If you can't the chips right, you've failed, no matter how good any of your other food may be, in my honest opinion. Adriactic's chips are great. They are perfectly yellow, perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and potatoey on the inside. They give you the perfect amount of salt, and they are never that greasy. Their fritters are good too, not too thick and not too much batter. I hate when there's too much potato and it isn't cooked inside, or when there is too much batter it's like a batter fritter, and you're left thinking 'where's the potato!'. Not a long wait time, and it's pretty cheap. Oh and their fish burgers are delicious as well.

We ended up going for the silver platter - three meals all dumped on one big metal tray . For less then ten dollars each, Four of us had seconds and some left over for breakfast the next morning. They didn't skimp on the prawns in the combination meat either, which came as a bit of a shock. You know what your getting when you come here, but they do an excellent job of it.

Their taro is firm (not soggy/low quality) and covered well in coconut cream- $3 for a piece bigger than your hand isn't too bad going. They also sell cooked banana's (fa'i) for $1, again - great price and great taste. They then do a smorgasboard of prepared dishes including lamb flaps, chopsuey, chicken curry and other 'bulk' styled meals that can be bought in $5-$11 dollar chinese takeaway style boxes. They also offer many other samoan delicacies - $5 Luau (taro leaves filled with coconut cream), Panikekes (fried banana doughnuts), Keke Pua'a (pork buns) and much much more. The chopsuey is decent - they use a enough soy sauce for it to be tasty, however they do use some cheap cuts of meat, meaning you may find some small bones throughout your vermicelli. The pumpkin and lamb we tried today was delicious and just needed a bit of seasoning. The taro and banana's were all fantastic and alot better than the ones found down the road in Glendene- so I will definitely be back for that. We also get the fish/coocnut cream dish (Eleni) which was also very nice. The service is relatively friendly and fast, with several staff members generally ready to help. When I have gone in or walked past they have always had customers so it is one of the more popular takeaways in Avondale. Even the local homeless guys use to pick this place as the one to stand next to in hope of free food, which probably had more to do with the shops obscure side wall than taste preference.
