Badger Wash on the corner of Bird and Main in Sun Prairie seriously needs to do better. Or get out…read moreof business and let someone who cares take over. Been here three times and this was my last visit. All three times--in three different bays--there was no soap in the high-pressure wash at all, just water. Very few of the other options--pre-soak, clear coat, etc.--seemed to be in order either. Thank goodness the foam brush was working, otherwise I would have been completely sunk. I gave this business three shots because the first time I figured my poor experience was a fluke. Places can run out of supplies, right? The second try was just that, a second chance. Today's was the last and I will never be back. The place is run-down from top to bottom, inside and out, and it's obvious nobody cares about it or the customers who might wander in unaware. Is it $4 for four minutes, or $5 for five minutes? It's impossible to know, because there are labels on the machines saying both. I think they're hanging on to it for the land value and because there are so few hand-wash places in this area. They deserve to be run out of business, and town. And yeah, to echo other reviewers, the hard-water spots left on my car today were atrocious. I understand the Madison area has hard water, but I've never experienced that at any other car wash around here. Please avoid. Drive on by. Flip them the finger as you go. For the $10-$12 I spent here each visit, you can get a much better car wash at any of the other automated places in town. Or in your driveway with a bucket and sponge. Screw this place, these people, and all other businesses that operate this way.

After asking friends and neighbors with no luck I turned to Yelp and saw the great reviews for Monona Motors. I had seen this place dozens of times on walks and bike rides - it is just a mile away so I thought I would give them a try. It is a tiny place so it is hard to get into but I was not in a rush - two weeks out was OK. Greg and the guys were really friendly and straightforward in helping to figure out what was wrong. They only fixed what was wrong and did so in a cost effective way. They also discovered a very rusted out part that needed replacing in order to replace a rocker arm (I saw the old one - wow I am lucky it didn't fall apart). They tried getting the part from Nissan but due to pandemic supply chain issues it was not available but they found one from the South on Ebay for a quarter of the price of new. It was in great shape (no salt used down there). I like their initiative in trying Ebay for the part. I brought the car back for this additional work. It was done quickly and for the price quoted. So far so good with both the brake job and the front end work - and I am sure I saved a ton of $ going to these guys. I am glad I found them on Yelp!
