Monday 5/4/2026 @ 4 p.m Items marked with wrong prices and items in the wrong areas. The workers were blaming the customers for their displacement of items and prices. Many of us just left our baskets where they were and left. How do you assume someone is Stupid and can not tell the difference between organic and non organic meanwhile you have cases of organic items mis marked. Avoid this spot if you can. Not worth the hassle or embarrassment. read more

Mr. Mango is a great shopping experience in Ft Greene Brooklyn. It's the size of 2 typical bodegas in the area. The fresh produce is very impressive. It's very well stocked with the freshest and nicest produce around, I really don't know how they do it. It's also our go-to for cut flowers as the selection is great. read more

one of my fav local spots where I pick up fresh veggies. Sometimes not the freshest but the fruits and vegetables displayed outside are some of the cheapest in the area. Inside are the more expensive veggies and also has other grocery items. Friendly staffers, relatively organized and clean, bright storefront. There are lines with the 1-2 cashiers but moves fast. Big positive here is the pricing of the outside displayed veggies and fruits. For ex, $1 box of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries; $2 bag of onions, 2 for $1 apples, $1.99 califlower, 2 for $1 peppers. read more

As I have moved around our fair borough of Brooklyn, I have grown to low-key love--and be utterly fascinated by--the (random? related chain?) of Mr. [fruit] stores in varying neighborhoods. I mean, leaving behind Mr. Lime was one of the saddest things for me about leaving moving away from South Slope. This outpost has many of the same great features of the others--primarily a plethora of likely close to expiring yet incredibly reasonably-priced produce. The rest of the store is solid--will not completely remove your need for an occasional grocery store visit, but can probably cover you for days at a time in the interim. The place itself is a bit of a victim of its own success though--in a great, central location right outside the subway, it can get so crowded I just don't even walk in sometimes. The outside can be crowded enough with people surfing the produce, but the interior is long and narrow, with two registers on different sides of the store--it's a confusing layout and can be frustrating to navigate, and I think adds a bit to the crowding and confusion. But sometimes it's all worth it for that giant $1 box of strawberries. read more

This Is my spot for produce, prices are the best by far. Just a heads up, if you buy, be sure to use the products quickly, because if your not freezing...it will go bad. They are also a grocery, and thy do have good sales, but they are not advertised, so search and you will find some great deals. I love this place. I'm sure you will too! read more

I had not visited this market in a really long time and was super happy to see these amazing deals on fruits and veggies I needed for the coming week. Everyone was respectfully spaced while shopping. I noticed the baskets were inside, but I was able to snag one and continue to shop. Despite some of the produce being a tad pricey, like the $10 watermelon, I was able to find some great deals. 3 ears of corn for $1? how about some fancy salad mix with baby kale? Or even some organic grape tomatoes? Two words.... Yes Please. The staff is personable and friendly and the scent from the juice bar side is intoxicating. My go-to for blueberries, strawberries, and scallions, baklava, pre-made vegan sandwiches and wraps, and frozen vegetable dumplings. It's a staple of the neighborhood, and the workers are all always courteous. I belong to a co-op that's further away, and I go here for my organic kale when I need to, and recently, during a bout of the cold, for Natalie's orange juice and cans of Progresso chicken soup with herb dumplings. The latter was more expensive than Stop & Shop of course but well worth the convenience. I'm lucky in that it's even closer to me than Whole Foods, and unlike it, importantly, a small business, the heart of our city. read more

We stopped into to get some groceries before heading home. It's Part grocery/ part flower shop. They had a nice selection of flowers especially the sunflowers and lilies. And the flowers were reasonably priced. They also had a nice selection of cheeses, fruit, and vegetables. We bought white peaches, bananas, mozzarella and cucumber. I'm happy to note that they are open 24 hours. read more

I need to rethink supporting this establishment which has periodically shown passive aggressive racism practices. Today (5/11/25) I took a stroll with my Husband to Mr Mango. Normally the women workers are very kind so that allows me the space to feel comfortable in supporting that business. But today was a very different story. There was a lovely display of Mothers Day flowers for sale outside of the store. I stood on line to purchase a bouquet of orange tulips while my Husband went inside to purchase some groceries. As I approached to pay the Latino male worker who was handling the customer floral line he greeted me with,"You know those are $12." Me-Ok Him-You can pay with Apple pay or credit Me-Ok I handed the bouquet to the lovely Asian woman who was wrapping all of the floral purchases, placed my coffee down to get my credit card, he took my card, placed the payment, handed me the card back then proceeded to greet the other Caucasian customers with ,"Those are $12 dollars." Not with the assumption statement I was given upon my greeting. Then he kindly asked the others on line if they wanted a receipt. I had already mentioned to him while waiting for my arrangement to be wrapped that I would need a receipt. After I received my bouquet I waited for said receipt. He gives me a look like-And. What? I explained I am waiting for my receipt please. He begrudgingly ripped the receipt from the register, handed it to me with disgust sideways with no eye contact. Like be gone. My money matters to support Mr Mango just like anyone else whom chooses to support that business. However no one should ever tolerate the disrespectful racial undergirded behavior practiced by others whom were taught that black humans do not matter. A class in historical racism should be taught to these workers prior to them coming into the neighborhood we established way before gentrification took place. Perhaps then they will have a moment of reckoning to understand how their current actions continue the racism that is inherent within the world. read more

For a small neighborhood grocery store, Mr. Mango is top notch. Especially through this whole COVID-19, Mr. Mango has stayed stocked with mostly everything. You can get just about all the essentials at Mr. Mango. They have a really good produce section with reasonable prices. There isn't a massive selection of anything, but almost all your basic needs will be met. They also have a prepared food section for you to order sandwiches and sushi. If you're in the Fort Greene, downtown Brooklyn area and you pass by Mr. Mango, definitely pop in to check it out! read more

What would we do without Mr M?? This little neighborhood staple is such a gem. From fresh produce to a variety of beers and spritzers, this store has everything, I don't even know how they manage to fit it all in! The staff are so friendly and they've been open all the way through Covid. I do miss the juice bar :( hopefully they bring that back soon. I heard this is a chain with different fruits (Mr Lime etc) and even though I've never been, I'll always argue that this one, Mr Mango, is the best one! read more

This place has the best prices on produce!!! Garlic, ginger.. scallions.... Onions, anything! You can find almost here... obviously their prices on sauces, packaged frozen food will be marked up 1-2$ but I find their cheese, hummus and salsas to be fairly priced to all the smaller markets in the area. They make fresh juice here and also have packaged fresh sushi, snacks.. They sell everything from soap, paper towels, fresh flowers, all your asian condiments, ramen bowls, olives, etc. This is my goto market in the neighborhood...! read more

The food selection is ok. Customer service is still somewhat uncomfortably overbearing. Most importantly, check your receipt before leaving and shop inside to avoid the rat buffet outside. the rats are as big as a Rottweiler pup it is insane how many of them jump out of the fruit & vegetable boxes. read more

I usually calculated my grocery before I reached the register but bec I had too much to carry I forgot to do my math. The cashier had overcharged a couple of items or maybe she didn't know the prices. I live too far from there to make a trip to dispute it. I was only there because I was meeting someone in the area to pick something up and i passed by there and saw their prices which some are cheap and some reasonable. Just make sure u see each prices typed in before you pay. read more

We discovered Mr. Mango during the COVID-19 pandemic while on a neighborhood walk. I wish we had known about it earlier. It's truly a gem. It offers a diverse selection of produce at phenomenally affordable prices, with a rotating group (usually outside) of produce on sale. For example, for $1 each, we have bought: six limes, small carton of blackberries, two huge zucchinis, small-mid-sized pineapple, avocado, small-mid-sized cantaloupe, three bunches of scallions, and two red peppers. Their non-produce items are a bit more expensive than going to Trader Joe's, although eggs are very competitive (as low as $1.49). The only thing I have found to be consistently disappointing is the garlic. Every time I have bought it, it has not been fresh. I guess the turnover isn't as high. read more

Mr Mango! I am so excited for your cheap delicious produce and the fact that you're close to my apartment!! I love your new, renovated inside, with clean aisles, bright lights, and organized sections. I love the fresh breads and pastries, hot coffee, and juice bar. I love that you carry grocery items like hand soap, diapers, cereals, organic snacks. You even have a cold case of organic yogurts and smoothies. I love that in walking in on a Sunday afternoon, there were three different employees around to answer questions, and two separate open registers. Produce here is even nicer than Mr Coco in Clinton Hill and just as affordable. I'm so glad I have another option to get fresh fruits and veggies but not have to trek to Chinatown. I am totally going to be here at least once a week. A request - if you carried gallons of milk you would be my one stop shopping location. What do we have to do to make that happen? read more

I love all the Mr. Fruits chains, but this one is my favorite. Their rotating produce deals, fresh sushi, and beer selection are top notch. They also regularly receive a surplus of fancy & expensive grocery items (Rao's, Minor Figures oat milk, etc.) and have great deals on them. Stock up, though, because they'll go quickly and will be gone for awhile! read more

I like this grocery store. I really only ever come here in emergencies, like most recently when I needed vinegar at 930pm because I was in the middle of a pickling experiment, and they always have what I'm looking for at a good price. Frankly, Mr. Mango is still one of the best places to get produce. However, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT! Especially during rush hour. They will scan your items at lightening speed, and they do not always input the correct price. I have caught them overcharging me on things multiple times. I'm pretty good at calculating what I bought in my head and catching them before they charge me more than the listed price. However, I know that not everyone is able to catch these things. This is how the overcharging works. * Going super fast * Produce that is supposed to be $0.99/lbs becomes $1.99/lbs * Outdoor Produce that is supposed to be $1/each gets indoor price of $2/each. Just watch yourselves guys. I like them, but I don't other people potentially overpaying. $5 here, $2 there adds up. read more

I've been passing by this market for a year now and finally made the time to peek inside. I am SO glad I did. The produce prices are OUTSTANDING. Better than Trader Joe's! I found a carton of beautiful delicious strawberries for $1!! Okay, so they're not organic but the organic ones are a measly 50 cents more! The prices are on par with the street vendors in Flushing, Queens but the quality is beyond. I really liked that they charge by the pound for some items like onions and they've cleaned them a bit so I'm not paying for skins I wouldn't be consuming anyways. Another plus is that they don't wrap most of their produce in styrofoam and plastic so I can just put everything into my totes and walk away feeling better for it contributing to the plastic crisis. They also have some fancy schmancy organic dry goods and tons of unique alcohols but the produce is where it's at! There's also a juice bar and a salad bar that looks incredibly fresh. I've shopped here for about two years now. They have numerous imported packaged food and fruits and their stuff are fresh. Their staff are very nice. Things seemed fine. However I am starting to notice that the Korean staff are very rude to each other and to customers as well. A few times, I saw how they scolded each other loudly in the store while customers were queuing right behind them. Today, I saw another incident when another Korean cashier/staff was being very rude to a customer over the counter. (I was standing behind this customer). The customer was obviously confused with what the cashier was asking (with heavy Korean accent). But it seemed like the Korean cashier wasn't able to explain what he wanted to ask. Then this Korean cashier made a very angry and frustrated attitude, he cursed under his breath in Korean and left! (I know what "shibal" means) Very disappointed and shocked. How rude! read more

If you have a Mr. [Fruit] store in your area, consider yourself lucky. Sometimes I find it hard to fathom how I can live next to the biggest transportation hub in Brooklyn and my only options for produce are sporadic street vendors of big chains like Stop and Shop (meh quality) and Key Food (overpriced). Then Mr. Mango comes along with their Asian grocery pricing mentality. With their incredibly affordable produce out front. With their limited but pretty good selection of prepackaged raw meat in the back. With their big selection of ethnic sauces. Hell, they even have a bibimbap station! Mr. Mango is bigger than Mr. Melon a few blocks further down on Fulton, and they make good use of their space. One side of the store has all the fruits, vegetables and perishables, whereas the other side of the store has more shelf-stable stuff and the prepared food area, which includes their sushi fridge. They also sell random things like shaving cream. It's really a boom to the neighborhood and fills a much needed gap in the area. Hope to see more of these stores everywhere! read more

Mr Mango is the best alternative to shopping at whole foods nearby. They have a very amazing selection of organic items that I couldn't find anywhere else. The produce is really fresh & the prices are fair for the area. I had an issue with a couple expired items but they let me exchange them for new ones. Really nice store with great people running it. read more

The men who work here are absolute delights. They are there way into the night (I can always count on Mr. Mango when I'm coming home late from work) and they're still professional & cheery. Mr. Mango has been a total lifesaver during the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only do they have almost everything you could possibly need (e.g. fresh produce, flour, asian instant ramen, wide variety of beer, cleaning supplies..) they are run by the nicest, most helpful staff. Did I mention they are also open 24/7? I don't understand why anyone would ever go to Whole Foods down the street, wait in line and get crap service for overpriced items with Mr. Mango open. Mr. Mango is definitely my new favorite store in Fort Greene. This neighborhood, like others have said, has been needing an affordable place to get fresh food and produce. I love Greene Grape, but for staples Mr. Mango has them beat. The produce looks and tastes great - I got 3 lemons for $1, and 3 peppers for $1! There is a bim bim bop and udon soup counter, and a chilled fridge with sushi, prepared wraps (around $4-5), and salads (for $3-5!). Awesome place to stop in and grab a quick healthy snack or meal. There is a fresh juice and smoothie counter, as well as baked goods. The only thing they don't have is ice coffee, but they do have hot coffee. The prices for most items are cheaper than other bodegas, hummus for instance is $4.99 in Park Slope, and $3.99 here! I think the prices are even cheaper than PathMark. Hallelujah for Mr. Mango! This is " 3rd times" the cashier overcharged me. Very intentionally. Whatever you buy, you check the price when u pay. Otherwise you gotta pay more than the price they write. So weird. read more

Normally a fine experience. This time however my cashier charged me for something I did not purchase nor did I bring home....a $5 bar of chocolate. When I contacted the manager he did not believe me. He said I would have to return the following day after he checked the security footage. I've shopped here at least a dozen times and this was a frustrating conversation. When I returned to the store for my refund the manager opened with "You want your $5?!". He then went to the register pulled out $5 and handed it to me without any apology. While I do not take issue with the mistake the cashier made I did not appreciate being called a liar for something so trivial as $5 on a $40 purchase....Or the manager being so dismissive and not offering a simple apology. Respect for your regular patrons apparently is a lot to ask of the management at Mr Mango. read more
