I have gone to Seversin's for 6 or 7 years since I moved to the east side of Madison. I have found their prices reasonable and, most important, their service honest. I have used them for oil changes, exhaust system problems, and tire repairs. Most recently, since I bought an EV, I had my car towed to Seversin's after flying off the road and getting a flat tire in a snow storm. On a weekend. They talked to me on Monday, and told me to wait. Called me Tuesday and said the tire held air and didn't need to be replaced ( they could have lied and charged me for a new tire...I was totally convinced the tire was ruined). When I picked up the car, I asked, "How much?" No charge. I have had a different tire torn previously, and they replaced it within two days and charged less than $300 for the new tire and labor. These guys aren't fancy but they're honest and timely. They also allow use of their outside air hose absolutely free! You can trust them. read more

Friendly, professional, and quick service with reasonable prices. My AC went out and Mike noticed it was a wiring issue. So instead of running unnecessary tests and doing an AC recharge, he ordered the part needed, promptly called me when it arrived, and fixed it! Just in time for a road trip too :) read more

Really trust these guys, and enjoy working with Mike. Once took a truck in for brake repair, it was a simple leak on a line they fixed for $65. Brought in another 2018 car to do all pads and rotors on brakes, they charged half of the estimate from Mex's down the road. ($440). Had an oil change appointment at 1pm. Showed up and found that everyone left. The lady working the counter at the gas station was rude and an a-hole when I asked her about the shop. Definitely the most convenient place to fill up and get a car wash on the east side. The wash code prints out on your gas receipt right at the pump. Eight bucks for the best quality touchless wash including scented prewash and undercarriage wash and spot free finish, and the car comes out really clean and shiny and smelling fresh. There's also two lower levels of wash at $7 and $6. Really an affordable day brightener, this time of the dreary winter. I'm a fan. Note: If your car rides low, or you have an extended bike rack that rides low, be sure not to go out the Fair Oaks St. side of the lot, or you will scrape loudly and painfully on the steep grade. Seversin's Service Center - Car wash! - Auto Repair Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

We've been here twice since moving to Madison, as they're the closest shop to our home. I'm in two minds about them, so hopefully this doesn't get too long. Our first encouter with them was when we were in the middle of moving from our hotel to our apartment over the weekend and our brake line went. We went in on Monday morning and asked them to tow it to their location from the South Towne shopping center. They did so ($60 for the tow), and had our car fixed by Wednesday morning. The price was high, but not higher than anywhere else, but not the best deal, either. So, reasonable. However, as I was driving the two blocks home, one tire went flat. I walked back, told them what had happened, and let him know we had previously had no issues with our tires. I asked if he could tow it back or if it would be safe to limp, and he said he couldn't tow it as their tow truck requires inflated tires (cue my suspicion of how my tire went flat in the first place), but they would also charge me for the tow. So I decided to limp the car back. At this point, my opinion of them was pretty low. However, as I got back to my car, the service man drove up in the tow truck and said that he wasn't sure if it was safe to limp. He checked out the tire, figured out that he could try to patch the bead, so he just took the wheel back to the shop and patched the bead. Only charged me $10 for that whole fiasco, so after that I had a pretty good impression of Seversin's Our second encounter was more recent. We hit a deer with a glancing blow. We were pretty sure that the car was mechanically fine, but we wanted to get it checked. In addition, one headlight assembly was toast, so we requested that they replace that and realign the other headlight. It took almost a week to get our car back from that, and when we did, it was making a new sound -- bubbling. After a bit of research, it seems this can be from low coolant. We refilled our coolant, and as of right now things are okay, but I am really disappointed that they didn't address that issue, or at least tell us -- especially as the body damage was near the coolant reservoir and radiator. However, their customer service is pretty good, and they're convenient. They also look to be good for regular maintenance. read more

Extremely poor service and piss poor attitude from employees - they attacked a personal friend of mine on Facebook when she raised concerns on her personal page about the quality of service and the price. Like Paula P. she went in for one thing and when she left she ended up having something else wrong with her car. I would suggest staying as far away from Seversin's as possible. A friend referred me to Seversin's as I was told last time I got my oil changed that I needed new brakes. I drive a Toyota Camry and have been taking it to the dealer for years for the oil changes. They quoted around 700 for new brakes, front and rear, stating to fix them within the next 5000 miles. I went to seversin's and was able to get in immediately after I called and they were able to fix my rear brakes and tell me I could keep my front ones for at least another year. They were very nice and very reasonable for labor. I was able to only pay little under 300! quite a savings. I am also impressed that he would tell me not to replace the front brakes as they did not need it yet. The honesty and integrity of the owner will keep me coming back and referring others as well! I'm a big fan of Seversin's. I've taken my Subaru Outback to Seversin's several times for oil changes and other repairs. They've saved me hundreds of $$, suggesting a less expensive way to fix a crack in my engine block (I think?) that was leaking coolant and also plugging several holes in my tires, rather than trying to sell me new tires. Came in today needed fuel filter tighten up but actually needed new fuel lines aswell well, can't afford the repair right now but the mechanic was friendly and honest about the situation did not even charge to look at car. Would definitely go back to them because they seem trustworthy read more

Seversin's mechanics go above and beyond and have done so multiple times. Recently when I brought my car in for a brake issue the mechanic caught a problem with my tie rod. Based solely on the play in the steering wheel he was able to recognize an issue that I would easily have missed. I have been taking my cars to Seversin's for many years and have always been treated right! Most recently, I had to replace my alternator on a Ford Escape, and decided to have my brake pads replaced at the same time. The work was done in a timely manner and for a very reasonable price. Best of all, I know without having to shop around that Seversin's will do the work right and treat me fairly. They have saved me thousands of dollars over the years and I have referred dozens of people to Mike and they have all been happy with the service they received. Just used Seversin's for the 1st time & was extremely pleased. My rearview mirror had become detached from the windshield. I had taken the car to another repair service. Just asked in passing what it would cost to glue the thing back on. The guy told me $80 and would take a day or so! Almost fell over. Drove over to Seversin's. Talked to the owner. He said, if I brought it back in an hour or so he'd fix it then. How much? Oh, he said, I guess about $15. Wonderful!
