If you have a keypad garage door opener mounted on the outside of your house, DO NOT TRUST IT! Only trust that it WILL malfunction on you when you don't have your house keys on you, at night. Fortunately, I did have my cell phone. Cory showed up in less than 15 minutes & had us back in our house in another 15 minutes. Great fast professional service! I needed to rekey a new security deadbolt for a rental. When I asked the cost, I was told it would be $60. I questioned the amount but was told that they usually only do automotive work and rekeying a lock takes quite a while. Although I can't rate Mr. Speedy's actual quality of work (this is because they never allowed it to get that far), like many in the service industry these days, I was first met with immediate dominance that I, as a customer, must be uneducated and an attitude of how dare I even question the superiority of an 'expert'. My ask was to program a replacement key fob for my push-button start vehicle and to cut the valet key. I was quoted a price of $240 that included a new fob and was adamant that I must only purchase their replacement key fob. While I can understand the valet key may not be guaranteed to fit given I purchased it from another vendor, flat refusing to even offer to provide the service seems unreasonable to me. I was then confronted with the education that a 'valet' key is, in fact, used for emergency reasons to start the engine (implying it was not used for valets). I happen to know it's used to lock the glove box to keep valuables when using a valet. Regardless, I was given the excuse that fobs are only $20 and are not worth the hassle (or his time). I was then asked directly if I wanted to book an appointment. I said I needed to wait and was about to explain that if I did decide to move forward, I would need to first see about returning the fob I had already purchased - but instead, they immediately hung up on me because apparently their time is too valuable to work on winning over a potential customer. Good thing, too, as I called the competition (Bob's Lock & Key) and found they would reprogram my purchased fob and recut the key for only $72. And, they were very nice, personable, and attentive to my needs - while then providing helpful information without the need to preach to me. Perhaps this example can be a lesson learned on how customer service can be greatly improved (along with pricing). read more
