for me, it's been months, I've called them several times and they have never called me back.
